If your looking for a good simulation of a military force moving around under your control and killing bad men, then do yourself a favor and buy Socom Navy Seals. There is nothing this game has that Socom doesn't (nothing you'd want anyway)
In ghost recon your always in 1st person. That's fine, but show me a gun and a couple of hands at least! When you shoot, bullets come out of nowhere and move in the direction of your target. Absolutely no sense that your the one firing a weapon.
To boot, the gunshots sound horrible. Again if you've played Navy Seals or Medal of Honor you WILL be disappointed.
The whole thing of being able to jump from one man to another is only confusing at best and lends nothing to being able to control the group.
While Navy Seals had some flaws like the fact that your other team members are completly incapable of throwing grenades(in single player mode anyway) and you sometimes have to repeat commands twice or even 3 or 4 times, it is still a far superior game in every sense.
I would give Navy Seals 4.5 stars.
Ghost recon barely gets away with 2

DONT BUY THIS GAME!...

Please read this. Althought this is a great game, the XBOX version is full of bugs, and neither UBI or Microsoft is doing anything to correct it. Please visit the support forum on their website and look at all the issue's with freezing and on-line play. The fact that UBI won't even respond makes this game not worth buying.

I recently bought Ghost Recon with my birthday money. When I got home I started it up. After a few minutes I thought," This is it?" This game is good graphic wise but it is not worth $$#.
On multiplayer you get to pick Cooperative, Adversarial, and Tournament. Multiplayer is the only "GOOD" about this game. But its still cheesy. The enemies AI is TOO good. You'll be up on a mountian and zoom in with your scope and the enemy will notice and start firing at you, and 9 times out of 10 you die. It is hard to beat it on Recruit. It would be impossible to beat it on Veteran. Trust me. If you want a good action game dont buy this. I dont get you people that say that Ghost Recon is better than Halo. Halo is better than this game in all aspects. Here are my Pros/Cons.

Pros:

Good graphics

Nice sound

O.K. Multiplayer

Cons:

Unrealistic AI

Cheesy Options andd Map Screens

Hard Controls

Not Tom Clancy's Best Work

I was playing it and one of my squad members names were Henry Ng. What kind of last name is "Ng."
If you want a good action game get Halo. And as far as i'm concerned, Splinter Cell is better. Thats the last Tom Clancy first-person-shooter that i'll get.

Step aside Halo? Not quite :)

After adjusting the brightness from 50 to 60, my biggest hangup dissipated. The graphics are on par with high end computers and the control setting is durable. Regrettably there are issues with the multiplayer such as those outlined by one of the reviewers. Only two per box in coop, and one per box in Xbox live :( And supprisingly there are still issues with LAAAAAAAAAAG on Xbox live. Well, nothing is perfect!

This is one of the best titles available for anyone who wants realistic combat gaming. Players who want a shoot-em-up free for all will not be satisfied, because this game was designed to make you think and act cautiously much as you would if real danger were in the mix. Fantastic outdoor environments (even the grass blows in the wind) allow you to be stealthy while still having the firepower and variety of weapons that get the job done.

Awesome game

This is an awesome game, both single player and online.

Single player can be very challenging. Your goal is to complete all of the tasks. Every task unlocks something for you. Each and every thing can help you get further and further into the game until you bet it.

Multiplayer is just awesome. Although you need a broadband connection and the X-Box Live! Starter Kit, there are endless possiblities. This really tests your skills as a gamer. You can play with up to 12 people with no lag, unless the host has a T1 connection. You can communicate with others, to plan out exactly what your battle plan will be. And, if you decide to do the single player as well, you can unlock new weapons and types of gameplay for online, for only you to use for an upper advantage, unless other do so as well. People you play with online can be added to a friends list. If you get online, check your friends list to see if they are online or not, and you can join them in a game, without the hastle of searching for a game.

This is, in my opinion, is the best shooter game for X-Box Live!, and the best shooter for offline play next to Halo.

This game has to be one of the best games that I have played! The graphics are 2001 standards admittedly, but graphics do not define a game. (For example, some of us still play Galaga and Ms. Pac-Man for the gameplay and not the graphics. ) The assembling of teams in this game is quite cool and adds a little bit of thinking involved. What I like about this game is that your team AI is much better than SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs for the Playstation 2. They actually assist in providing cover fire when you are escorting hostages across enemy territory. True, the areas themselves are limited and you can only move down specific ramps and such (but that was 2001, folks!), but some of the areas are quite large. There is no music while on a mission, and that only adds to the realism (as opposed to SOCOM, which has music on a mission). Another great feature is the replay value of the missions and arenas. You can put on the Firefight option ot relieve stress after work. Also, you can unlock "heroes" in this game. These heroes possess better weapons, better skills and better leadership. Some of the weapons are monsters such as the M60, PKM, and the AN-91/Grenade Launcher. Furthermore, some of the missions and environments are absolutely awesome. The Battefield, Vilinus, Mountain, and Red Square missions are incredible and capture the element of war. In the Vilinius mission, for example, you escort three tanks through a war-torn city, filled with rogue terrorists, and you can feel the tanks rolling beside you. Lastly, unlike SOCOM, you can improve the soldiers' abilities if they survive the mission.

The faults of the game are few. First, the arenas should permit more mobility. Second, the AI of your team can still be improved. Lastly, the two-player split-screen co-op should permit modified kits.

If you want to really feel the impact of war, put the game on Elite where the game places snipers that camp and hide and lead squads of enemies after you that seek cover. Trust me, you have to be better than the Best to survive without an entire squad or both squads being crippled or eliminated, especially on the Battefield level. Please send me an e-mail if you happen to not suffer from any deaths of team members (without saving) during the "Battefield" mission on the "Elite" level.

Darn good for a year old game.

Having enjoyed Ghost Recon on the PC, I figured I'd pick it up with my XBox Live kit. It's still a very solid and enjoyable title. The graphics are of course a bit dated, and many online games lag due to hosts having low upload speeds, but overall I think this is the best Live title out right now. If you have an upload speed of 256kbps or greater, please do us all a favor and host games. I have read many reviews complaining that this game will not work on an old XBox, but I've had mine since launch day and I have no problems whatsoever. There has also been mass confusion about the voice communication feature. This is due to people being too lazy to read the instruction manual. You have to hold down the white button to talk, just like a real radio. I always announce this in games I host, because there are just so many people out there that won't spend five minutes learning the controls. Now you know.
