i beat this game within 3 weeks. i must have played it like 6 hrs a day!!!!! the plot is awesome. however, the cinematics can get a bit tedious. nevertheless, this is possibly the best game of all time. and i love the last line of the game, when snake is talking to otacon. 100 years ago. what the hell...

I'm totally new to the MGS series and I love it! My brother's friend recomended it to me one day and I was a little scepticle. Then when I went to the store to get it, it was only 20.00. So I got it. Boy am I glad I bought this game!

First. I have read the reviews for this game and after playing this great game, what the people had to complian made me kind of fustrated. One thing is that people cired about the cut scenes. Personally, I like the cut scenes they were so good it made me want to watch them. It makes me feel like im in a movie and stuff. Also being new to this series you dont even have to had played the first to understand it. How could anyone not like this?

Second. Raiden. Ok so we dont get to play as Snake in the second chapter. Big deal, Raiden is cool and more acrobatic. I must say I was a bit disapointed when the tanker crashed and (you think) Snake dies, but you get used to Raiden and start to like him.

Overall the story is really just great. People say the story doesnt make since. They must be skipping the cut scenes or walking away while they are playing. I loved the story it really was cool. Finally, MGS2 is a great game and it is a greatest hit now for only 20.00. Dont wait until MGS3 comes out if ur new to this series. Buy now!

Blah! I know I'll end up with a 0/955 helpful ranking, but I just have to comment. I'm sorry, but I don't understand why this game was/is such a hit. Sure, it has great graphics and music (which is why it gets the extra star), but other than that...

The storyline is very complex. Apparently you have to get some metal gear pictures before the russians come or something. These cutscenes, as stated in previous reviews, take FOREVER. Half the time you don't even know what they're talking about, and you don't want to skip over it for fear you might miss something important. Then when it's finally time to actually PLAY the game, BAM! Horrid camera angle. Oh, and believe me, you don't get too far before you end up with another cutscene. And so goes the game.

I'm sorry, I really wanted to like this game, but I just can't get into it. If I wanted a spy movie, I would've rented one. If you want REAL action, stick with Vice City.

This game is without doubt a disgrace to PS1 MGS. The story just plain [bad] !!!! And what's with this only getting to play as Solid Snake for the very first part of the game then you play as this dorky character named (Raiden) through most of the game.I know I'm being very hard on this game but really this game is not very good at all !!.It has nice graphics and great control but the story really did it in for me.If you ask for my opinion rent it first.I wish i had.

This is a good action game.In this game you will gonna play wih two heroes Jack and Solid Snake.But i think that there is one thing which you will not like and that is that there are too much videos and less gameplay but overall this is the best game in ps2

Since I finished Metal Gear Solid, I couldn't wait for Metal Gear Solid 2 to come out! And all this anticipation has payed off! BUY THIS GAME, YOU WON'T REGRET IT! The detailed graphics, sound, characters, storyline, not to mention the moves, are all impeccable. Anyone who thinks that the X-Box will beat the PS2 is out of their mind. The PS2 has a gem with Metal Gear Solid 2. I hope another sequel comes out. For those who havent, I recommend playing Metal Gear Solid first. If you don't, you might get a little confused with the plot!

i have just beaten this game and let me tell you... its one of the greatest games you will EVER play... every thing from the first metal gear solid is here... the action... the drama... but i was kinda disapointed in the change of main characters from solid snake to raiden jack... its weird at first... but once you get into it... you wont want to stop... buy it!

If you like a good action movie: Armageddon, The Rock, etc., then you will love this game. Not only do get to sit and watch a good action movie (you can skip pass the animation sequences if you want), but you get to fight in the movie as well. Once you can master the gameplay and it becomes comfortable for you to move around and fight people, this game is great. It takes an hour or so to really get the hang of it, but once you do, the different camera angles, weapons, stealth methods, and enemies makes this game well worth the buy. I never played the first Metal Gear (what cave was I living in?) but from this game being my first Solid Snake experience, I would say definitely buy it.

Ok lets statrt of by saying this.Yes i did play the demo that came with ZOE for about 100 hours, i loved it-But the game, on a whole, is VERY diffrent from MGS on PS1.Dont think it will play the same, it doesnt, the story, although interesting, Is ofter very hard to follow.I like this game, I shouldve LOVED it, but i dont.Its worth playing just to see what all the hype was about, Even though it often does not live up to it.
