Originally slated for release on the Gamecube, Super Paper Mario has instead been brought to the Wii with spectacular results. For those who haven't played any of the previous games in the series, the Paper Mario series is different from typical Mario games in the sense that it combines elements of RPG's with the tried and true Mario style platforming. Graphically, Mario and the rest of the characters on screen look like animated cardboard cutouts, though this is a lot more charming than it sounds. For those who are familiar with the series, you may be pleased to know that the turn based fighting style is gone and in place is the typical Mario branded side scrolling, platforming adventure style that we all know and love. What really makes Super Paper Mario so engaging however is the game's combination of 2-D and 3-D elements which switch on the fly during gameplay. This feature allows for the player to discover new paths and hidden secrets that really up the replay value and overall gameplay experience, while providing solid and fun support for the Wii remote as well. The game itself is lengthy and holds your interest, while offering typical Mario mainstays like Luigi, Princess Peach, and even Bowser as playable characters that join our favorite Italian plumber. A previous review stated negatively that Super Paper Mario is a game for children. While all Mario games have a childlike aspect and feel to them (then again, how old were we when we all discovered the joys of playing Mario), the gameplay itself is timeless, and regardless of age, is as enjoyable as ever. All in all, Super Paper Mario is one of the best games available at this moment for the Wii, and further proves the notion that Nintendo's magic touch is as prevelent as ever.
Great Fun for the Wii

I am a Sony Xbox guy, so the way i see it, the two power houses systems are better then the Wii. But Paper Mario is one of the very few Wii games that is actually fun and can be in the big times. The game is easy enough for kids, and fun enough for adults. A side from a actually story line, its your basic mario with a few Wii style twists.
The game is fun for all ages and a must have for the Wii. Do go buy it, and enjoy.
Great Game

A bit too much dialogue in this one but if you don't mind it is great fun and quite challenging towards the end of the game.
not my favorite mario game, but can be fun.

My cousin let me and my brother rent a game for our wii. We found super paper mario and grabbed it. We started playing and we found that there is some dumb things in the game. It's also very short so I recomend this game to kids about 10 and under. I'm 12 and liked it at parts but it was kinda....well....dumb, yet fun.
Fun on all sides!

This game is endearing, engrossing, and extremely fun! It has a little of the RPG-style text-heaviness, but all of that dialog is witty and well-written. The gameplay is brilliant! It really pulls you in and makes you want to play more. The 3-D element and the Pixls are a great touch! I love it all around!
Great game, if you can get past the beginning.

When I first started playing this game, I hated it and was bored. I'm not your typical ADD youngster, but I get a little bored when there is too much text in a video game of this genre. Once you get about 30 minutes into the gameplay, though, it is a LOT of fun and you can spend a bunch of time trying to find all the hidden stuff and doing all the side quests. I'd buy it again.

The boy loves this game and I enjoy sitting next to him watching him play. Never thought about playing a game in 2D/3D switchable environment, truly clever! Amazon's service is outstanding with fast deliver.

Super Paper Mario is a truly great game. Finding a way to combine classic Mario platforming with some RPG elements is no easy task, but Nintendo pulled it off flawlessly. You can swap out your characters or your 'pixels' to use various abilities or use one of many items to defeat your enemies. The swapping to the 3rd dimension just adds that much more to the gameplay as often you wont be able to advance without doing so. The story is a little odd but provides some humor here and there. Although the game can be completed in about 20 - 25 hours, there's still plenty to do afterwards.
great but I highly advice a stradigy guide if your new at games (sorry about spelling)

When I bought this home (first wii game other than wii sports)I thought it was gonna be stupid which it is. However it's EXTREMLY fun. The only problem is that the puzzles are hard unless you got a stradigy guide. Which then the are easy, but if your a fan of puzzle games, super mario bros, super mario rpg, heck even a little mix of the extremly bad mario 2(theres a power in which you pick up and through items just like smb2),but if your a fan of just 1 of them (or all of them) buy it NOW!!

The Mario franchise has been famous over it's lifetime to give out diffrent spinoffs of Mario, and the Paper series has always been a heavy hitter in that department, but this time, instead of bring out the Louisvile Slugger, it was more of a minor leaguer, pumped with roids.
Super Paper Mario was a game I had really high hopes for, and it filled most of them. For instance, flippin into 3D is pretty cool, but you always want to do that in every room to find all the goodies. Thats fine and all, but it takes to long. You do get to play as 4 characters(mario, peach, bowser, and luigi), and each character can do special moves, but you only use them once or twice throughout the game. Also, only Mario can flip to 3D, so, you havta press start, go to character selection, get Mario, then flip into 3D, it dosent take to long but I liked using Bowser, so it'd be nice if there was a button to switch characters, you know, like theres buttons to flip through weapons in FPS. Another downfall is the amount of talking in the game. Most of it is funny, especialy if it comes from the main character, but when you speak to the old fart in Flipside, who talks about the prophicy(he's a main character, so you hear him alot) and all that, it goes on, and on, and on. Zaps the fun out real fast.
The combates real old school. Takes you back in the day of NES when you had to run and jump on the baddies, not like the last Paper, when you were on a stage and it was like Pokemon when you went one at a time. Getting to be gynormus is real cool, they make you 100ft tall, and your all pixlated like back in the old, block looking Mario, theres not to much of that and it doesen't last long. Some more of that would've been nice
I'd recommend this game if you absolutly love the Paper franchise, if not, buy the Thousand Year Door(Paper for the Gamecube, $20). Don't rent, you won't make a dent in the game at all.
