I played a beta version of this game and it is better than the PS2 version!
Fisrt, you can destroy ANYTHING you want to. Can get through a door? Blow up the wall and walk around! You can blow up the supports of a tower and bring the whole thing down!! Blow the bridge out beneath a huge armored tank! You can destroy anything and everything thanks to the new geo-mod technology!
The story about the "revolution" isn't the best, but who cares about a story in a first person shooter?? Anyway, you are a miner (basically a slave forced to mine all day) forced to work all day by Ultor. A woman named Eos is leading a revolt against Ultor and you are all caught up in this. Plus, miners are dying from a disease known as the "plague." Story: 3/5
The graphics are sweet!!!! Character faces are beautifully animated and the enviroment looks great! Graphics: 5/5
Now, the sound......... WOW! The voice-acting is great! The sound of gunfire and explosions are awesome. Everything about the sound in this game couldn't have been better. Sound: 5/5
Everyone knows that first person shooters were made for the computer and the control of this game proves it. It is execellent and could not be better! Control: 5/5
Overall, this is the best first person shooter since Half-Life. I suggest that you go out and buy this game as soon as it comes out! Overall: 5/5

Red Faction totally rocks. You'll have to have a upper end computer to see how great this game looks and sounds. I was amazed how real the rock in the mines looked. And I was totally amazed at how real the faces on the characters looked. And the characters actually say different lines to you and not the same old thing over and over again like in other computer games I've played. I don't care what other reviewers say, go out and buy this game if you have a upper end computer and you want to see a great first person shooter. I would have to say this game ranks right up there with Half-Life. What amazes me is the vehicles and the stationary weapons you see throughout the game. Everything is so easy to operate and it is so cool to see the vehicle weapons and the stationary weapons in action. I've never been able in other computer games to get into a vehicle or behind a stationary weapon and just blast away with both bullets and rockets. This is the first computer game made where you can make holes in the surrounding walls with both rockets and bombs. Hey, I don't care what anybody saids. I could watch the explosions into walls a million times over and never get tired of it. To get into a submarine and shoot torpedos and watch the torpedos go through the water and hit something is like watching a real submarine in action. I highly recommend this game to anybody who wonders what it would be like to work in underground mines on the planet Mars.
This game almost put you there.
Beta Tester, god this game rocks

wow,.......wow, this game will change it all. the Geo-mod tech used that allows for instant level/map redefination rocks! I'm also on a MOD dev team and i can tell you that when this hits stores it will be the first thing on our list. If you havent heard about this game yet,... well not too suprising, the main things that will set this game apart are the tech aspects not the story-line. The Geo-mod engine allows the user(player) to modify the aspects of the level at will. this means that when you shoot a rocket at a door it blows a hole in it not just leaves a black scorch mark. A MUST HAVE for any Hal-life Fans!!!!!!!
The Demo Rocks-- The Game Should Too

I've played the demo and i have to say as a long time Quake player and then Half Lfe.. this game blew me away. The best part is that opnce you hav the rocket launcher you don't need doors any more... The completely destructable world allows you to even see NME's on a heat scope and just launch a rocket through the wall.
Plus the completely destuctable world works in Muliti-player... my favorite feature.. Now I don't have only one or two ways to escape.. I can make my own doors..
If the demo is any indication this will be a contender for Game Of The Year quick..
Grab the Demo .... Trust me you'll buy the game
As good as Half-Life? Hell yeah!

I just got a copy of the big red faction demo on a cd and decided to try it out. Now, I have an HP Pavilion from late 1999 and wasn't expecting the game to be great, but it said I would be able to run it smoothly. With the level detail at medium, the charecter detail at high, decals on, and shadows and dynamic lighting off(I usually use this config as I don't think its any worse than the maxxed settings are), the game actually RUNS WELL! It looks like Half-Life on steroids with the better graphics, and the game DID slow down at some points, but I was running it on a 466 megahertz with no video card! The characters moved fluidly, and the only slowdowns were a slight pause when I blasted a hole in a wall. This game is fun, low requirments by modern standards, and the geo-mod is VERY cool!

Imagine playing Tribes for the very first time. That feeling of ,"I didn't know computers could do that." The feeling of "...Woah..."
Red Faction is a first person shooter with mind blowing realism. The graphics are clean and almost near flawless. The gameplay is fast and difficult but is extremely addicting. One could play for hours and not even realize the time.
Red Faction has fast and explosive on-line play as well as a long and challenging game for off-line play. Both gameplays are amazingly fun. I have played many games on-line (i.e. Tribes 1 and 2, all Quakes, Half-life: Counterstrike, etc.) and none amount to Red faction.
Of course all on-line games have their ups, Quake's gore, Tribe's defense ability, and Counterstrike's adventure, but Red faction is an all around great game. Being able to plow through walls with amazing and fun weapons and interact with virtually all surroundings, only adds to the excitement.
I would strongly recommend Red Faction to anyone with a love for first person shooters or a desire for fun. Red Faction is the perfed addition to any gamer's library or the greatest beginning of one.
Extremely cool game

I bought this game on the PS2 in anticipation of the PC version coming out. It is cool but Im just not gonna call it next gen or anything. The way things can be destroyed is cool, dont get me wrong but it isnt quite as revolutionary as it was made out to be. I must say the coolest thing is the way the glass shatters, its just soooo cool looking. But getting past the hype I found this to be a really fun title. The Death Matchs will be fun with bits of wall blowing up everywhere. Not too sure if my disliking of the games over-glorified luster is probably because the PS2 making the graphics look really blurry and the controls are just disgusting (if u are used to playing PC shooters that is). Just let me say that if you are lookin to get one good PC game this July, get Max Payne. It looks so unbelievable that it is mindboggling thinking how it will play. For those of you who are like me and just like buying up all the new titles, or someone looking for a good solid game with a fun story line and nice multiplayer possibilities then give this game a try. I cant wait to get my PC version and see it on my 3D ProphetIII, rid myself of that analog controller and get my Razer Boomslang mouse. Happy gaming :D
Incredible!

This game is the most incredible thing I have ever seen! I have the Playstation 2 version and I'm going to get the PC version anyway. I am going to because I will be able to verse people over the internet with the death match feature! Anyway, in the game you play as Parker and your mission is to go to a mine in mars and stop this agency from harvesting the deadly material in the mine. Atleast that is what I think I'm trying to do.( I forget what happened at the begining because I've gotten so far). I find myself playing atleast 2 hours a day because of the engrossing storyline and the fun factor. If there's a tank coming your way, just blow a hole in the ground with a rocket launcher and it will fall right into it! Also with the pin point aiming mode, when the opportunity arrises, take aim and fire! The death match mode also gives it great replay value. Plus the geo mod engine lets you blow up just about everything you want! This game is one of my favorites and always will be. Five stars!
Woo Hoo!

I tried the demo of the single player and multiplayer. What a game! I am a big fan of Half-Life and Unreal and this game is right up there. The "geo-mod" stuff is a great addition, but I really like the smooth graphics and a nice story line. I can't wait to get the full version. If you like FPS games, YOU REALLY NEED TO GET THIS GAME!
