LIKED
Weapon/Aeon Customization
Great Graphics
Immersive natural environments, but sometimes too "planned"
Unique Weapons
Voice Acting
A little more distinct characters
NPC Character variety
NPCS SAY MORE THAN ONE THING!
There are mean or impolite NPCS who aren't significant to the story.
The town changes when you come back(on certain towns).
No fire area, ice area, earth area, and wind area, then a deep dark dungeon.
After you get to Sin and have access to Omega, its easy to level up.
Familiar faces Shiva, Ifrit, Bahamut though I wanted more summons.
Overdrives and type variety, though its kinda hard to get them all.
Familiar system. Items, spell, overdrives, summons, etc.
Nearly clean-slate Final Fantasy. No materia, espers, crystals, etc. Though they don't explain how magic functions...
Arena guy with capturing monsters.
Decent mini-games, not great, but decent.
A slightly different story than other Final Fantasys. Tidus hates his alchoholic father, Auron was supposed be exiled, Yuna is half-exiled after her secret is discovered, Lulu's first summoner died, Wakka has never won a blitz game until the tournament, Kamari had his horn broke, some other stuff too.
More than one language, culture, or way of life.
DISLIKED
CAN'T SKIP MOVIES!!
Sphere system
Kamari didn't have a sphere system
Weak spells that can't target multiple enemies
Limited # of spells
No help for finding super secrets like the crests or the 200 lightning bolts without a guide.
Weak economics system compared to other FF, except for I.
Difficulty finding the right shop near the end of the game.
Type Based enemies (wakka for aerial enemies, tidus for fast, auron for piercing)
A free moving world such as every other FF but this one!(world map)
Free moving airship or more accurate. (I hated going to a check point and walking 10 mins to the one I wanted. Then once I got there I could leave at the check point inside a cave)
Weak monsters don't run away
I can't learn meteor
Ultima seemed weak and a little too long. I could use Tidus blitz ace with a damage break and do more damage. This made Lulu really weak later.
I wanted more chocobos for how much traveling I had to do.
What happened to the second moon?
Characters can be really unbalanced or not unbalanced enough.
I wanted a monster glossay of the enemies I fought.
Those stupid puzzles at the temples, I wanted to fight not put spheres in holes and rotate them around.
Blitzball. Yeah, the idea is great, but I thought the execution should have been more like a sports game. Not the rpg confrontation -Dribble, Pass, Shoot. I did like the idea of techniques though.
HUNTING DOWN SOME MONSTER I FOUGHT ONCE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME AND TRY TO GET HIM TO DROP HIS ITEM UNTIL I HAVE 60 OF THEM TO CUSTOMIZE AN ARMOR/WEAPON.
Dodging 200 lightning bolts.
Hunting down 10 cactaurs in the desert.
Figuring out what the crests do.
KO and death spells. Its either one or the other.
Being broken after getting stoned.
Imp isn't an Imp. Yes, there is an enemy called imp, but it belongs at the beginning of the game and shouldn't take more than one hit.
I have a dream that one day Square will give more than 3 songs to battles... instead of 1 normal battle song, 1 boss song, and 1 end boss song. Why not a forest combat song? A desert battle song?
Game story
Characters don't seem to change throughout the story
Linear story until the end when it doesn't matter.
I wanted more character background for major characters
Tidus and Yuna seemed to parallel Cloud/Chrono and Aeris(Seems unoriginal). And Sin remarkably reminded me of Lavos and Seymour is similar to Sephiroth.
Where do other "races/species" belong in the world such as Ronso, those people who drove shoopuffs, and the people in Luca. Yes, these people do this and that, but how do other people react to them?
Although my list of dislikes is longer than my likes, I really liked this game.
Squaresoft... becoming more soft and square with each release

