Bad all the way around

I guess (RTCW) has ruined my expectations of what games are suppose to look like. Flashpoint is a poor game. You can run through trees and buldings. Graphics are weak to say the least. SLow response time on moving and you over run where you want to stop. Gun sights suck and you get killed with one shot but need half a clip to kill them. Save yopur money.

This is NO Ghost Recon

I'm going to get straight to the point on this one. If you already own Ghost Recon, I highly suggest you don't waste your money on Operation Flashpoint. You are going to end up so disapointed you'll probably quit buying computer games for a month. Heres why:

The graphics are pretty impressive. However, you just don't get the same "feel" as you do in Ghost Recon. It's more "video game" graphics than realism. It's almost a glorified super mario brothers type graphics. Get the idea?

The sound is another issue. It just doesn't make you feel like your actually out on the battle field. The radio transmissions will give you a headache and confuse the heck out of you before you can actually understand them. Ever turn on the TV when the cables out? You know the white snow noise? Imagine playing a military game and 90 percent of the time that's all you hear.

The gun fights are boring. You get shot at by little dots that look like soldiers about 100 meters away. You don't actually feel like they are on top of you like in Ghost Recon.

The BOTTOM LINE is this...If you want a Realistic military infantry game, go with Ghost Recon. It's got the graphics, and the sound that you expect from a great military game. If you don't beleive me, play both of them, and you'll quickly see what I'm talking about. Take your money and go with Ghost Recon, you'll be VERY happy you did.

I currently put this on my new system (2.8ghz P4 Geforce 4 Ti 4600 etc) to see if it was any better, and same result. Decent game, but not up to par with whats out there. Its getting cheaper, and the price is getting closer to what its worth.

playing as a soldier all the time is the worst part of the game, the few missions where you can use a tank or aircraft are the best ones in the game and giving orders to your crew is very simple if read how the controls are setup. (...)

This game is very nice. Quite fun. Not enough missions in the campaign. I dont know how cool the multiplayer support is yet though because I cant get any of the upgrades to install. Every time I try to run the upgrades it asks for the cd, yet the cd is in the drive. Oddly the game itself works just fine, you'd think they could write an upgrade that can check the cd-rom drive too. Anyway, beware the upgrades might not work for you.. I'd write to their support to see what the statistics are on this sort of problem.

Excellent War Sim.

This game is by far the most realistic War/Battle simulation I've ever played. The plotline is intresting and the battles were sensational. The game allows you to drive everything and fly anything in the game. Unheard of in any past shooters. Also it allows you to pick up weapons and ammo from dead soldiers but unlike the 007 shooters you do have the realistic limitations. You can not for example carry a rocket launcher, machine gun 50 hand grenades and you ever important sniper rifle(better make sure you brought along a combat sherpa). I have always found that games that do not limit your carrying load to be unrealistic. In addition unlike the Rainbow 6 games the enemy AI can't just kill you with 1 short burst, They miss their first few shots. And this is definately not Close Quaters Battle. You have to nail the guy a Visual Range making it more challenging. My only complaint is that Operation Flashpoint 2 isn't out yet. And that the Campaign is too short.

I have recommended this game to all my friends who play PC games. The US Marines have even purchased a modified version of this game for training their troops. Hands down an excellent game. Why are you waiting? BUY THIS GAME NOW!

I pre-ordered this game because of the European recommendations comparing this game to Rainbow Six. As Lyod Benson said to Dan Quayle "I know Rainbow Six, and you are no Rainbow Six". If I had to rate this game I'd call it Rainbow 2! The Graphics were very square and herky jerky. Even though there is a mouse sensitivity adjustment, it's still very clunky, and it doesn't have the fluidity it should.

Just [have] the demo can't wait to get the full version and join a squad. Everything you could possible want in a "FPS"! Graphics could be bit better but who cares it ROCKS!

This is the Ultimate War Simulator you can ever find(so far) if you are a sim fan, then this is a must have! I downloaded a full german copy of this game and it is awsome! Anything you can find you can use. But ease of use is not so great, and the graphics are alright but game play does make up for it. So if you can't decide on which game to buy, buy this!

Only if you have nothing better to do...

Very limited in the captivating department...I would recommend this game only if you have nothing better to do.
