The second Metal Gear Solid game.

This game was released in 2001 and was a complete success in America and is still one. This takes place two years after Shadow Moses on a ship in New York, Right now the legendary Solid Snake is working with Hal Hammerich a.k.a Otacon and they both are known as the anti metal gear orginization. In this one there is a new metal gear-Metal Gear Ray a some time of amphibion metal gear. Well anyway there are two chapters in this game, The Tanker Chapter and The Plant Chapter. The only thing I don't like about this game is the fact that when you play the plant chapter you have to play with a new person named Raiden real named Jack and he is an amateur compared to solid snake but that was my only complaint to this game. Everything else was great and if you like more stuff then get substance which is a renewed version of Sons of Liberty but unless you are low on cash then get the original version which is now on the greatest hits list. I HOPE YOU GET THIS WONDERFUL GAME.

MGS2 was the most stunning game I have ever played. I thought the game was well directed and had good visual and audio effects. If you are a: shooter fan, role playing fan, or jest plain adventure fan you need to get this game. It shouldn't be to expensive buy is new under $20.00 everything else is too expencive.
And some word of advice," If you ever get stuck call from your codec or re-trace your steps.
The funest part of the game (in my opinion)is when you play raiden and you and the great snake are battling your way out of arsonal gear.
I cant wait untill MGS3 comes out, its back to the jungle.

I licked this game vary much... it is very stealth, I like its mission they are towough. I like challenging. Game this is fun it 2 parts are both vary diffurent. I prefer the farst part... I prefer to like it best. I thank the game couldnt be better. Thes game is one of the games of the yeer... simple game year! I advise you to buy this game becaze it is vary game. I think the level with Reaiden isn't vary gad... not gad at all! ITS GOOD! TRYST ME! BYE IT!

Raiden part is towougher but mo0re challenging... it requirez pachint... lots and lots of pachint. I thank this game.

This is one of the greatest games of the year I played and beat every single MGS. But when i played this one it was very easy even on hard. Overall this is a great game and a must have for all MGS fans.

After I played the first installment of MGS, I decided to buy this game. I was not disappointed. While most veterans of MGS1 dislike this game because you don't play as Snake, I saw it as a worthy sequel. The graphics are superb and this game is even more suspensful. Overall a must get especially at these prices.

Im a huge fan of the Metal gear Series,the first one i played was the one for game boy and since then i cant stop playing this games.

theres a little drawback that i will mention later but for now, to the point.

the first mission that the game throws you its a kind of tutorial in wich you could explore the controls and diferent actions, i particularly enjoy stealing dog tags from the soldiers because you need to be even more careful when aproaching the target.

Some new additions they added to this game its the ability to roll, its easier to avoid gun shots doing this, also you can hang on any bridge and do push-ups (well, this isnt as usefull not even for hiding), also you can catch the sentries and hide them on gaps on the wall or lockers.

And theres a good old clasic tricks like hiding in a card box or press against a wall and make the sneak missions easier.

The only thing thats the reason why i dont give this game 5 stars its because the %75 of the game you play as a little wussy/traumatized/militar dog/ girly looking Jack, a young soldier who doesnt even know why he its doing what he does and plus he has her girlfriend over his back pressing about their relationship when he is under heavy gun fire...... sound like a maxim story doesnt it?

Well, if you can stand all of the above for 1 hour or so, then you will start to really see whats happening behind the scene, the scheme of the patriots and the bond between some characters.

The best- sneak attack your oponents, steal their dog tags, kill gulls, scare guards and of course kill the bosses.

The worst- a sissy looking character

Rent this game, but don't buy it!

Before I get started, I'll give a little background information about myself. First, I'm a big MGS fan. Second, I really hoped that MGS2 would be super cool. Unfortunately, I was wrong.

The game is extremely short (took me 16 hours, with ~6 hours being cutscenes and dialogue), and after you've played it once, you'll never want to touch it again, unless you like plots that involve bisexual vampires... for all those people out there who call Hideo a genius, please explain to me the 'genius' behind the president grabbing your crotch in the game!

The reason this game gets 2 stars and not 1 star is because of superb graphics and good voice acting, and marginally fun gameplay (when you actually get to play).

This game has really good graphics and everything but it's just way to short. If they made it a little longer and they didn't put in so much ... talking it would've been so much better. Another thing is i want the ... stealth suit but you have to play the game like 10 times to actually get enough Dog Tags to actually get the ... stealth suit so thats another thing that [is not good] about MGS2.

All right. I know the game got a lot of hype because of it's great graphics, and it was the sequel to one of the greatest games of all time, but come on, this game flat out [stinks]. The gameplay is fun, When you're actually playing. 90% of the game is actually movie sequences. I played it through once watching all of them and it took about 16 hours. I played it through again and skipped them, and it took maybe about, 3-4 hours, if that tells you something. Overall a very disappointing game, but it does have a pretty good story so it got two stars.

The developers forgot what made MGS so enjoyable.

I became a huge fan of Metal Gear Solid on the PS One. So I was going nuts waiting for the release of MGS2. In fact, it was a major factor in my decision to buy the PS2.
Now on to the review...

First off, let me say the I love the improved game mechanics. The game play is improved and I like it. Now for the bad. The developers went from telling fairly simple straight-forward stories like the one in MGS to this new convoluted, confusing and over dramatic story in MGS2. The ending is especially unsatisfying and pointless. They also made the inexplicable decision of adding long movies that break up the game play far too much. All I can say is that if I wanted to watch a movie, I would have bought one.
