Near-Perfect!!

Let`s get one thing out of the way: this is no Half-Life beater.It`s definetely the best fps out on the ps2 right now though, as it has this groovy geo-mod engine.This allows you to enter a new dimension of fps gaming,as it allows you to blow holes in walls, unlike quake 3, half-life and unreal, which only showed bullet holes on walls, even when you used a rocket launcher!It ain`t perfect though, as there is some pretty awful slow-down when the screen gets busy.

Red Faction may be the best game on the PS2 at this time(or at least until MGS 2 comes out). The graphics are incredible, and so is the gameplay. But, the best thing about Red Faction is the use of Geo-Mod Technology. Anything can be destroyed with the rocket launcher, even the walls. The only thing that could have been better was the multiplayer mode. You can only have 2 players, not 4. But there are computer players so you can play multiplayer by yourself. If you like first-person shooters, you will love Red Faction. I highly reccommend it!

This game is simply one of the best games i have ever played it takes elments of half life and goldeneye and combines them with new technology. Such as the walls exploding. there is a wide variety of weapons and environments. you can also play multiplayer with just one person against bots or 2 player with or without bots. it is incredible. i recommend this game to anyone.

Definitely not for the "kiddos" kind of game. I love to play it once they have gone to bed. It is a great game to just hang out, zone out, and eat some beef jerky while playing. It lasts pretty long from what I can gather already. Worth the money especially since it is has went down so cheap. Shoot em up adventure with pretty graphic scenes. Love it.

I recently bought red faction and I love it! There are a couple of downsides. first you have to get used to the analog controls of the ps2 second the crosshairs line up on your target and you still miss the target.There are some parts where you walk through other characters. I think the pc version of this game would be the half-life of 2002!

Let me just start out by saying, Red Faction, is the best FPS Ive played on PS2. The story is interesting, the charactors are believable (For a videogame) and the gameplay is excellant. I must say though, what excites me most about this game is the Geo Mod engine. This allows you to actually blow things apart, instead of getting little dents on the wall, when you use weapons. Granted, its FAR from perfect. But I dont think "perfect" is something we will ever see on the playstation 2. But I look forward to the systems we may see in the future, how will the Geo-mod engine change our gaming expieriences in the future? I dont know, I hope this isnt the last we see of it though. I gave Red Faction a perfect rating because It fits my criteria for a good game. First off, the gameplay is spectacular, although enimies can take too long to kill, Graphics are good, it has multiplayer, and a solid selection of weapons. This is deffinetly the kind of game you should buy if you liked half-life, or halo.

This game is the bomb! I bought the game, the day it came out and I got the last copy! You play as Parker, a miner for the Ultor Corporation on Mars. Lured by false promises of high adventure and return to an easy life on Earth, the miners realize that life on Mars is a living hell. The guards beat them at random, the barracks and bathrooms are trash and the food is waste. There is also a mysterious virus spreading through the barracks called the Plague, killing people left and right.Ultor says they are doing everything they can, but the reality is different. People believe that Ultor is letting them die, and others believe they are spreading the plague. A band of survivors found a group called the Red Faction and proceed to steal weapons and vehicals. There is a revolution on the horizon and all it needs is a spark. That spark is you.......

I just got this game today...It's great. But I was expecting 60 frames per second, like timesplitters. But it's about 30, and it doesn't slow down that much. The graphics are good..and about that geo mod technology, you can't destroy everything..

Still, this game is great. Some great features is the ability to save your game anywhere. Awesome weapons, and smart AI too. Well I'm glad I bought this..it's worth it.

This game is totally worth buying. But has areas that are frustrating and make u wanna through the controller against the wall. The lack of 4 player multiplayer really hurts also. I love FPS and this game is one of the best for a single player adventure.

Hey Red Faction is a great game! For all of you who like 1st person shooters this is the game. The only bad thing is that once you die thats it, you don't have any lives or anything. But overall this is the best 1st person shooter I've ever seen.
