Maybe this is a bad first review... but simply looking at the screenshots of this game make me cringe with amazement. Realism anyone?

Own PSX "Medal of Honor"

If the PC port of the game is even half as good as the PSX version, it's going to rock. Medal of Honor (and to a lesser extent, its sequel) is one of the best first person shooters I've ever played. It also happens to be a very good representation of World War II combat. The weapons represented in the game really are what was avaiable during the war (in other words you're not running around with an M-16 wasting everything in sight) The ammunition dispersal is realistic. You take it off dead enemies, steal it from warehouses. The missions are very plausable. You had to take out German weapons productions, stop the Nazi A-bomb, and destroy a V-2 rocket lab. And, unlike most other games, you do have to watch what you shoot! If you nail an oxygen tank, for example, you and anything withing ten feet is done for. I've seen some screen shots for this game. They look absolutely amazing. Then again, that's what gamers can expect from a Quake III engine game.

Best WWII Game I Ever Played

I have Medal of Honor 1 and 2 for Playstation, The amount of detail is unreal. Things like throwing grenades are made fun for the computer will kick it away or throw it back. If you hit a enemy in the foot or hand they will shake it in pain. Hit top of head and helmet will fly off. Only thing I ever played that came close was Golden Eye for N64. Medal of Honor is more real, more fun. Hook system up to house speakers and shoot a machine gun to shake your house. Shoot a round from your carbine and hear the casing hit the ground. Can't wait for PC version.

This game allows you to relive one of the worst days in history: D-Day. Unlike most war games, this has great graphics and has amazing realism. This game is a must have for anyone who has watched "Saving Private Ryan". If you still need a way to release anger or hatred towards a nazi, then I strongly urge you to get this game. This game is going to change the world of gaming for ever (in a good way).

My only complaint about this is if it focuses on realism....then where's the blood? Even a little is OK. I guess they wanted a teen rating-which I think is stupid because you're still shooting people, period. Hopefully they will see this fallacy and create a patch, actually they've could've made an option to turn off the blood instead of completely getting rid of it. I also heard the flame thrower is non-existent in this game-another fallacy. Other than these two problems everything else looks like it's being utilized. The graphics are sharp (Quake III engine)-from what I've seen, and the environment looks really like scenes from saving private ryan. There's also a multiplayer option-which I have yet to see, and there are vehicles you can use-tanks, jeeps, etc. If you're into WWII games like this and aren't anal about realism then Return to castle wolfenstien might be for you. As for me I like compromise, so I'll probably getting both games.

MOH: Allied Assault was definitely one of the most impressive things I saw at E3 2001. After playing the demo I cant wait for this game to come out!
