Pokemon Gold is an awsome Game Boy Color classic! Unlike the first few, Blue, Red, and Yellow the graphics are colorful and sharp and the Pokemon look more realistic. Even after I stopped collecting Pokemon I hung on to my Pokemon games. Gold version is good because you collect new and old monsters and you can even get Pokemon eggs and raise them from babies. The way Gold uses real time is amazing! You can set the time and date on your first game and it will use that info to determine when certain Pokemon can be caught or not such as in the day and in the night. As the time goes by, people will say either good morning or good night depending on real time! There are special events held and fascinating concepts that make this more than an RPG but makes it an interactive story that has revolutionized gaming. This is a must have classic!
The only game where you can get 20 Ho-Ohs

If you are wondering what my title means I`ll tell you: I learned a sweet Pokemon copying secret where you store a Pokemon that you want to copy then instantly change to an empty box and as its saving turn off. When you turn the game back on you`ll have the pokemon in your party and your PC (but make sure you save afterwards). That`s how I got 10 Typhlosions!
Great

I thought it was very good. Better graphics, more pokemon, breeding, and mutating. Could this get any better. Plus, day and night qualityes. Very good. Also, more badges. If I liked this game you all will, too.

Pokemon gold is a great game with lots of new pokemon including the three lenadary dogs-entei,raikou and suicune and the two famous birds Lugia and Ho-Ho.The starting pokemon are different from the choice in red & blue but they are still the same types, chikorita (grass) like bulbasaur, cyndaquil (fire) like charmander and finally tododile (water) like squirtle. There is still pallet town and all those cities but you start off at new towns, its a brilliant game even though it wasn't that hard but I would totally recomend it.
Are you ready for round 2?

This is a must buy for any Pokemon fan, bacause the errors have been removed, 100 new pokemon have joined the melee, graphics more detailed, battles more exhilerating, and much, much, more. However, the only drawback comes from training pokemon for too long, but who cares. This game's a blast!
Some people are a little too harsh

OK, so Pokemon Gold isn't the most complex, enlightening, richly thought-provoking game out there. So what? So you're not embarking on a fifty-year quest through several hundred galaxies and fifteen wormholes to find the Holy Grail. Good Lord, do video games *really* have to be completely involving? Should they even be expected to devour your spirit and encase your mind in a tiny, pixelated(sp?)prison?
Now, most of the reviews for Pokemon Gold were very positive, but I just finished scanning some Pokemon Red reviews and it sort of...obviously, it irked me just a little too much. I've owned Pokemon Gold for...OK, just over a week now...and I personally find it quite entertaining. Entertaining is the key word. See, I don't need to be swallowed by a labrynth of a plot or by several labrynth subplots (maybe because I don't need to eat, sleep, and breathe a video game because I have a life:). Pokemon is a fun little game if you don't demand personal or spiritual growth from it. Just play this game with greasy kid hands, snotty kid nose, and simple kid brain. Sometimes thinking too much about superficial little things like video games is a bad thing. That goes double for expecting to hew an alternate life for yourself with one.
Pokemon Gold is like finding Gold!

Pokemon Gold is awesome! It starts off that you are like Ash, and have to pick a pokemon, which is Grass, Fire, or Water. Then you have to battle you revil! It's like pokemon red/blue/yellow/green but the grapfics, and for Game Boy Color is awesome! And you can go on trains, shop in walls, do lots of things in Pokemon world! This game is great! It's hard trying to get 251 now! There are no bugs in the game, and this game as the old lands too! Man, I can't wait to get the game for GBA when it comes out with new lands and more pokemon! This game has it all!
Grapics/Looking Animation, awesome! The best it could be for GBC! 10/10
Fun, are you kidding me? THIS IS FUN, PURE FUN! 10/10

Pokemon gold and silver are great new expansions to the world of Pokemon, the hit television show, trading card game, and nintendo game! Customers, note to look at Pokemon Crystal as well, since there are more features there (such as the famous female character).
You no longer play Ash, but a new character by your name. You journey through Johto to become a Pokemon master, as usual. You also get to go to another continent, which is basically the same as where Red, Blue, and Yellow took place on.
This makes a great gift, or a great addition to your Game Boy collection, especially if you are a pokemon fan.
Pros:
1) A whole new world
2) New character
3) Bank, Day/Night effects, Time, and Day of the Week effects
4) Pokemon coming out during day/night
5) More advanced than Pokemon Red and Blue.
Cons:
1) Pokemon Crystal is more worth getting than Gold or Silver
2) Not much has changed (graphic wise---except color)

This is the best pokemon game out there!
