Great Game

This game was fantastic. The gameplay was very fun and I enjoyed using the different pixis and 3D mode to explore the environments. The only problem with the game is that is has very lengthy dialogues, which you will tend to skip after reading so much. Other than that, this was an excellent game, especially for fans of the original games

Another amazing Paper Mario game!

I LOVE this game. My only complaint is, like some others, I do think it is a bit easy. The humor that is so prevalent in the past Paper Mario games is back this time around as well. There are a few minor RPG elements (meaning that you can upgrade your characters) but this is definitely an action game. My 10 year old daughter loved the game as well. Every Wii owner should have Super Paper Mario! Galaxies can't come soon enough!!!

This is a great game. A bit different from the old school mario in that its more like an RPG in that mario has hitpoints, attack power, and defense power. The beginning is kind of slow but its still alot of fun. If you're a mario bros. fan definitely need to give this game a go.

Better than the last game!

I got Super Paper Mario about a week ago. I couldn't wait for it to come. I was hoping the game would be just as great as the last one. So when it came I started playing nonstop for 8 hours. I was wrong - Super Paper Mario is better than the Thousand Year Door.
The first thing I noticed about the game was the better graphics. In the last game everything seemed a bit dark and gloomy. But in SPM, the screen looked happier and brighter. Even though it is unrealistic to have a clean, peaceful city in a sea of chaos, it still makes the game look better.
The second thing I noticed was the music. It is considerably better than in the Thousand Year Door. It is more upbeat and is composed of better sound effects so you don't have to listed to gay "boing" sounds during the last level.
Now the storyline. Everybody is sent to the evil Count Bleck's dungeon except Mario, who is awoken by a Pixl named Tippi. Mario is then flipped to Flipside, the dimension between worlds, and meets Merlon, who tells Mario to basically stop the destruction of all worlds. And to do this he will need to collect the 8 pieces of the purity heart and eliminate Bleck and the Chaos Heart.
The next thing I noticed was the excessive amount of talking. Even though I was mindlessly hitting 2, I wondered what they were talking about. But the good part in this was that it didn't matter what they were saying, it all meant nothing.
The big thing in the game is the ability to switch from 2-D to 3-D. See a huge spiked ball coming down a cliff? See 1000 thwomps, well, thwomping the room? Then FLIP!
After a few hours of playing, I had met quite a few more Pixls. And boy do they kick butt! You can throw stuff, bomb enemies, avoid attacks, stomp on things, and even ride over those cursed spikes and a lot more! It is always great to see a new Pixl because you never know what to expect. Another thing that was very unusual was the YOU GET TO PLAY AS BOWSER 24/7! AWESOME! You also get to play as Peach and Luigi. They're useless though.

Anyone with a Wii has to be sick of every game on the console being a Mario, Wario, paper mario, playdouch mario, toilet paper mario or mario party. My god!!!! Why buy a system to play only predictable, rehashed, mario games for 10 years ago.

Not for smaller kids!

Okay, I admit that I personally am not video game savvy, so maybe there is some prejudice here. But my 7-year old grandson plays video games all the time, so I think I can speak for him.

From what we could tell from the time we loaded this game is that there is a lot of reading required. And I don't mean short instructional type info. They want you to get the whole story and the whole background of whatever is happening but it is wa-a-ay too indepth and complicated to keep the interest of a 7-year old, not to mention the vocabulary (including character names) are often well beyond that of a child.

Luckily, I only paid 19.99 for this game as an Amazon special. I am hoping I can sell it to someone and at least get back some of this cost. In the future, I will be sure and read the reviews before I take the (E)rating as meaning that it is kid-friendly.

Boring

Mario sets out on his most boring review. To much talking and not enough action. Very few rpg elements that used to be present. Oversimplified gameplay that children wouldn't enjoy because of the huge amount of text.

good game

good game for ppl who can't really play 3D games like me. good starting point to get used to playing in 3D. can be long if you don't use the walk through. overall, great and addictive game.

What a disappointment...

This is one of the most boring games on the Wii. The game is so short you can beat it in less than a week, then you want to trade it to the store again. It just plain sucks. You will regret buying this.
