What can be said that hasn't already been said better? God of War is a fantastic action game. It has a compelling, epic/tragic story, an extremely violent anti-hero protagonist, and more Greek gods than you can shake a stick at. It does get quite frustrating in the final Hades level, and the final boss fight is killer, but it's all worth it in the end.

This game has amazing game play and story line as well. There are some hard scenes and puzzles but nothing compare to Soul Reaver saga. I can't wait to play God of War2.

God of War I and II are both absolutely wonderful games. Anyone who enjoys games such as Onimusha or Devil May Cry will love this game as well.

This game is old news by now, but I have to say it lived up to the hype. I enjoyed it so much that I may even pay full price for the sequel.

The first few minutes of gameplay will wow you. A lot of work went into the game engine which means Kratos can interact with his surroundings in a number of ways. The hacking and slashing is a lot of fun and the first boss fight is outstanding. The story, based on Greek mythology, and the animated scenes that connect the chapters of gameplay are very good by video game standards. If only the game had one or two more boss fights and wasn't so heavy on the frustrating traps and puzzles, I might have given it five stars. But since this game is now less than $20.00, you can't go wrong by buying it!

Do you like hack n' slash games? Do you like violence? Do you like blood? Even if you dont its hard to complain about this game. While this isnt my favorite genre in the world and Im not going to buy the game cuz its short and its just not genre I have no problem admitting this THE best straight forward action game on the ps2 and maybe all console(doesnt ahve xbox so idk about ninja gaiden). By straight forward action I mean you have levels you go through and you kill things solve a few puzzles kill a few more things fight bosses advance storyline which not many people care about(all they care about is the action...which is basically wat this game is for) this is not your gta type of game or metal gear solid. This is your lord of the rings type of game or golden axe(from the sega genesis...wat? i couldnt think of any action games). If you like the genre and you dont mind the money you should definitly get this game. If you like more adventure/action games than just plain action games you should rent this....or buy it next year when its like 10 dollars.

This game had me hooked for hours. Very amazing story line graphics are great you have all these awesome fighting moves and weapons. This game is one of my favorite ps2 games out know.This game blows prince of persia out of the water. If you have a ps2 and you don't have this game then definitly get it. its awesome!

This game was ecommended to me by a couple of my friends as one of the best games to come out in years. I could not agree more! Great game and a steal for the price! Action packed with a good level of game challenge, violence, and puzzles that make you think.

God of War is, in some ways, a truly excellent game. The graphics are flat-out gorgeous. Much of the gameplay is fun, self-consistent, and challenging without being unmanageable. However, there are several sections wherein the challenge consists of a disease common to many modern games: shoving boxes around while under fire. Perhaps some people enjoy this form of "challenge", but I don't. A very small amount goes a long way, then frustration and boredom set in. Add to this a few sections where you need to use an oversensitve controller to tiptoe across balance beams (or die instantly from a stupefyingly short fall). Too bad; this is a good game otherwise. Hopefully they'll leave the U-Haul portions out of God of War II.
