It may be that I just finished Max Payne (the best game I've played in a long time) and then bought this game, but I don't like it that much. The Delta force series is so much better. the missions are not clear and I got lost serveral times and it took forever to find my way back. Ok so this may be more realistic, but not very fun. When you have two hours to enjoy a computer game and just hide and run around in the woods, only to be shot...well maybe thats fun to somepeople but not me.

Great Concept , but Unrealistic shooting in several missions

OK. Cool Concept, however its unreal when enemies troops kill you from the distance of approx. 700ft or more unless they snipers. First, of all they cant even see you, especially at night at that distance and when you on the ground. Keep in mind I am not talking about helicopters, tanks and bmp just troops. If it was that easy any war would end up very soon. An addition, make sure you have a decent NVidia card to enjoy.
Overall game is just ok. So far the list of games that are more real are Delta Force Land Warrior, Hidden and Dangerous (wait for H&D 2), Project IGI by Eidos(unfortunately there is no save option) and Rogue Spear.

War is not fun.

Several reviews on this site and on a couple game review sites led me to believe this game was fun.
It is not.
The creators do an excellent job of simulating real war.
You as one soldier have only a very small impact on the results of each scenario in the campaign.
Most firefights are at the range at which, even "zoomed in", you can't really see your opponent, so much as the flash from his gun.
You can't aim your gun with accurate crosshairs as in ALL other computer shooters. Instead you get a vague bar that gives you a basic idea where your bullets might land.
There's a lot of down time between battles. A lot. And you MUST sit through every excruciating second of it.
Usually, when you get hit, you have no idea where the bullet came from, and, of course, you are dead.
And, finally, you only get two chances. You can save each multi-battle scenario in the campaign ONCE. Don't squander it, or you'll have to ride in the truck for 5 minutes again.
All of these factors serve to make the game a very realistic rendition of real war. And they also make it a miserable, bewildering, and boring experience.
Gameplay issues aside, the so-called "Codemasters" are no such thing; there are many bugs that have entirely halted my progress through the game. It's going in the stack of old, sorry games I will never play again.
And don't be fooled by the demo; amazingly enough, it is NOT representative of the actual gameplay.

Realistic, but clunky at times

I appreciated all of the details - realistic weaponry, transportation, missons, etc.. However, the graphics are awkward at times - trees and shrubs look very 2-dimensional. The textures on the figures are good, but their motions seem stiff.
Last, the realism (like getting killed in one shot) is welcome, but can get tiresome. It should be a game after all.

Good for us faster dudes...

This game is simply incredible. It is truely immersing to the
point that you forget yourself. Runs smoothly and never lags-
if your computer is sort of like mine...

P4 2Ghz
2 GB of RDRam
64 megabyte DDR NVIDIA Geforce 3 4x AGP
20 GB Ultra ATA/100 Hard Drive (small but super-fast)
Win XP (not as good as 2000 in terms of stability)

Are you getting me? Yeah... If your computer kicks some keister
then get it.

Dull

This is the worst. I want my money back. Klunky, lost, unplayable. I would give it a minus star if I could.

Horrible Game

I am wondering if I played the same Operation:Flashpoint as the rest of the reviewers because this was the latest in a long line of terrible military 1st person shooter games. The graphics are mediocre, while the playability is absolutely horrible. I took this game back and exchanged it less than an hour after buying it. It ranks among the worst military shooters I have ever played along with the Delta Force games, the Clancy games(The Rainbow Six series that is), and others. Don't waste time or money on this ... game. It's disappointing that no one seems to be able to come up with a good 1st person military adventure shooter game. The only two decent ones I've seen recently were Medal Of Honor and Return To Wolfenstein. Again, don't waste money on this awful game.

Horrible...Major let-down

This was the worst game I have ever played before. I gave it the benefit of the doubt, but after about 2 weeks I had to pack it up back in it's box, put it on my shelf, and go back to older games. Complete waste of time and money!

I hate this game so much I have to write another review. All these people who love this game must have been living in a cave for the last 5 years playing Pac Man. Thats about where this game stands- The graphics are so absolutely horrible I can't bear to think of it. The game is full of terrible, terrible voice overs and cheesey little cut scenes, and your soldier runs like he just learned how. On top of that you have voices of other characters that were rendered by Speak And Spell. The developers had a good idea, but failed at their attempt. The quality just isn't there. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY- You were warned!

I LOVE THIS GAME

My roommates have basically written me off as far as going out is concerned lately. I really got into this game, and played it almost every night after work for about a month. Read the other reviews for the details, but this game is exactly what a game should be, FUN!
