This game is a ... james bond. you are stuck on another planet and the workers have revolted and you must escape. I probibly shouldn't of written a review for this game because i haven't got passed the first level it is to complicating. if you like to be puzzeled and stumped this is a game for you. also very boring. must use both joy sticks to controll your guy.

... This game has great graphics and is a great game to play. Multiplayer is extremley fun and you can play it for hours with friends. A great single player mode and it's the best game made of it's class.

This is the best multiplayer shooter on the PS2. You can blow holes in walls and hide in them and rocket the hell out of people when they walk by! i have this game and unreal and let me tell you Unreal is a joke compared to this game. There is only 2 players and bots but come on, unless you have a 90 inch tv 4 player split screen is a bore. Oh yeah, one player mode rocks as well!

Personally, I am don't like people who trash a game and haven't even played it. If you want to give your opinions, at least go to Blockbuster or a video store and rent the stupid thing first. Anyway, this game...[is great]. I love first-person shooters. I can never find one that I can just keep playing, but this one has it all. Don't have a access card? Blow the wall out and walk on through. Have as much fun as you want with this one.

i don't want to waste too much time on this crappy game... it's just not good at all, and it's pretty funny how everyone keeps saying it's good just because other people and game review sites say it is. maybe it's because this game was made years ago, before better games came along. whatever. nothing sets this game apart as fun or special, be it graphics or gameplay or story.

Red faction is one of my favorite FPS. Geo-mode techonlogy is freaking awsome, cuz you get to blow up anything.
Pros:
A very innovating gameplay system
A very good selection of guns
Very nice multiplayer setup(Even fun to play alone agaist 6 bots)
Nice Story
You can blow anything up TYTE!!
Computers have nice AI
In multiplayer the computers put up one hell of a challange
The Fusion rocket launcher, THATS THE BABY!!
nicely paced game
And it's only 19 bux, sweet
This is definitly a groundbraking game for FPS
Cons:
The computers definitly get repetitive
When I want to stay with a gun I pick something supposedly stronger up and I don't want to use it then die when I try to swich
When u die, sometimes you scream with a pitchy hi voice
It's hard to be a good shot with the raildriver
Aw man if this was 4 player, I could [beat] all of my friends, insted of one at a time and listenin to thier BS
Sometimes the game can be comlicated at parts

A very good FPS, altho it falls short of Goldeneye, and Halo. This is definitly a very good FPS, and altho I haven't played the sequel, If u want a good FPS for the PS2, I'd start with Half-Life or this, both are good games.

Its probably the worst FPS i ever played... dull, schematic, boring... As a c-grade western film... If u like FPS games u can play it, but you will not find any real thrill in it.

I liked this game a lot up until it ended. It was TOO SHORT. The game box says: "Wage was through 20 vast levels" 20 levels?!? I don't think so! You can't tell when a level stops or when a level begins! Here is a summary of them game: You start to rebel against the mining company you work for, because some woman on the intercomm tells you too. Then someone named Hendrix all of a sudden becomes your friend, and has the ability to see and talk to you all the time, even though you only see him once throughout the whole game. You play a little, kill some gaurds, then LOAD the next area. You play for 3 to 4 minutes, then you LOAD the next area. Then you play for another 3 to 4 minutes, then you LOAD the next area. Multiply my last 2 sentences by about 30, and that's the whole game. There are simply too many loading points. There are only 2 bosses, and they are way too easy. The game is just way too short! The graphics are okay, but not as good as they could be. The storyline could also be a lot better, and longer.

The good things about this game are that the multiplayer is very fun, even if you're playing alone against computer players; their AI is good. It's fun to use the rocket launcher to blow out a space in the wall that you can sit in, and become a pillbox using the heavey machine gun. The alterable terrain feature of this game is wonderfull; almost any rocky material will be blown away using explosives. If there's no door, make a door. The game also has a good array of weapons; different weapons are better for differnet situations. Another good feature of this game is the saving system. You can save your game anywhere you want, whenever you want. This is a big help.

Overall, this is an okay game. I recommend only renting it. If you play it for a couple hours each day for 5 days or so, you'll be done with it. I thought it was too short, but you might feel differently depending on how good you are and how long it takes you to do things. Hopefully, Red Faction 2 will be a lot better; I'm definately trying it!

This game has decent graphics and pretty good AI but the controls stink. All of the first person shooters for PS2 are like this, except bond. When you want to turn durections, you have to use both joysticks, and thats dumb. If you want a shooter game, get bond, its not as good as goldeneye was but its still fun, and it has a kickin' muiltiplayer game.

the best part of this game is glancing over all the destruction you have created after a firefight; large gaping holes in the rock walls, broken concrete structures, scorch marks all litter the landscape after an entanglement with the enemy. unfortunately, the enemy moves as though perpetually stuck on axle grease which makes them very hard to hit when aiming manually. this brings up another beef of mine: auto aiming is generally a MUST; when playing with auto aim off, it took forever to kill bad guys because they glide across the terrain in an erratic manner. the a.i leaves quite a bit to be desired too. it's good but could be better (with definite anticipation for r.f2) i can't even play this after having played halo.
