Hey after long months and some years of anticipatinting the greatest games of all, its here and i guarantee u wont be dissapointed! the graphics are great, the story is great and everything is great and challenging cause its not one of those games that u just go ahead and beat it in less than 2 hrs or a day. now i dont like to call anything perfect but this is the closests thing to perfect and u have to get it. Now, I played the first Metal Gear without a stragety guide and i rented that and beat it in 5 days rental ;) with just the instruction manual, and i just wanted to know does buying the stragety guide for MGS2 spoils the game or does it make u prepared?? i dont know and i dont care i just wanna play the game. so once again BUY THIS GAME!! ;)

I think that this is an excellent game and well worth your time. The only thing that I didnt like about it is that the story-line was very confusing. I probablly would have understood half of it if I had played MGS1. The next game I am going to buy for my playstation2 is MGS1, because I am totally lost in MGS2. By the way, Ive beaten this game twice! LoL

Metal Gear Solid 2 Very Good!

I love this game, it has some of the best graphics I have ever seen for PS2. I would definately recommend this very cool game to anyone who has a PS2 game console. I admit though that this game does have a goofy story line and extraordinary characters in it, but I do personally like tactical espionage in games with excellent graphics. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who doesnt like a good challenge though.

Alright let me first say that the cutscenes and the plot are great in this game. Don't listen to all those drama queens yapping that the cutscenes and the plot stinks.
Ok the game is broken down into 2 chapters so i'm going to rate each chapter.got it?..ok
The first chapter is the "Tanker Chapter" which you control Solid Snake, this is the best chapter, so let me put it into a scale from 1-10 10 being the best score.
Graphics-10(Great introduction,great visuals,effects,plot)

Gameplay-10(Solid Snake can hang from railings,punch,kick,snap necks,shoot tranquilizer darts..etc)
fun level-10(when your done with this chapter your gonna go back and play it again and again)
Sound-10(awesome sounds and music)
overall-9(i gave it a 9 because it's sooooo short in 30 minutes you'll be finished with this level,ok maybe 45 min.
Now to the horrid "Plant Chapter"
It's 2 years later your a rookie named Raiden and you have to infiltrate a big nuclear plant(oohhh the suspense..yeah right)
Graphics-5(cutscenes look good still but there is no backround change, the exterior of the plant is orange and i got so damned tired of that color it got annoying.
Gameplay-10(Raiden has the same moves as solid snake but Raiden moves more swift)
fun level-10(boss fights against vamp,fortune,fat man,diffusing bombs..etc)
Sound-10(still great sound and music)
Overall-7(bad backround effects bring the score 2 points down,you don't control solid snake 1 point off everything else is good) Overall for both chapters-8 so 4 stars

The game itself was great, the only bad part was it was too short of a game! The gameplay was awesome and the controls worked out great, but again it was too short but it is defiantly worth your money, so buy it!

This a superb game! if you have already played it for 10 minutes and found it boring, DONT GIVE UP!! it is quite boring, but it gets superb! u get loads of guns , like PSG-1's(sniper) SOCOM(handgun) and loads of others! i totaly recomend it! u get to be Solid Snake (Tanker mission) or Raiden (Plant-main mission and the longest) it is a SUPERB game!

Metal Gear Solid 2 is a really great game. The graphics on it are amazing and the story is brilliant but a little hard to follow if you just jump right in with MGS2 which is what i did. It's really challenging to try to go everywhere without being detected by gaurds.
The game is very realistic. For example, one of the items you can find is a cardboard box big enough for you to hide in. Well i got inside and went over to where a gaurd was patrolling and as soon as he rounded the corner I moved over into the hallway. He came back and realized that the box wasnt there when he left. So he pushed it with his foot and looked insideand then picked it up where he found me. After calling for backup they started searching for me and found me after conducting a SWAT-like search.They will also see bodies(which never disapear)or blood trails and follow them, radio the situation in, and call for backup.
Because of it's realisticness, awsome storyline, and complexity, MGS2 deserves a five star rating.

This game is flat-out awesome. The gameplay in perfect, the plot draws you in, and the setting is very inventive. It's a challenging game, but it's the most fun I've had in quite a while. The only problem is the cutscenes: they are WAY too long.

Here's the story. Solid Snake is back and yeah the graphics are going to be better due to the Playstation 2's performance. But the game is still great. The storyline is awesome. The only problems I had with this game is the fact that there are to much scenes in which the characters talk, but that's how they move the story along. Another problem was the character Raiden. He was the character that moved the game so slow. Luckily in the third installment of Metal Gear, Raiden won't be a character. The graphics are great. The game is so awesome.
Bottom Line: An instant classic.

this game is super the game play is exallent the graphics are perfect it's one of the best games I ever saw but I have one little problem I think there should be more Snake in the game you only play him in the tanker level when I played this game I thought that you'll switch back and forth between Raiden and Snake but you only play Raiden after the tanker level Raiden is a new person in foxhound and a rookie during the game you'll find out more about him any this is a great game you should rent it before buying it that way you'll get a better idea what I'm talking about.
