Great game-a bit heavy on dialogue, but very creative and addictive. Right behind zelda in my book (so far).

Great Family game

My six year old son loves this game and it still has some puzzle solving for the adults. Not difficult at all (in fact 75% not even callenging). I wish it employed the Wii remote more. I found it very very predictable but the mario franchise it still fun and this game has alot of nastalgia for the original super mario. Anyone that loved the first will be giddy with all the references to it.

Nice game but not the best

Fans of classic Mario games will enjoy the platforming and enemy-pouncing in 2D. Fans of the more modern games will enjoy the 3D aspects, switchable characters, and RPG elements. It has it's weak points, but overall it's a great game. There are two crowds that may be disappointed. The first is the graphics nuts. The game does not push the Wii to it's full potential, not by a long shot. The game has an intentionally simple style, and no graphical upgrades have been made since it was scheduled for a Gamecube release. The second crowd that may have a problem with this game are those who preferred the turn-based style of previous Paper Mario games.

The game has a surprisingly deep storyline for a Mario-branded title. There are many plot twists, many characters, and plenty of humor. The main playable characters are Mario, Peach, and Bowser. They don't tell you on the box, but Luigi will also be playable towards the end.

Super Paper Mario is a genuinely hard game. You won't die often, but the puzzles make it a real challenge. Those puzzles are what the game is really all about. There are several ways that items and pathways can be hidden, and searching for them is a real test.

First, some objects, pathways, characters, enemies, and other important things can only be seen in 3D. You have to use Mario and switch to 3D to see them, but since your 3D time is limited you cant just go around searching that way. Second, Some objects are completely invisible. By turning the Wii Remote around and pointing to the screen you can use a spotlight to search for invisible objects and then make them visible. Third, there are various ability-enabling spirits called Pixls. Sometimes you have to equip the correct Pixl and use its ability to open up a new path or traverse a hazardous area. It gets trickiest when they use these puzzle types together. For example, you may have to flip to 3D to be able to see a cracked spot on the floor, then use the Pixl "Boomer" to bomb the area and reveal a hidden area.

You will wish the game was longer, but only because it's so much fun. To extend the replay value, there are a total of 256 cards to collect, 96 recipes to discover, 46 treasures to find.

This is a game that's easy to pick up and play and it has a unique 2D to 3D "flip" system anlong with an old school mario feel to it. It's a lot of fun to play.

A must-have for any platformer/RPG fan.

At first, you might be confused with the genre: Is it a platformer or an RPG? Though it follows the visual style of Paper Mario for the N64 and the sequel for Gamecube, this game is mainly a 2-D platformer. However, you do level up and use items. Another interested feature is flipping between 2-D and 3-D. It may seem weird, but this game is very fun.
Presentation: 9/10
This game runs in 480p and 16:9 widescreen, and while the 2-D worlds are vibrant, the 3-D "parts" are slightly lacking.
Visuals: 9.5/10
Classic sound effects dot the worlds. Some backround music is perfect, others are blaring.
Sound: 7.5/10
The 2-D/3-D gameplay works well, and the platmorming is reminscent of old Mario games. However, the boss battles are very easy.
Gameplay: 9/10
A very fun game.
Overall: 9/10

This was the first Wii game I actually bought and played ever since I've purchased Wii more than two months ago! I had been played it for four days now and am currently on chapter 5-1 and got stuck thanks to some ridiculous puzzle! I guess I DO need the Nintendo Power guide after all. Anyway, I really liked everything the game has to offer except for one thing, the storyline! Even though I never finished this game yet, I already am able to figure out what this game is all about! Yes, although I won't get into any details but it actually is a very simple sad soap opera which is a very disappointment to say the least.

GREAT GAME; BUY OR DIE!

I got this game one day after I first bought my Wii and was honestly not so excited because I hadn't heard of any of the games... I bought this one and when i started playing I noticed it was an incredibly fun game. The game goes that theres some guy who wants to destroy the worlds using the Dark Prognosticus. Then comes good old Mario and it turns out that he's the hero spoken of in the Light Prognosticus that is the only one that can stop the Bleck guy. So you have to get the light hearts to help you defeat Bleck. It is not only fun and easy to play, but it challenges you without getting too frustrating. Remember...when in doubt, just flip...

move over princess, mario is mine!
