Fable was a much anticipated RPG that promised 40-50 hours of gamer action in the storyline and complete control over the life of the protagonist. We waited for this game for what seemed like a LIFETIME and the build up for the game to finally arrive was almost more than RPG lovers could take, but did it live up to the hype? No, my fellow gamers. And it hurts me so to say it.
While the game promised to deliver several hours of stoyline play I was shocked when I completed the main storyline in less than 20 hours. Now, I'm not one to doubt the sacred words of Lionhead Studios, so I dedicated another 20 hours of my life to uncover different aspects of gameplay, such as getting married, changing outfits and body types, becoming divinely evil or majestically good (ect.), but it was all just so linear! The paths were set, the storyline already thought out, and the character chosen, you weren't given enough to keep the interest going. I later dragged myself back to the game to play the storyline through again, and though I admit that I enjoyed the game much more the second time through, I just found myself not caring about it all. Too many options were closed and the darn story was just too short!!
The darker elements of the game were simply addicting such as the colleseum, the prison (which I played over and over and over), and the story of your sister, but it seems as though the people in charge of developing such side stories (which we all SO LOVE!!!) got a little case of A.D.D.
Now, I'm not saying to avoid this game. It's got just what some gamers may need to get into RPG's, but for those of us who were expecting a game to completely pwn Morrowind, well, let's just move on... or wait for a better thought our sequal.

I was so excited to get this game - but couldn't play it for more then 5 minutes because the character's movement made me feel so ill. If you tend to be the type who gets motion sickness from certain games - you'll want to skip this one.

Only in hype, in fact Fable has a tone of hype behind it as is and it truly is a great game. But it does have it's flaws.
One Critic said that Combat is just a bunch of Hack & Slash Action. In truth you could play tha game this way (and use a lot of Health Potions early on) but what is great is that each of the 3 attack areas serves a great purpose. Mellee Attacks(Swords & Axes) if you want to blaze a trail but do weak to medium damage most of the time, Long Range attacks (Bows & Crossbows) which do medium to large damage, or magic which ranges from Weak (Forcespell) to powerful (Enflame).
The freedom to customize your guy is awsome (although no matter what you name him in the beggining they never say the name, your just Hero). However the greatest factor is the Good/Evil Scale. If your pure Evil you can grow horns and have crimson mist around you, however the villagers will run scared and the guards will constantly watch you. However if you are good They love you, in many cases they instantly fall in love with you, and the guards leave you alone.
In fact the only flaw in the game is the targeting system needed a little more tweaking, and the story is too short. If you play straight through the story you will beat it in a weekend. However past that this is a definitive title to own on the Xbox.
Well this game in one of the best

There is not much to say about this game that you probably don't already know so I'll just say what stood out the most to me.
Negative -
The targeting system is a bit annoying
Positive -
This is exactly like a fantasy story down to a tea, except it's missing a dragon. I've played the game several times through and haven't found any dragons.
The way you look, you can choose to be a huge warrior to even be a small weak looking thief.
The fact that there is a fight club in each town was pretty cool and a bunch of other side quest.
The AI is incredible
Well this list could go on forever... I recommend the game to everyone. You'll have to try this one to really get a concept for it.
Are you ready to be the greatest hero?

The longest journey always starts with one step. When your mother and sister are kidnapped, your first action is to travel across the magical land of Albion to find your father, the famed Hero. But soon you are plunged into a world of danger you couldn't possibly have imagined. A dark force is gathering. A power to bring evil to every town and village in Albion, and to destroy the fairytale lives of the inhabitants. This evil force has turned the very Heroes into power-crazed, ruthless warriors. Only your father has resisted. That's why your family has been taken. And that's why the fate of your family is now in your hands. Oh, and the fate of the entire world.
As you embark on your adventure as a young, callow youth, you'll learn that something makes you different to all the others. You have a force of Will. During your adventures, you'll grow up, grow stronger, grow more powerful and eventually grow old. But how you grow is down to you. Use your sword a great deal and your muscles will build. Use ruthless cunning and refuse to care about others and you'll become evil. Use your force of Will and you'll become wizardlike and wise. Your character changes according to the way you play.
The mystical world of Albion is immense. Hidden ruins, huge towns, caverns and mountains all exist, and there are hundreds of characters, all growing and interacting, and all with their own artificial intelligence. Even the ones who aren't human. There is the option to ally with many of these characters, to learn what they know, to help or hinder them, to heal them or hack them to pulp.
You face tasks big and small, perilous and rewarding. And with every step, you decide where you'll go next, what you'll face, who you'll talk to and of course, who will feel the force of your Will or the edge of your sword. The game features innovative control and unparallel freedom. You don't have to sit through a word of storyline if you don't want, and you are always free to travel wherever you choose. When and how you tackle the immense, detailed and gripping battle against the forces of evil is always down to you.
Albion is a land of magic and a realm of Heroes. But as it faces the ultimate enemy, are you ready to be the biggest hero of all?
Simply amazing

