GREAT GAME BUT WAY TO SHORT

For the most part this game is great. The graphics are about the best I've seen on a PS2. Its easy to understand. And its the most fun i've had with a game since the last Grand Theft Auto game (San Andreas). Their are some minor problems however. Its to short. A day or two is all that is required to beat it. Also their are some small parts are unnecessarily hard. Their were a few parts that i would not have been able to win without a guide. This wasn't because what i was battling was so hard, but because i didn't know what i supposed to do. The Sexual ascpect of the game is way overblown. Their about 3 scenes where it comes up and the longest is about 10 seconds. I suggest renting this and not buying it due to its length.

This is one of the best games ever created. It ranks up there with Contra for NES. I loved it. Play with a friend, you may need the extra set of eyes.

By the time i got my hands on this, it was already in Platinum series. I havent finished off with all stages so havent gone for its successor yet. But so much that I have spent time on this game, the graphics, the story line and the action and adventure all score a 100% on all.
Once you start with this game, you definitely wont feel like leaving it until your fingers start to pain. I would recommend it to anyone who likes action and adventure.

I love God of War! It is so much fun to play if you've played any of the Prince of Persa games you will love this. God of War is the perfect mixture of plat forming and hack'n'slash. This whole game is fun whether you're in aan area where you have to do one of the many puzzles or your trying to rip off Medusa's head. If you don't own this game I would suggest buying it as soon as possible.

It's rated "mature" for a reason. Its completely addictive and with out equal. To be terribly honest i bought the game at a rediculously low price from Amazon. GOW is top 5 PS2
Rip-off/Copycat of "Rygar The Legendary Adventure"

This is a great game, but alot of this game has already been done three years ago by Rygar. The weapons are similar, fighting system with button combos, leveling up weapons using experience, zooming camera angles, fighting repetitive waves of the same enemy, the combo counter, magic attacks, breaking items for experience, secrets behind walls, this has all been done before by Rygar.
This is a really good game, but if you have already played Rygar you will probably breeze through this because its almost too familar and there wont be many surprises for you here. On the other hand, if you enjoyed God of War, then check out Rygar to see what I mean. Both are good action games.

HitGaming (AKA Springledge Entertainment, Inc.) cancelled my order, but now continues to offer the item for more cash. They ignore multiple customer service emails and @m@zon will rebuff any queries on third-party sellers. Further, you cannot leave feedback for a third party if the order is cancelled. You have been warned.
Fun Frustrating Futile

Make no mistake this game has a lot going for it. It's visually exciting, the music is first rate and the action/fight sequences are very smooth and dynamic.
But be warned. This game can be extremely, and I mean extremely infuriating. Seriously. There is a thick line between a challenging puzzle or fight sequence and down right frustration. This game does more of the later than the former. And as for that thick line, they seemed to have crossed over it half way through the game and forgot how to get back.
So if you enjoy spending hours on a single fight boss (the chamber of gods fight for example), or spending five minutes climbing spiked towers only to fall to the bottom of said tower because you got hit by a single spike and now must repeat this climb ad nauseam than this is the game for you.
I finally beat the game. Finally, after putting it down for an entire week then trying again with blood less boiled.
Maybe I never got the combo stuff down right, or there is an element to the game I'm missing but there is a frustration about this game that makes me have second thoughts about playing it again (all your weapons start at zero and so must be upgraded again, but the monsters get harder and faster increasing the "difficulty") or getting God of War II when it comes out. The scenes and puzzles seem to be more of the same.
This game needs some serious level tweaking but other than that it's very pretty and gory. Very gory and brutal. Not for children for game play or for content.

Though there wasn't much hype surrounding the release for GOD OF WAR, it is no doubt one of the good action/adventure titles to hit the PS2 in a while. Unlike Devil May Cry and Onimusha 3'& its Horrific camera angles, GOD OF WAR mixes a near perfect blend of action and strategy to acheive a balance in gameplay. Although Kratos' path is fairly linear, it doesn't deviate much from the excitement. His repertoire and strength of his attacks grow with every enemy you destroy and the combo sequences are ingenious, giving you multiple ways to dismember your enemy. The "auto camera" (you have no control over) does a great job of zooming and rotating to give you the best view for battle. Animation and battle are fluid, innnovative and are incredibly brutal, especially given the size ratio between Kratos and his enemies. To cut the story short, Excellent animation, great sound, great gameplay, great storyline, very bloody, sexual content aplenty. Well deserving of it's M Rating. KEEP THE KIDS AWAY FROM THIS ONE!! ADULTS ONLY. A MUST HAVE FOR YOUR COLLECTION.
