THE DEMO IS AWESOME ALONE!!

I was surprised by the inteeligent AI, it is better than half-life. When pinned they will call support to flank you. Also, you can fly and drive many different vehicles, 3 in the demo. In the demo you must ambush a group of Russians (why are they always the bad guy?). Two minutes ago I figured out that there are 3 outcomes (that I know of...) 1. blitz them and its over in 5 minutes 2. attack slowly and beat everyone before moving on (this leads to enemy heavy armor coming and this forces you to take an ill fated helecopter trip.) 3. wait until the armor comes and then do a fighting retreat back to your base. Remember that this is just the DEMO!! I replayed it over and over and i am still having fun with it. There are different classes for enemy and friendly AI alike. If you are injured you can call a medic and if you are pinned down you can hide and call for support. My favorite thing to do is steal a jeep from the enemy drive over a few enemies and then drive 5-10 meters in front of a group of enemies. I swerve the car so I can get out and hide on one side. Then I shoot and throw grenades over the car. It is so much fun! You must also rely on unit cohesion to reach certain objectives. Basically, this will probably be the best FPS and strategy game for a long time, BUY IT!

This is the MOST REALISTIC COMBAT SIMULATOR ever made. I spent 6 months in the Persian Gulf with a Marine Rifle Battalion, we were the 3rd Unit to enter Kuwait City, and contrary to CNN and all the critics, it was pretty hairy. This game comes as close as a computer game can come to pure realism. There are 40+ add-on missions to the demo, which allow you to explore all facets of the Simulator. From Armored Combat to Squad Tactics.

As for James Cope, you do know you can remap all the controls brainiac. No need for Star removal.

THIS GAME RULES!!Semper Fi

Totally amazing demo... as I get older, fewer and fewer games can hold my attention even close to the way the DEMO has for this one. Ive played it over and over and over and over, and I keep playing it, just to try different things. I cant WAIT for the full version. I am sure my social life will suffer as will my sleep, because I intend to play this to death. Graphicvs: Amazing. Sound: As good as possible Gameplay (DEMO): Amazing Replayability: Amazing. In short, if you buy one game this year, it should be this one. Back to the good ole days of fighting the ruskies in Europe. I can see add-on campaigns for other parts of the world as well... KEEP IT UP CODEMASTERS...

The demo is one great demo. This game is phenominal. It comes real close to actually fighting in battle. You have amazing options and can do whatever you want. You can take the weapons of the people that you kill. You could also take vehicles and drive them around. This is one great game.

One of the best FPS's i've ever played!

This is game is amazing, you can play it over and over again without getting fed-up with it. Also, the learning curve is only about 30min to an hour (depends on how much you play Videogames) also the graphics are great. You can see your hands steer the cars, and your feet press the accelrator (does anyone use the brake in videogames?) The best of the game is the realism, remeber when (with enough shots from a pistol) you could take out a tank in a game (delta force), in this game if you don't have a rocket launcher you run like hell cause you'll be dead in a matter on seconds if you take on a tank. This is just one example of the realism in this awesome game. A MUST BUY FOR MILITARY FREAK OR FPS FAN!!!

As an ex-Marine and a Gulf War vet I know a little about combat. This game could be used to teach small unit tactics. The only thing really missing is the smell. The way the AI utilizes Soviet bloc tactics in the demo is superb. I almost had to dig up some of my old military manuals to remember the "soft spots" on the armored vehicles in order to stop them! I couldn't believe it when the offloaded enemy infantry reacted differently every time I played the demo. Not only did they react differently every time I changed my tactics, but they reacted effectively and according to standard Soviet style doctrine. Somebody put some serious thought into designing this game and I tend to put some serious time into playing it.

it's gonna be a hot one....................

I have downloaded the demo in a belief, that "here we go, another brainless shoot up game, a la IGI or SOF. Well, i have already pre-ordered this game. That's how good this is. This is my first game i ever pre-ordered and i have been playing pc games since '93. I'm also a veteran of US Army. Let me tell you non-veteran people, it will only get more realistic if i could listen to my own breathing and my running footsteps, have sweat drops running down on my forehead, the smell of gunpowder and the air ripping shockwave of the T72 main gun , which will shake you down and make you run like you never ran before.

Pure awesome!

This game is awesome it combines the terrain of the Delta Force Series and the realisticness of Rogue Spear. All the keys are simple to memorize and the fighting is tough. It is really cool because you can tell your soilders to hide in bushes and the AI are very skillfull. Also when tanks and soilders shoot at night you can actually see flashes of lights. Operation Flashpoint is a fun and challenging game. I recomend this is everyone!

I am currently in the U.S. Army and I must say that somebody at Codemasters/Bohemian interactive really knows what they're doing. As an avid FPS gamer I was drawn to the demo, but as a soldier I found it incredibly an deeper and more satisfying play than anything I've played previously (yes, Counterstrike included!)

My specific job requires me to know military equipment, and the models in the demo look like they came from right out of Jane's. This is real hardware, people; the T72 even has the fuel canisters in the back and the fording snorkel on the side. (I gotta try and shoot those fuel canisters one of these days ;))

The infantry in the game is also realistically modeled: you can't run forever with an M16, 4 magazines, 5 grenades, a steel helmet (we didn't have the kevlar helmet yet back then) and all your battle-rattle on and not run out of breath! Also, it may just be my imagination but I think you have to lead your shots ever-so-slightly for those long-range kills.

Don't let all this realism scare you; the game is still a blast to play. I've played it five times now (twice was all it took for me to pre-order) and it's never played out the same way twice. Sometimes the op's been smooth as silk, other times, it's only been me and one other soldier (usually the medic) who makes it to the pick-up at the end. You execute the op wondering what chance has in store for you, just like in real life. It's pure tension.

I was debating on giving the game 4 stars, due to the slightly longer but still forgiving learning curve on the game (particularly the clumsy menu-driven way in which you perform non-combat actions) However, seeing as how it's a pre-release demo, I decided to give it the beneift of the doubt. Hopefully the controls will be a little more intuitive with the final release.

P.S. A seemingly little-known feature that my fellow servicemembers haven't seemed to mention yet is the optics feature in the game: Press 'V' (default key) and you will actually look through the sights of whatever weapon you are holding, and you will see the REAL sight picture of an M16A2, PK7, what have you! It's a nice touch and it actually does make aiming easier.

Awesome!!

I'm not much of a game person. BUT, I downloaded this demo, and I was HOOKED!! You have complete freedom in this game, to move where ever you want, and can even take weapons from dead soldiers, enemy or friend. Can't wait till it comes out. I'm preordering this game NOW!!