I also bought this game at full price and was dissapointed.
Positives:
The cut scenes were very cool.
The leveling up is very different and interesting.
The story is good enough to push you through the first half of the game...
The graphics are good.
The music is pretty good. Nothing to get excited over, pretty typical.
Negatives:
The voices were pretty lame most of the time.
The story gets worse as you play.
The mini games are stupid. In fact, mini games are almost always stupid in RPGs.
The leveling up system is different, for which I applaud the creativity. It is interesting... but I would count it as more of a negative than a positive because it really doesn't make the game any better or more fun.
All in all, the game is very limited. You basically do what IT tells you and go where IT sends you. What happened to the good old days of FFIII with the airships and you could go ANYWHERE On the map? Or FFVII???
My advice? If you like FF to the point where you don't care what their games are like because you're a fan, go for it. If you can waste the time with no problem, go for it, it's only $5 here. Buy it. But if you're REALLY looking for a GOOD RPG? STAY AWAY! Don't waste your time!!!
Ah...yet another enjoyable Final Fantasy

Like all the other Final Fantasies out there, the quality will be no exception to the tremendous reputation Squaresoft has earned. This is the best mixture of storyline, character personality, battle system, and graphics that will be seen on the PS2 for a while (RPG speaking). The fact that it has taken this long to ship kind of annoys me though. For regular RPGers, buy it, you'll love it. Obviously, for Final Fantasy Collectors, this is a must have. For people who wish to try out a new genre, this is not for you. I suggest RPGs like Lunar:SSSC and Lunar 2:Eternal Blue before this because they are the best out there yet highly unknown. They will give you the RPG experience you need for this game that I reccomend you buy after you have beaten Lunar: SSSC and Lunar 2. (...)
this game is godly

I have been waiting for Final Fantasy X to come out for a long time, and when it came out, I was obviously dissapointed. On the adverts or as you people call "commercials", it looked like a lot of fun, but it's not very fun if you don't get to do anything. Most of it is just talking and it is even worse than Nintendo 64's "Legend of Zelda - Ocorania of Time", which was a good game, but about four hours of it is just talking. On this, it'sm more like seven hours. Take my advice. Don't buy it.
BAD

OK, THIS GAME HAS SOME GOOD THINGS BUT THEY DONT MAKE THIS GAME GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME TO GIVE IT 2 STARS. FIRST OF ALL I BOUGHT THIS GAME BECAUE I WANTED SOME ACTION. I WANTED TO FIGHT THE ALIEN THINGS OR WHATEVER ...THEY ARE AND I WANTED TO HAVE CONTROL OVER MY...SWORD. INSTEAD OF ME BEING ABLE TO RUN UP THE THE ALIEN AND DICE IT...THE GRAPHICS ARE GREAT, THE CAMERA ANGLES ARE OK, AND THE SRORY IS OK. DONT WASTE THE MONEY LIKE I DID!!! IT WASNT WORTH IT. IF YOU LIKE POKEMON AND YOU DONT LIKE FUN ACTION, BUY THIS GAME, BUT IF YOU ARE A SMART GAMER LIKE ME, DONT SPEND THE MONEY!
Dubbing will ruin it for sure...

Great game in Japanese, the voice acting is excellent. Unfortunatly, the english version will have english voices only (no option for the originals with subtitles), which is sure to ruin a great aspect of the game- hearing the characters talk. American voice actors are horrible 99.9% of the time, and from the clips I've heard, FFX is no exception. Due to the lack of an option for Japanese voices with subtitles, I will not be buying the english version of this game.

Well overall, this game is pretty good, i like the story line, but it can be confusing at times. As for the graphics, they are mediocre, but during some important cutsenes they are worthy of the Xbox 360.
Pros:
The leveling up system-A sphere grid in which easly obtainable levels are used to move through the grid, which has bonuses such as Hp + 200. however it is sometimes hard to obtain spheres used to Activate the bonuses on the grid.
Voices: As the first FF game to have voices it does pretty good.
Cutscene graphics:Only during important events, other cutscenes are shakey. (litterly shakey the screne moves up and down when it zooms up on a charecter's head)
Storyline:Pretty good, but rapidly changes the setting, sometimes hard to follow.
Cons:
Battle system: It is pretty much your boring, turn taking battle system. Another con is you can only have 3 people battling at a time.
Graphics: Mediocre
Can be frustrating: There are some bosses in the game that are almost impossible to beat
-------------------
Overall, 4 stars, a good game, but you don't NEED to have it.
THE BEST RPG GAME
