Ghost Recon combines exiting firefights with great plots to make the best action game there is. Along with great graphics, the game is very realistic with mission breifings, riflemen, snipers and all the other specialists. It is very entertaining for everyone in need of a thrill.

This game was fun for a little while, untill you master the controls, after that,it's child play. The AI isn't bad,but you'd
think they would see you if you're a few feet away from you instead of just walking along untill they hear a gun shot.
Also, the AI just wont die!Usualy when I shoot one of them in the head, they get right back up,of course, that's if I hit them. One time I had an AK-47 pointed strait at him,but when I shot, the scatter shot hit everything except for him, fortunatly I chose a pistol for a secondary weapon, but when I shoot them in the face,he just went "Ug..." and shot back, but then I landed one right in his foot, and he fell to the ground in a pool of blood.I find it very strange when they wont die if you shoot them in the face, but if you shoot them in the foot they instantly die, that might need some work.
Over-all,I think this game is pretty good,it just needs some work on the AI and some easyer to learn controls,so rent it first to get a feel for it,and see if you like it before you buy it.
I hope this reveiw a little helpfull to you.
VERY fun

I really loved this game. It is the most realistic military game i have played ever. The team system and weapons are almost too realistic. only thing wrong is getting shot in almost anyplace can kill you. REALLY GOOD.

Ghost Recon is a deep, well balanced shooter from ubisoft that is one of the few games that really rewards you for beating the game (extra weapons, maps, etc. even in multiplayer!!!)One of the things that seperates Ghost Recon from your typical shooter is the fact that you can die from a single shot. This sets Ghost Recon at a very different pace from other games and also adds quite a bit of depth and tension to the game. Because of the realism of the game working in teams and planning your next move is greatly rewarded and is often the key to victory in multiplayer matches. Ceartain things have been very well implemented into the game such as the camo that the soldiers wear. This is one of the things that you normally wouldnt think about but in Ghost Recon it blends VERY well with the trees and other outdoor invironments and can be used to your advantage if you have the patience to stand still. One of the few problems of the game is lag during xbox live matches. While this only happens occasionally, it can be frustrating when the player you are shooting suddenly freezes and then teleports to another dimension. This flaw aside, this game would be a good buy for any shooter (or Clancy) fan at $50 but since it is now on the platinum hits list you can find it (new) for $20! THIS GAME IS WELL WORTH IT.

I enjoyed the game very much even though I had a very difficult time in a couple of areas I felt secure in believing there was indeed a solution to the problem I was having and if I studied it long enough I would find the solution.
Disapointment

I am a huge Tom Clancy fan. I have played all of his games on the PC and played very heavy with online gamers. When I seen they had this on X box I was very excited, but shortly ended up disapointed. The graphics are good, but I could not seem to get anywhere at all. I can say the dificulty level for this game is a lot higher then PC version. The person is a lot harder to control on Xbox compared to the PC.
Excellent tactical military FPS

Mirrors Rainbow Six 3 in many ways...good graphics. Love the way the enemy uses his rifle to hobble away when you shoot him in the leg. Many of the same tactics are still used today in Advanced Warfighter...

Far from your typical squad based shooter; Ghost Recon has a few things that distinguish it from the rest. You have two squads at your command, Alpha and Bravo; each has a squad leader and two additional squad mates. Each squad operates as a unit and cannot be separated into individuals. However, you can tell a squad to go over to a certain place, like making Alpha team hide at the top of a cliff and pick off any incoming enemy soldiers heading toward your position as you make your way to take out an enemy hideout.
GR has four different classes for each member of your squads (e.g. demolition and your basic infantry). The game does not stop there it allows you to pick each members weapon and secondary weapon (which there are a lot of). Ghost Recon has some RPGish elements to it. The more any member of the GR team is used, the better his skills will get. If you get a squad mate hurt in battle he will have to take some time out of action if you want him to heal or you can keep him in the fray, risking the loss of a soldier. If you lose a man on the field he is gone for the rest of the mission.
The battles in this game are fast, furious and truly intense. You will get breaks in the action to catch your breath. The AI in this game will have you second guessing almost every thing you do, they will suppress you with fire and have other members try to flank you. They will use this maneuver often but on occasion they will employ other ways to fill you full of lead. You must use strategy; you cannot go into an enemy base with guns blazing and expect to be successful.
Although there are now new and improved titles in the Ghost Recon series, this is all in all a great game which is now playable on the Xbox 360 as well.
One of Xbox's best Shooters ever!!!

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon is an incredibly fun first person shooter. If you like military squad based games, this is definately for you. The graphics (when it came out) were pretty top-notch and had some extremely fun multiplayer gametypes. I actually didn't start playing this game until Island Thunder was already out (which I played like crazy!) and it still held up as a great game. The sounds in the game really made it seem realistic, like you were actually there on the battlefield. I mean, looking back at it today, the game doesn't hold up in terms of graphics and presentation, but the gameplay is still one the best shooters there has been. Everything worked in it, it wasn't that hard to pick up and play, and the fact that it actually played like a tactical shooter made it stand out from the rest.
Okay, let's now talk about it's Xbox Live play. In simple terms, "it was fantastic." There were plenty of maps available, all with different environments. You could choose what class you wanted to play as, Rifleman, Snipers, Support, and Demolition, and then pick your gun kit, which there were also plenty to choose from. You could play the multiplayer portion of this game for hours on end and not get bored, something that's hard to come by these days (except GRAW, hehe).
Presentation:
One big gripe about the presentation of this game was that the menus were kinda difficult to navigate through (kinda like GR2). This drove me nuts a bit, but this was fixed by the time Island Thunder came out.
Graphics:
In it's day, Ghost Recon for the Xbox had some pretty sweet graphics, unlike other games on the market back then. It seemed pretty realistic and along with the sound made a great gaming experience.
Sound:
The sound in this game was pretty fantastic when it was released. Everything seemed very realistic and gave the gamer a great gaming experience. Explosions, bullets firing...exerything was great!
Gameplay:
This was probably my favorite aspect of this game. It played like a great military squad based shooter and was very tactical, unlike the run and gun games we find on the market today. The gameplay is truly what gave this game it's kick.
Lasting Appeal:
With it's great multiplayer aspects and Live capabilities, this game had great lasting appeal. People played it up to and through GRIT, and some even played till GR2 came out. Talk about lasting appeal...this game definatley had some!!!

I'm a big fan of Ghost Recon 2 and Summit Strike. These really didn't tickle my fancy with the gameplay of it and everything else. I guess you have to start and work your way up, uinstead of working your way backwards throught the Ghost Recon series as I did.
