A good fps

This game turned out better than I thought it would. A real fun straight forward shooter. The story was easy to follow even though your objectives, once given, couldn't be seen again. The sound and music was great. The GeoMod engine, in my opinion, didn't add that much to the game.

On my almost antiquated computer (450mhz,geforce2,penII,256mb ram), I had no trouble with the game at all. It looked great.

Highly recommended for the FPS fan

Okay, Red Faction Is fun, the plot is well developed, it is a complicated game, it is well developed and it is tantilizngly(sp?) addictive. The reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because there is something wierd about the game: It is really complicated, it is hard, and the story is long and well developed, but the thing that makes it wierd is that you can beat it in no time. I dont know why you just can. It is amazingly fun though while it lasts.
For those who said that the Geo Mod engine is not cool, well let me tell you, it is. It is revolutionary in gaming. I mean sure...there is not THAT much that you can do with it, but you have to play with it for a while, you also must understand, this is just version 1.0. Another thing is that there are not that many weapons, they are fun but most of the fun ones you only get in the last 1/4 of the game(which is like 3 or 4 weapons).
but overall I would recommend Red Faction, it deserves some intense recongnition for lack of a better word.

I played the 127mb demo of Red Faction. The system requierments are so low that it unbelivable. The graphics and sound are very good, The GEO-MOD is a great technology, You can blow up everything. But the game is like a half-life clone with a very bad AI. I hope they will tweak the AI in the Full game

The Storyline:-
You are a miner on Mars( You should really have guessed by now) One day you see your friend getting beaten to death by a security Guard.
After this event you decide to join a miner revolt called "RED FACTION".

Game Details:-

Graphics are purely amazing, there is complete clarity in what you are seeing. i.e like when you see the bullets being ejected from the gun chamber. ( This is of course from being a skeet shooter myself)

Enemies- some more imaginative than others but all pretty human.

My rating- 5 stars.

Its just the game to get!

I have to admit I am a bit dissapointed in this game. While the graphics are excellent for the most part, the cut scene closeups are almost an insult to the rest of the game. Capek has got to be the cheesiest looking character I have ever seen in a FPS game. The plot of the Single player mission is NOTHING like HAlflife as someone said in a review and Halflife is STILL top dog in FPS games. I admit the weapons are pretty cool, but I don't see any significant difference in the so called Geo-mod engine and other good fps engines(Unreal, Halflife, etc) In fact, so far, I haven't been able to blow much of anything up. Also, the plot of the game is very vague and you can't even look at your objectives or anything to know what you have and haven't done. One of the most annoying things in this game that just about had me spitting nails was the stupid civilian people who when they see anyone waving a gun, kneel down in the doorways and block your way every time. Bottom Line, mediocre game at best, but definitely no challenge to Halflife. Halflife is still the best by far.

I bought this game recently, and it is great, one of the best 1st person shooters I've ever played. It has a challenge to it but not one that is impossible to beat. It also has an incredible multiplayer, and there is ALWAYS someone on to play against. There is also a wide variety of weapons to choose from, from guns to launchers. This is a great game, and well worth the [money] it's going for now. I highly recomend this game.

Good game, but not all that its cracked up to be.

Let me start out by saying that I have a P3 1 Ghz system running a geforce 2 mx400 32 meg, with 512 meg of ram and an 2mbit plus cable connection....

The games principals are awesome. I really like the idea of being able to blow through walls with rockets and other machines. What the game does lack, other than what was mentioned before, is gameplay. This game is like every other 1st person shooter out there. There is nothing great about this game. Save your money. They only reason that I bought this game is because it was only $... and thats the only reason.

As far as multiplayer. Like I said before, I am running an awesome cable connection. I tried playing on a coulpe of servers with 12 or less people on it and a ping level under 200ms. All I can say about this is that it SUCKED. The lag was terrible. The game was so jumpy even with 12 people playing and the game is supposed to support up to 32. I dont know. Maybe its cause this game just came out and they need to release some patches.

Here's the deal. Buy this game only if you are a die-hard 1st person shooter game player. Well, even if you are, dont get it, Wait for Retrun to Castle wolfenstein to come out.

This game is the best I have ever played. Here are the reasons.
1. If runs like Half-Life (dont need super great comp)
2. The graphics are great!
3. There are lots of levels and a level creator to keep you busy...>This game is the best I have seen yet in FPS! If you arnt really sure on buying it, then do what I do and get a demo. If its good then buy it and also reasearch the games ratings and why it was good then it is sure to be a good buy. To know more about the game go to the site below and download the world wide demo that way you can play single player and muli. ...1 Last final thing, the bad thing is that this game doesent have any AI bots only online but thats ok too. Same old shooter with better blow-ups and graphics

The graphics are great, the damage effects are wonderful but it is still the same old 3D shooter in a fancy new bag. What do I mean? Well, you have the "switch hunting" type plot. I hate switch hunting. If the game allows you to blow up anything (and Red Faction does not) then finding keys or switches should be irrelevent.

The game is fun but it would be much better if it refrained from the "great key/switch hunt"

This game is idescribably cool. you can't tell if its not real or if it is. unlike sierra studio's half-life and other games you can actually blow open walls

in short people... BUY IT!!!!!!
