Fable is the greatest role playing game for Xbox. That's what I thought when playing this role playing game by Microsoft. Why would anyone want to name a game so simple? Because no other title would describe the whole game in one simple word. It has graphics up to date with the Xbox's capabilities and since it's made by Microsoft (famous for Halo 1 and 2) it has to be good.
Since the PS2's final Fantasy rules role playing games, who has the nerves to make an impact on RPGs, Fable did. It has a better combat system than Final Fantasy which actually doesn't have to deal with picking attacks just old fashioned 3d button mashing. Fable also has a unique gaming experience. Depending on your actions you can be a respectable hero or a sinister villain.
The plot is simple in the beginning you start as a young boy who ends up as an orphan when bandits raid his village. He is brought into a place called the heroes guild where he becomes a hero in training. You can be a warrior, archer, and/or a will user (which is a magician) depending on your favorite style. But as you progress through the game the storyline changes.
This game has all the basics of RPGs as well as unexpected; the character can be skinny, or fat. He can have tattoos even on his face. You can even have haircuts in order to make your character look decent or not. It also has the regulars weapons, armor, and spells to buy. This game has many great qualities and I hope there is a second part.

This is one of the most fun you'll have with a video game. It's got a lot of depth and detail, and really a quite fresh plot twist. The combat controls were a bit problematic though, and I found myself wanting to scream every time I had to use the "slow time" function against enemies. It was difficult to time that with attacks to even make a dent on your opponent, especially the Jack of Blades at the end.
Great game!

Fable is an excellent game. The overall, superb quality of the features--graphics, combat, story, humor, music, etc--make this a must-play for any RPG lover. My only criticism is that I wish it was a little longer, bigger. I guess that's the inevitable product of liking a game a lot: you want to keep playing it. That's what sequels are for, and I hope Fable's producers create one soon!

I, along with many other people, have been waiting for this game's release for a very long time and it has fanally come. In my opinion, the game was worth the 4 years of waiting. There have been many changes to gameplay though. If you read an article somewhere at about the time the game was first mentioned, it will be much different than what reviews are saying now. You can no longer have the ability to plant a seed and see the tree in its place years later, kids will not dress their hair like yours, it's not completely free roaming like Morrowind, you can't make a frying pan into a legendary weapon, the game is not 50-60 hours long by any means. By saying all this it sounds like Fable is a waste- But it's not.
The good things definitely outweigh the bad. First, character developement is amazing, grow back and chest hair over time, muscles, get fat by drinking to much beer or eating to much, and much more. You can get married, buy houses, rent them out, shoot the windows out with a bow ( if someone sees you they will go running and tell the guards), the things like that is what I love. There are alot of clothing and armor types to choose from and many of them look awesome. There are many different types of tatoos and haircuts to get with each of them affecting your attractiveness, scariness, evil/good alignment (clothing and armor have the same effects). The music is perfect for the game. It is easily the best that I have heard in a game. The type of music changes as you move from place to place (scary in a graveyard, happy in a town).
I completed the game in about 12 hours strait through without doing any sidequests. It seems short to me but the replay value of the game is very good so you'll be wanting to play again. The thing that most people are missing though is the fact that YOU CAN CONTINUE THE GAME AFTER YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE MAIN QUEST. You MUST watch ALL of the CREDITS!! I had to "re beat" the game twice because I did not let the credits scroll through. If you select "skip scene" while the credits are scrolling it takes you directly to the title screen without saving your progress and without giving you the chance to continue playing for as long as you want. Do not think that the game actually does "end".
With all that said, in my opionion, Fable is an extrordinarily wonderful game that definitely deserves a playing.
This is an awsome game

I spent a number of hours playing this game. This game has much of what is currently found in World of Warcraft, as far as growing up and determining what kind of person you want to be. You can go around helping people to become a good hero or you can go around hurting people to become an evil hero. I found this very entertaining and would recommend to to anybody that has kids 13 years or older.
good game

Fable is a wonderful game. The storyline is well written and the gameplay is great except I think they could of improved the graphics more and there should be more enemys to fight and more areas to go to, and you should get to fight in the arena more than once and everytime it should get harder, but there is a upside to it all THERE IS NO ENDING!! Just let the credits finish and you can countiue on playing. The getting old part was very intersting be cause ing my profile im and old man yet i fight like 20 year old so they should fix that too.
I think I'll play it again

I had been waiting to get my hands on Fable for a good while before getting it. My expectations started off high, but many of my gamer friends weren't too pleased with it. I had mainly heard complaints that it was restricting and "kiddie" oriented. After beating it, I can give my two cents. It is way too short, bar none. This would have been a five-star game if there was more depth to it. Now despite playing the quests given to the player, there is a good bit of freelance stuff to do like interact with NPCs, make tons of money and lose it at will, so this aspect I do like.
GRAPHICS: Totally beautiful, from the shadowing to intricate detail in even the most insignificant objects. Reason enough to at least check it out.
PLAYABILITY: I did have a lot of fun while playing Fable. You can always decide to do some mean stuff to people for kicks, and the body count can get fairly high while going through the game. There isn't too much gore, but blood doesn't have to spew onto the screen to have a great time.
STORYLINE: Great storyline overall. The cinematics aren't overlong or filled with silly writing like some of these newer releases. Depending on what alignment you lean towards, there could have been a bit more of a change, but that's okay.
DIFFICULTY: A bit too easy all the way through. Especially with the final opponent, I had a low level lightning skill and was able to defeat him with no worries at all. This helps with my neverending desire to end the lives of countless NPCs, but how much is too much? A challenge may be desired elsewhere.
REPLAY: Fable is unfortunately not as engaging as I had hoped. It's one of those "I've beat it a few times, what now?" type of things, but as a time killer I'm sure that it'll wind its way into my X-Box again one day.
I'd recommend Fable for a try, but either you'll love it or hate it from what I've heard. Just stick with it, and if it does not tickle your fancy, you can always trade it in!

Fable is a action/rpg adventure game based in the world of Ablion.Where basically your actions determine the outcome of the game. The gameplay in Fable is simple and easy to get the hang of.You have your melee combat and you have your magic spells,it is very simple in combat to switch from using your weapons to use your magic spells. The thing that takes a little while to get used to is the targeting system when in combat if you have allies fighting alongside of you if you miss your enemy the spell could hit your ally instead and cause damage.
When you first start off in Fable,it is your sisters birthday and your father explains to you that you must go find your sister a birthday gift.Once you have found the gift when you go to find your sister and give her the gift you find her in an fenced end barn yard. Right when your heading home bandits start to attack your village they kill your father and capture your sister and mother. Then a mysterious wizard comes and takes you to his guildfor the start of your training.Fable all and all is a great game,I recomend this game to any rpg fan.
Almost as bad as Halo 2, or Halo for that matter!

Sucky game, I've even heard some people comparing it to The Legend of Zelda, that's a laugh! HA HA! Zelda is in a class that Fable will never be a part of, no way, no how, not in a million years. Save your money on this title, if you want a good RPG get Zelda!
