awsome game

this was one of the best games i've ever played and the story line is awsome too. the geo technology is totaly awsome and it made the game twice as cool! If you have a PS2 and you don't buy this game you just wasted a perfectly good PS2. this will certainly be the best game around for a looooonnnnngggg while.

Please at least PLAY the game before you review

This game is one of if not the best game out right now. You freaks that say the Geo mod is a gimmick crack me up. Finally when you shoot a rocket laucher at a wall or what ever, it takes a pretty good sized chunk out of it. If reality is a gimmick then please stay in your pretend little world. And sure you can't blow EVERYTHING up, cause if you could then you might not be able to progress with your game. The action is intense. The Multiplayer w/bots is the best I've seen to date. There is no reason why you shouldn't buy this game. Period.

And one more thing. Don't you freaks think you should maybe play the game before you give it a bad review. When I was reading the review above with the guy busting on Geo Mod hardcore and then adds (I haven't played it yet), I thought it was a joke. I mean come on, Get a grip on yourself. Play the game, and if you like it, give it a positive review. If you don't like it, give it a negative review. Just make sure you know what your talking about before you start chirping. I don't think that is too unfair to ask, is it?

If blowing your own foxhole in the ground to jump in and mow everyone down is a gimmick, then go back to your keyboard and mouse and click your way through Doom 10.

THQ made games like until now the best 1st person shooter, Golden Eye, horrible and boring. THQ introduced a thing called Geo-Mod, which enables you to blow up walls and pillars ect. Lets say the door is locked, all you do is blow a hole around it. This game has a cool story and is fun and suspenseful all at once. This is a must own for Playstation2.

For all those reviews that gave this game less then a five, email me, and tell me where i can find what you were [thinking]. I can't even put this game into words.Its gonna go down into the history books as a classic. GRAPHICS, SOUND, PLAYBILITY, what else could go wrong. i don't care what type of games you like, get this one, it won't let you down!!

Okay I really am enjoying this game! I bought it Friday 5/25 couldn't play it until late Saturday (Was cooking on the Grill all Day!) Started playing it and was enjoying every minute of it!!!!! May be a lil easy for some but was what I needed; Timesplitters has really been kicking my tail on the Medium Levels!!! Some part are a lil confusing but that's because your so used to the action your not ready to take some time and think it through. I don't know who said it was slow but they were wrong, the enemies are not as agressive as timesplitters but I don't think they should be. I have only made it as far as the submarine but hey I'm over thirty and have to go to work sometime!!!! This was an overall worthy purchase. I didn't want to give it 5 stars cause I haven't gotten to the ending yet so far I am enjoying it!!! I do believe it's better than Quake III;

I'll be frank. I purchased this game because it was cheap and I miss the old Doom shoot'em ups so I was feeling a bit nostalgic. But I must say that Red Faction is not a very good game. The graphics look like something from Super Nintendo, the controls will definitely get you wacked if the monkey enemies disquised as humans don't kill you first and the character voices! My god I though I was hearing people talk through a pillow being stuffed in their faces. Purely Awful!

Red Faction. A resistance group, trying to bring down Ultor, the mining corporation on Mars. Promising a good life and a good living, miners head to Mars by the shuttle full, only to find broken dreams, and broken bones. Living conditions are horrible. Miners are beaten by the gaurds, and suits and beds are shared between shifts. Red Faction is urging the Miners to take action. Their leader, Eos, is a specific threat. Your character, Parker, is leaving from his shift one day, and witnesses a miner being brutally murdered. He is faced the an ultimatum: Kill, or be killed. Can you live long enough to be a hero? Maybe. Red Faction is a killer FPS game. Literally. You start out with no weapons, and no means of attack, but you'll get a nice little riot stick to start with. From there, you'll battle your war through Science Facilities, Executive Buildings, and even Space Stations. Using your wits as much as your guns, you'll battle Riot Guards, Mercenaries, and your every day guard toting rocket launchers, shotguns, assault rifles and of course, pistols. Dont forget the 5 hijackable vehicles. The sub, the airship, the driller, the hummer with a nice little Machine gun, and the armored tank. This game is fun. If you have ever played an FPS, go get it, you'll love it. The story rules, the game looks great, and best of all, its not some flimsy POS easy as sneezing FPS. I got throught the first half in about a week. Now, i'm stuck fighting mercenaries by the truckload. ON EASY. If you are too scared, go back to reading reviews, if not, Join the Revolution. Time to answer that question. Will you live long enough to be a hero?

Geo-Mod is the next step in the evolution of video games

I never knew this game came out until I heard some of my friends talking about it, and what really grabbed my attention was that they said anything in the game can be blown up. I'm a huge fan of FPS games, and so with the evesdropping of my friends' info and whatnot I decided to get this game. It was unbelieveable, the graphics[by the way, the [person] who said that the graphics in this game look like something from the SNES, ignore him], the gameplay, every single thing in this game rocked. Anyone who says this game is short is complaining about something unimportant, it's fun and that's the main thing. The storyline kinda sounded similiar to Quake in a sense, but it's better than Quake because you can alter the enviornment and kill some enemies in the process. At one point I was going through a canyon and there were some guards on and below a rocky bridge, so I thought I would shoot the ones at the top first. I was utterly surprised when I hit the bridge and rocks came down and actually killed the guards on the bottom. This game is so much better than Half-Life, it's way more realistic and there are a variety of vehicles you can drive. There's a hummer with a machine gun in back, a sub fighter, an air fighter, a driller, and a armored transport. This game can get a little frustrating at times especially during the times where you have to be really stealthy, but that's nothing. Get this game, and ignore anyone who disses it because they wouldn't know a good game if they played one.

I won't get into too much detail. This game is incredible. It is deep and challenging and rewarding. Iv'e had it for over a year and I still love playing it. Stop reading reviews and order this game right now!!!!

This game has to truly be one of the best FPSs out there for several reasons. First off, the controls are nearly perfect, and you really don't suffer from fatigue that easily. Next, the graphics are spectacular from the effect of the fallen soldiers and guards in your way. Furthermore, the storyline and the characters are actually very much believable. The only other FPS currently that falls into this category is Medal of Honor: Frontline. For example, the main character attempts to hit on Eos, the female boss of the revolt, on the end,and he gets turned down. Also, the cinematics in this game are actually fairly decent. You aren't per se forced into the storyline like Half-Life, but you are persuaded to join the revolt because you are instantly being attacked by guards once the revolution begins. Lastly, there have been very intense moments in this game, unlike Unreal, Quake, Half-Life or the other myriad of FPSs that I've played. The only game coming close was Deus Ex where all hell broke loose in some levels.

There are some faults in the game however. First, the levels aren't sometimes entirely destructive, but that's neither here or there. Next, the AI of your allies are absolutely stupid. They run into gunfire, and you are better bumping them off early. Lastly, the multiplayer levels aren't as good as Quake's, but they are sufficient to play in.

Red Faction 2 is supposed to be a much better improvement than the original. Overall, this game is a really well-done FPS, and at this price, you should definitely consider buying it.
