Ill admit, my favorite games are WW2 first person shooters(Medal of Honor series all the way) and I usually dont stray from the norm but then came games like God of War. This game was one of the best video games I have ever played. the graphics, the playability, the storyline, the everything are amazing. Honestly if you like hack and slash/ fantasy/ cool hero/ cool villains in your games like this then this is your game. Also try related games series like Devil May Cry series and Onimusha series. they are also great.

Like all platformers if you play non stop it will feel like a short game. It is packed full of excitement and it is hard at times which is good. You will get your moneys' worth. It is NOT a childrens game due to the blood, violence, and scenes of nudity. Do not buy for or let little kids play this game.

I played this game 8 hours straight when I got it. I missed dinner. I was even late for work one morning because I had to get to the next level. Tons of fun to play. Incredibly cool to watch--the filming of this game is FANTASTIC. ********* That's how many stars it should have. I can't wait for Part Two.

God Of War is really good but also really hard. Its full of action, blood, and fighting, without taking anything away from the storyline, which is cool for an action by the way.
But like I said its hard so you have to be committed to it. Other than that a great buy.
I've enjoyed it.

God of War is one of the most thrilling and satisfying game ever game. It is trully an epic adventure.The fighting is fast and fun.Enemies range from bats and dogs to mythical monsters.You can upgrade your weapons.Finishing moves are another aspect of combat.There are moves like splitting guys to half and tearing their heads off.The most advance moves consist on pressing alot of buttons.This makes the game more dynamic.You have no control over the gameplay camera,it was made like that to keep the cinematic feel.But it can often be frustrating if your solving puzzles that you have to jump.The camera will switch on you when you're not expecting.
You are the ruthless warrior,Kratos,commanded by the goddes Athena to murder Ares,the god of war.Every where you go people will be scared of you,since Kratos has slaughtered alot of men,which is kinda funny.Gods like Zeus,Hades and others grant you powers and guide you through the quest.Which is very cool.The graphics of the game are very sharp,the sound too.There are ships,dungeons,castles and more places in the game.The puzzles in the game are hard.And in combat you are always surrounded by monsters.In the game there is nudity and there is lots of blood.God of War will make you happy for having the PS2.Any PS2 owner should play this game,I assure you that you wont be dissapointed.

I have been a firm believer in the past that the xbox is better then PS2, but with playing this game, I have changed my opinion. This game is absolutely amazing, and am excited about rumors of god of war 2

Overall the game is short but great their is so much to do in this game , the graphics are great and the once you complete it you play again and again.

This is the best PS2 game I have ever played. I am mostly into sports and some war games but played this and was blown away. I love the originality and excitement of the fighting. Plus great story line and great graphics. Much better game than any of the prince of persia's.