I was really worried when I heard they were going to cut back on some of the features of fable in order to release it in a reasonable ammount of time. However, after buying it and playing for 5 hours straight immediately afterwards (I would have played longer but my roomates wanted to watch tv), I can say that it lived up to my expectations. Fable seems to combine a number of good games and expand on them, like the Sims and KOTOR, to name a couple. And I know already that I am going to want to play it again and again after I finish it, because there are so many different possibilities for what you can do with your character. The music, the graphics, the details, the gameplay and fighting, they are all very well done.
So much fun

Okay this game just came out on the 15th in my area. Now this game is awesome, no it is not the best game ever but it is a lot of fun. This game is so easy to control its crazy. It is not one of those games where the view sucks the whole time and just drives you crazy.
NOw, what do most people want in a RPG game? Stats!!!! And this game has them! I will list a few of the stats it has:
- attractive or ugly
-kills\even how many kills with a particular weapon
-how many wives you have
-how many homes you own
-how many times you have sex
-experience points
-strength points
-will points
-skill points
-hours played
-how many of which monster you killed
(These are just a very small amount, you can check all stats on a page and it will take you a few minutes to look through them all its great)
I mean this game is so much fun, the graphics are unreal. The music is really good usually accept there are times when I am walking through an area listing to some happy go lucky music and something liek a rock troll comes out of the ground and is supposed to be scary and just isn't when the music does not change.
Now I have played a total like 5 hours( I know how sad am I=) )
And I have played about 6 or so quests and they are all fun. You have main quest and then optional quests some are not the best but you still get stuff for doing them like gold or food or poitions and always experience.
I have not played enough to know the depth of the story line, but what I have seen is a lot of fun. I give this a five mainly because I have not been able to put the game down except to go to work.
All I can say is at least rent it and if you like it bye it.
And I am not a kid but it made it so much easier to make a review.

I've played many video games in my lifetime and many were very good but I'd place Fable in one of the top 3. Many people think that Fable and Halo 2 may be the greatest games created for xbox and I completely agree with that. I've been playing Fable for 4 weeks running by now. The storyline is excellent and so are the graphics but I would have to comment about it's difficulty and length. It took me only 15 hours to beat it the first time trying but this fact is canceled out due the fact that you can play it many times each having a different start, middle, and end. Halo 2 on the other hand gives you a more challenging game and a very good multiplayer area (it would be cool if you could fight others with your character on Fable). Fable gives you a free-flowing game that Halo 2 doesn't give you though. Overall I would have to say Fable, Halo 2, and KOTOR are some of the best games on xbox, this is a matter of opinion.
Honest opinion of a good game

If you like role-playing games then you will like this one.
Pros:
* Absolutely great graphics in the game. What you buy is what you wear. You will love how evil you ca make yourself or how noble or whatever there are so many outfits, things you can do, to choose from to customize your look. You can customize everything even your skin.
* There are statistics for everything you do; # of houses you own, # of renters, # of times you have sex, marriages, divorces, monster statistics, preferred weapon, ect. The list goes on and on.
* This game is really open ended for your character.
* The sound track is not annoying it's actually good. ( I get annoyed with bad music)
* Pick and choose if you're good bad or somewhere in between, and look the part at the same time.
* Ouch that was a tough battle, OH LOOK A SCAR!!
* I'm enjoying hours and hours of play.
* You can choose to be gay if you wish. Or have sex with as many females as possible.
* Like people to adore your every move, hero! Maybe fear you and run and cower wuahahahahaha!
Cons:
* Girls sorry no female character for you. You can pursue the romantic side of your character though.
* Although the necessity of choosing who you will become from a child is necessary for the game to conform to you, it way too short and confined.
* Quests can be a little hack and slash.
ALL IN ALL BUY THIS GAME
