This game is awesome, incredible graphics, gameplay, monsters, difficulty, and beating the God Mode its really worthwhile.
Its not Imposible or you have to be a God to beat it.. Or Am I a God and PS2addict isn't that much an addict as he tells, saying worldwide that he can't beat the game as everyone else hahaha!

BEST GAME EVER. I'M BRITISH, AND I KNOW!!!!! GOD MODE IS NOT UNBEATABLE, I BEAT IT IN LIKE A DAY. THE UNLOCKABLES ARE AWESOME, LET ME REPEAT THAT, AWESOME!!!!!!! KRATOS IS THE BOMB!!!! YYEAHHH!!!!!! This game is up there with Snafu being one of the best games ever!!!
Snafu has a way better soundtrack though.
Snafu has better colors.
Snafu is harder.

When I first started to play this game I was blown away at how in depth the story and the gameplay was. This game shows how good games can be outside of the shooter genre, which seems to get all the attention anymore. GoW while it isn't the longest game in the world will keep you impressed all the way through and hoping for a sequel or follow-up game that is just as impressive.

This game is was so praised by everyone I had to try it out. I am sure glad i did. Although not as long as I would've wanted it to be...it gets you hooked in the first five minutes...the main character commits Suicide! Then you do the events leading up to it. It's like a prequel to a debuting game. It is amazing a must try out...it won't be money well spent elsewhere...I promise

I've got a 1st generation PS2 and it works! It only needs patience(for all the people that bought this game and it did not work... the technique is**1.put the disk in the disk tray 2.Press/Hold the reset button- until it turns red, release 3.push reset again and it'll work!**) God of War game is really cool!! The graphics, platform and controls are PERFECT!! The story of Kratos... really super duper CoOOol!! The combos and the power of the Gods are OUTSTANDING! The enemies and creatures are just the right stuff for the game! The challenges will keep you playing for hours! This is a PERFECT game! Best game ever! a cool game! Looking forward on the next GOD OF WAR! Kratos will RETURN!!!!!

This is the game I would make if I desined games. The fighting system is flawless. It has a grate plot and by the end you realy do want to kill the god of war. The character you play as (Cratos) has a personality that realy fits his part. The grafics look like a movie and the sound is incredable. Instead of loading the whole story on you at once you are kept guessing by getting peices of Cratoses past. ultimitly this leads up to learning why you are trying to kill the god of war. The game is very true to greek mythology (or at least the stuff I know) and every monster resembles a type of mythologic creature.

Great game, but a little short

God of War has been hailed by many as among the best games for the PS2, and rightly so. The visuals in the game are simply astounding, from the fluid moves of Kratos as he slays one mythical beast after another to the sweeping landscapes you find yourself in. As I played through the game, I found myself at times backtracking just to admire a particularly stunning view.

The gameplay is very tight as well. Combos are simple and yet diverse, affording the player a number of methods to combat foes. At some points in fights, you play little minigames that entail hitting a sequence of buttons to finish off a monsterous enemy. The only problem with the combos is that you find yourself so absorbed in executing the button combos that you miss the array of moves your character is executing on screen in response.

The other problem with the game is length. I completed the game on normal difficulty in about 10 hours of gameplay. And there's not a whole lot of reason to replay. Just some harder difficulty levels. I may well reach for it again someday, but nothing drove me to dive back in from the beginning or anything like that. So a bit short, but at the price tag, why not? It's 10 of the most enjoyable hours I've had in a while, I'll say that.

I'm not one to watch extra videos, but there are some interesting "Making of" videos and such that you can view. See some levels cut from the game and get insight on the designers' take on the game. Worth checking out.

This is a game that will drop your jaw at times, keep you enthralled, and give you tons of enjoyment. Highly recommended, just wish it was longer.

God of War is one of the best games ever, is adictive and this is the best adjetive as i can give to a game.

100% purchable, playable, etc.....
