The truth...for once.

Okay, here is the short version.. 1) Graphics are great. 2) The single player is great. 3) The multiplayer is great. 4) Most of the walls/doors/columns can be destroyed. 5) You can save at any time, and for busy people like me... this is a godsend. 6) Weapon selection that is useful *and* fun. In ways that Q3's weapons are not. That's it. Not the greatest game on the planet, but it is very close.

Okay, I've played a lot of awesome FPSs in my life, like Medal of Honor and Half-Life, but this game blows them all away. Great graphics, an okay storyline and some awesome multiplayer gaming combine to make the perfect game. The sound is awesome, oh, and by the way, if you liked the movie Total Recall, this game will bring back a few memories. The Geo-Mod feature is cool, in a deathmatch versus 5 really hard bots, I took a rocket launcher, blew a hole in a wall, hid in there with a sniper rifle and kicked some butt!!The deaths leave something to be desired, it isn't like in Medal of Honor, when you shoot someone in the leg, they hobble around limping,etc, the dying is all the same regardless of where you shoot the enemy. All in all, who whould not want this game?

Quality game on PS2...finally!!

After purchasing many games with stunning graphics, finally I found a quality game! This game reminds me of Wolfenstein because of the point of view, but the similarities are few and far between after that. The game starts out throwing you right into the mix, dodging enemies in the mines while you search for weapons. I love the fact that you don't have to work too hard to get more advanced weapons. After about two hours of play I had the shotgun, rocket launcher, pistol, assault rifle...and a few others. Also, you can save at your leisure. I always detested games that made saving a task, especially if you have to go to work and you lose all the ground you gained because you couldn't find a place to save. Although I haven't beaten the game yet, I had to review it to let everyone know that if you can get past some frustration early while you adjust to the controls, this game will be one to keep. A few lines from one of my favorite Metallica songs sums this game up... "Runnin' on are way hidin' you will be dyin' a thousand deaths... Searchiiiin' SEEK AND DESTROY!!

From the opening of the game the action starts. This is one of the nicest games on PS2 that I have played. The action and the ability to do everything in real time is unbelievable. Only one problem the controls are a little tough to get a handle on and can cause you to get killed.

This game rocks!! It has an excellent single player game and great multiplayer action for 2 people. In some of the deathmatch maps, you can blow holes in the walls and make endless tunnels and hiding places to camp when the fighting is too intense! I only wish the vehicles in the single player game could be used in the multiplayer part though, which would have opened up new modes of play for. Overall, this game is a must buy for any shooter fan out there! Good storyline, addictive multiplayer play, and hours of endless gaming fun!! Red Faction is at the top of my favorite ps2 games list.

To say the least ... this game is very entertaining. Gameplay is great and the weapons and vehicles at your control make it even more exciting. I was pleasantly surprised with the graphics and gameplay. I am a big "007 Bond" fan and was hoping for something close ... this definitely was!!! The only problem is that is was too easy to beat! I finished this game in 3 days ... and then decided to trade it in for something new!!! If your looking for an entertaining game that won't take you very long to beat .. then go out and rent this one. If you decide to buy, it is still a worthy title to have in your collection!!!

Are you sick of when you shoot a rocket to a wall, and nothing happens? Well, in this game you can blow up alot of thing. You can kill people on from another room with the Rail Driver!

Out of all the playstation games i have played this has to be the best! I really recommend this one! The cool thing about it is that you can do things like blow up walls and hide bodies. The only thing i dont like about this game is that it has to load during the game.

i recently rented this game and let me tell you it' like goldeneye for n64 but you can also control vehicules and blow up walls and stuff it's awesome

When I watched the opening movie at the start of the mission, I was a little dissapointed with the graphics as the charactors had a very low polygon count.However this doesnt matter because its an fps.The actual levels look great. When you first start out the controls will seem a little awkward. If you go through the tutorial(you definetly should), youll get the controls down better and it wont be long and they'll feel fine. Also the overall diversity of the game. The vehicles are something youll definetly look forward to and there are covert levels where you will be in disguise but be careful to not get to close to the guards. I definetly recommend Red Faction to anyone who enjoys good action gaming.
