Fourth Best RPG Game on the Sony Playstation I've ever played. Top RPG's in my opinion in order.
First: Xenogears
Second:Final Fantasy VII
Third: Xenosaga III
Fourth:Final Fantasy X
Fifth: Final Fantasy XII

This is a great game. I beat it and it was very challenging with a gripping story line. 5/5.

I know it might sound unfair to rate an item that hasn't been released yet, but being a huge fan of the series I know that whether I write a review now or later it's gonna be the same thing cuz I love final fantasy too much to see through its flaws as some people who are not as obsessed might do. Anyways, I've played the demo, I love I love it I looooooove it.

You have to get this game! FFX is one of the most anticipated titles of the year. From what I've seen, the graphics are startling and amazing! FFX has a excellent story, graphics, Aeons(summons), and characters. The main characters are Tidus and Yuna. (...)Please buy this game!

great graphics - lame game

I bought this based on most of the other reviews. I thought it would be exciting. NOT! You have to sit there and watch these boring scenes and stupid storylines. Then you get a couple seconds of control. Some of the battles are fun, but you have to wait soooo long to get to them, it's not worth it. The worst thing is if you die, you have to sit through all the storyline AGAIN to get back to your battle. No cuts or fast-forwards. I still can't believe that! IF I RENTED IT FIRST, NO WAY WOULD I HAVE BOUGHT IT!

You should buy this game. This game is beautiful, dramatic story, and i dont know..it's just awsome..my whole point buying PS2 is for this game. I been played all series from FF 3, 7, 8 ,9 and can't wait to play this new sequel of Final Fantasy.

this game [stinks] the only good graphics are in the cut scenes. I think its about time final fantasy calls it quits.The only final fantasy is the last one you can only have one final fantasy.And all this crap about being a playstation original the game started on nintendo...

Do not buy this game, it has a bang-up storline like the producers didn't ever try, the characters were all screwed up. it was like watching an old bruce lee movie where they dubbed over the words in English but you could still see the person talking in chinese or something. the main character was so stupid, he was like a valley girl-never knowing what the hell was going on. if this game didnt have the Final Fantasy label on it, no one would have touched it. the only reason some poeple gave it 4 or 5 stars is cause they are nerdy hardcore ff lovers who need to get a life. one of the reasons i gave it 1 star is cause ive played 7-8-9 and they were ok. but this one, o my god, it was horrible. u coudnt even level up, u just get ponts to put into different skills after a few battles. i just hope they dont bring in the stupid blitz ball again, that was such a waste of time. the ony thing that was ok(not good, just ok) were the graphics...

This game came highly recommended by people who generally have similar taste in games as me, but I'm still trying to figure out why.
There's no question that the in-game graphics are impressive and the story-line is interesting. However the gameplay is nearly non-existant, and when you do happen to participate in some of the action the controls are either badly executed or unnecessarily complicated (i.e. the sphere grid or blitzball). Even the story is often poorly told, with stilted voices and hilariously bad character animation.
If I had to compare this game to some of Squaresoft's other efforts, it is similar to a mix between Final Fantasy 8 and Chrono Cross. But while those two games were generally frowned upon by RPG enthusiasts, Final Fantsy X has recieved almost universal praise. In short, I'm not so much disappointed with the game as I am baffled by its warm reception.

I got the game for Christmas and I'm really enjoying it. There are some interesting changes in this game from the previous FF's in the serious. Instead of battling enemies to gain morehealth and magic power you have to understand and use a new system called the sphere grid w/nodes. It's kind of complicated at first, but I'm starting to get used to it. The graphics are aweome through and through. They're so good that at times at I sit there watching a cinema and the cinema ends but the graphics are so good I think the cinema's still going on so I'm just sitting there for a second until I realize the cinema's over. I've read some complaints about the voice acting, and the only one that's bad IMO is the lead character Tidus. He sounds to goofy and easygoing in certain situations that call for more drama and panic. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because so for, because 1. there are too many cinemas and not enough action to my liking, although I really haven't gone too far in the game, and 2. There seems to be no room to explore. You follow a specific path and sequence of events.

I still recommend that any fan of RPGs at least try it out.
