A uptodate 3d-shooter graphic game!

This game as OK gameplay.OK sound quality but support from supporting a3d and eax cards.Only supports direct3d hardware rendering from your 3d huge accelerator video card.The thing that makes this game special,THE TERRAIN! You know how in most fps(first person shooters)When you shoot a rocket a a surface, ceiling, or wall, it just leaves a black huge circular mark and fades after a while?WELL GUESS WHAT?Not in red faction!when you shoot a rocker on a surface it leaves a hole in it.A realistic messed up dirty broken surface rocky hole, keep on doing it creat a cave like realistic terrain tunnel, further and further, and further!Besides the point, terrain digging people, this is your game!I reccomend a penitium 500mhrz, 64mb ram supporting direct3d accelrator, a3d or eax directx7 accelerator sound card!256mbram, 1.0ghz of harddrive space for installation, mouse and keyboard, high quality supervga up to 32bit color, and a pair of high quality speakers!Just get the game terrain diggers!You will love it!!

Geo MOD technology is extremely fun!!!!

This game is outstanding regarding the Geo mod technology...geo mod technology is: if u fire a rocket at a wall, it doesn't just explode leaving the wall intact and just a black mark, noooooo it creates a hole in the wall. that makes the game a whole lot more interesting. the weapons r superb: the futuristic weapons r fun, while the "modern" weapons r realisitic in nature. The weapons make for a great multiplayer while the storyline is semi bland. the vehicles r fun to drive...this is a really fun game, w/ not many bugs at all:-)

I bought this game because others gave it good reviews. I installed it on a HP 510 with XP but can get no further in the game than the menu page. The computer crashes.

For any of you who have seen Total Recall (with Arnold Schwarzeneggar), this game sort of plays off of the same situation that the movie delt with (all the way down to the dirt drill, which you can use in the game).

When the story starts, your a miner that has been on mars for some time, and you've experienced some pretty grim stuff, well beyond the expectations of your employer, and much worse than minimum wage.

First it starts with a sixteen hour shift, than people start to lose their sanity, and many become sick with grief, and if not grief, then perhaps what they call 'the plague' which strikes almost immidiately, without warning, killing those it infects, instantaneously, or so they say, many believe the plague has a meaning, and that it's conceivance has nothing to do with Mars.

If that's not enough, during your shift you get no breaks, only one 30 minute lunch, and almost no time to sleep in between, let alone the guards who whip your back with words while you work.

So, what is there to do about it, well, currently, there's a warrant out for the arrest of an individual named Eos, no one knows who he or she is, yet knows, that if anyone were to join together to form a rebellion, they should join with Eos. That is where your character comes in and, without choice, joins the 'Red Faction'

This is just the beginning, this is how it starts with your charactor, and how it ends, is only appropriate, much like Total Recall, you ending up saving Mars from the plague, an evil corporation, and a disastrous end.

This game is good for a simple play through once or twice, and is good to keep in the collection to maybe reminesce on or perhaps play again. Well worth the entertainment.

Next "Game of the Year".

I don't have anything bad to say about this game. The action, graphics, Geo Mod, etc, are all excellent and get 5 out of 5 from me. The AI is good to excellent; I would say between 4-5. The only thing I would say is that the monsters should have had better AI. Weapons are awesome. Using submarines, trucks and the hover crafts is cool. The Geo Mod makes the multiplayer mode a lot of fun. ANYBODY WHO LIKED HALFLIFE WILL LOVE THIS GAME. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes first person shooters.

I've been playing FPS since the days of Doom and Wolfenstein, and, I still enjoy those two games. That's beside the point. My latest kicks have been Counterstrike and Unreal Tournament. And, I must say, the Red Faction demo blows the ... out of all of them. The possibilities are endless! Think of the fun if Counterstrike allowed you to burrow across the map! I just hope Volition has made the modding as simple (relatively) as UT. And, IMHO, it was time for the game that redefines the FPS genre to have an epic storyline. The last commercial FPS that really took off (as far as I know, anyway) with some semblance of a storyline was Half-Life, and that played out like a typical sci-fi horror flick. Red Faction has to be the coolest looking game to come out in a long time. If I had ... bucks right now, I'd definitely pre-order this. But I guess I'll just have to wait. Oh well.

This is a pretty good game, i still dont think that the single player is as good as Half-life was but its fun. It has some very cool features, such as being able to holster your gun, blow up walls and go through them and being able to pick up and hide bodies. I think a good way to describe this game is a cross between Deus Ex and Half-life. I think the MP could have been better but this game is good for the money.

Excellent game, if you like Half Life you will LOVE Red Faction, well worth the money for the game. p.s. always go for the head-shots! :)

If you like 1st person shooters that are fast paced you'll love this game. It gets a little hard in places so start out in the easiest mode first. Good luck
