This Game is AWSOME!!!!! It is way too graphic for kids so parents no matter how much they beg DON'T BUY IT! Even the story is too adult for them. It is a very interesting puzzle, action, and adventure game. If you are a occational gamer set it to easy and dig in because you can get the hang of it with a little practice. The puzzles require a little brain power so be ready for vex sometimes.

This game is very good though I would warn parents not to expose young children to it. It merits its rating as there are some suggestive sexual scenes and a good deal of blood splattering about. Sense I am a longtime online gamer and EQ spoiled me, please understand that a 4 star from me for a non online game is actually a 5 star!

This game was such a surprise to me! I got it because I saw the latest version come out but didn't want to get the new one without first trying out the first one! Boy was I surprised!!! I love this game!! The graphics are phenomenal and the story line simply sucks you in! You'll have to literrally pull yourself away from the game to come back to reality

This game ROCKS. I love that it is not just a hack'n'slash but also incorporates puzzles to be solved along the way. A true classic.

By far my favorite game (until my copy of God of War 2 comes in). Fantastic story line and graphics.
the only down fall is that the game is very long. it only took me about 10 or 11 hours to beat it the first time.
extremely challenging. This games easy is any other games hard. I cant imagine anyone beating this game on God mode. that title is true. if u beat it on god mode, u are definitely a GOD...

up until the hades stuff it was great

This is a great game that really shouldn't have the crappy last part it does. I know i should give it a higher rating but the last part is so completley horrid i think gamers should be warned. If you made it to the hades path you know what i mean. After 4 pointless hours of trying to climb up the spiked walls i gave up and sold this game back to my local game shop. Up until that point the game was solid, engaging, and fun. At the hades path that all stops. This part of the game is not fun, and becomes the least enjoyable game i have ever played on PS2. It is so utterly poor that i can only give this game a 1. If you can stand to play through the BS of this level more power to you. I can't, i won't, and doubt i will ever pick up another title from this studio (it's that bad). I hear there is a part 2 coming out soon, i won't waste my money.

I agree with one of the previous reviewers. I think this
game was way overhyped and I regret buying it.
It does have amazing graphics, but under the hood it's a
boring hack and slash button mashing game for the most part.

This game is good... not just because of the graphics

First of all, this game has one of the best, if not the best, graphics for any PS2 title. Just looking at the title screen (Kratos' face rendered in 3D, moving, and really life-like) gives you an idea of what's in store when you start playing.

Gameplay is a fun hack-and-slash type with simple easy-to-pick-up controls but flexible combo maneuvers. What sets this game different are that puzzles are intergrated seamlessly even during boss fights. Even if you're good at killing, you won't get to kill the boss if you don't think. Moreover, there are also "dance revolution"-type sequences when you do finishing blows on bosses. Not doing it right means you won't be able to kill the boss and you'll wait for the next opportunity to do so without getting yourself killed.

On the downside, although this game is Greek mythology I did not get the immersion on Ancient Greece that I expected. You can see SOME elements of Greek architecture, art, costumes, weaponry etc. but it won't give you the complete experience. The scenes are just too "Fantasy". But hey, this is mythology after all. I did not get the same feeling of actually being in Ancient Rome when playing Shadow of Rome... too bad.

And finally, there's too much mature content in the game that some people might find distasteful. This is definitely not for kids. The developers could have toned this down. Violence do not make a good game... it's the gameplay. They got the gameplay right, I just wonder why they still insist on making a very violent game... I pitty them.
