Personally I thought that Pokémon Red and Blue were the best games ever created for Game Boy Color, but Gold and Silver were pretty good games too. There were some things I didn't like, for example, I think some of the new Pokémon look too much like ordinary objects with faces (Pineco???), and I liked the original 151 Pokémon better. Some of the old areas in Kanto, such as the Safari Zone, are now closed off. However, this game had a lot of advantages too.
-Now there are two worlds to explore: Kanto and Johto!
-More trainers allows for more battle experience.
-The keeping time idea was very clever. When it's nighttime in the real world, it's nighttime in the Pokémon world too! There are certain Pokémon you can only catch during the day, as well as ones you can only catch at night. It even keeps track of Daylight Savings Time and the day! Certain events only happen and certain Pokémon only come out on certain days of the week.
-Apricorns. Bring them to Kurt for new types of Pokéballs!
-More Pokémon to catch presents more of a challenge.
-New attacks.
-Dark and Steel Pokémon!
-Trade Pokémon with all previous versions of the game, as well as Crystal version.
-Breed Pokémon! Carry around eggs to hatch into baby Pokémon!
Play this game Pokémon Masters, if you liked the other ones and want a new one. If you're a new trainer, I would recommend playing Red and Blue first, they are the best ones anyway.
Easily the best Pokemon game out there!

Pokemon Gold version is easily the best Pokemon game, even though its graphics just don't match up to Ruby and Sapphire. A majority of the cons in the Red and Blue versions have been fixed. For instance, the graphics have been improved and are no longer just one color. You also have the ability to set some items, such as the bike, on select, so that you don't have to open up your backback ever time (they also made the backpack with additional pockets to keep the Pokeballs, keyitems, and items seperated). The game is so addicting and different from the other Pokemon games, such as how it changes from day to night, enabling you to capture different Pokemon, depening on the time. Training your Pokemon, in my opinion, is a lot more fun in this game then in Red version, maybe because the graphics and animation have been improved. You can easily play this game for hours, and even after you defeat the Elite Four, it still doesn't become boring because you can travel to Kanto afterwards! However, after I finished the game and raised a couple of my Pokemon up to level 100, the game corrupted! I don't know if I'm the only one this has happened to, so I'm not sure if I should get another one (when it corrupted, I didn't just lose my game-the game broke, to)! All in all, however, I would reccomend this game to anyone that enjoys role-playing games!
This is One of the Better Games

This game is Great! I got this one a few years ago, and I still play it. I like the fact that, not only can you visit the Johto region, but you can also visit the Kanto region as well, but you can only do that only after you defeat the Elite Four and complete other missions (I forgot what those were, since I haven't played them in a while). Plus, the graphics are much improved over the Red, Blue and Yellow Versions, and I like how they have the Day/Night feature on here... i think that's what I will like about Diamond and Pearl as well. The clock feature is really cool too. You can have this game on the road with you and still know what time it is. I highly recommend this game!
This game is easier then red blue and yellow but way funner!

Featuring a new adventure that's filled with numerous enhancements and innovations, this long-awaited sequel to Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow greatly improves upon the series' winning formula, and makes for an even more insanely addictive and wholly absorbing gaming experience.Like Pokémon Silver--which essentially is the same story, with minor gameplay variations--Pokémon Gold casts players in the familiar role of a young Pokémon Trainer who's out to collect as many different kinds of Pokémon as possible. As in previous games, gameplay consists mostly of exploration (completing various quests in the process) and Pokémon battles, which employ a unique battle system that's like a complex twist on rock-paper-scissors.But, despite the similarities, it's quite apparent that Pokémon Gold is a whole new ball game from the start. The game is played out in real time, with the current time and day of the week (recorded by an internal clock) having a direct impact on gameplay elements, such as what Pokémon you'll find in the wild, and when certain events occur and characters appear. While there are too many new and improved features in Pokémon Gold to list here, among the highlights are 100 new Pokémon (including two new types), new evolution processes (including breeding), and a more streamlined game interface that has better-organized menus and button shortcuts.Although it's easier to progress in Pokémon Gold than in the previous games, the sheer amount of fun and game time that's involved is daunting. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better value than this one.
IT WAS GREAT......

I really like "Pokeman Gold" It is very, very, very fun to do! I liked the fact it is in color because it makes me sick in black and white. It helps with your map skills because I use card map in the game to get around the place. I HIGHLY recomend it!
