Thia game has graphics to drool for, UBI Soft has made this for XBOX only with a PC release in discussion , this info is based new info, the visuals are amazing, gameplay perfect, a response to "a gamer from boston with the bland review" according to UBI soft the Enitre game has to be redone for PS2 and change the complete gameplay because PS2 can not handle the lighting effects, so I doubt a PS2 Version will come, Don't be fooled by this persons Description , the Graphics are almost Doom III or Halo 2 , this game got a 9.6 from IGN so you know it's good,
Incredible!

It all boils down to this: If you own an XBox and are over the age of 14, you are cheating yourself raw if you do not own Splinter Cell. This game is the standard against which all other stealth action games will be judged for the next 5 years. Splinter Cell is to stealth what Halo is to first person shooters: Namely the absolute pinnacle of the genre so far. This game is versatile, graphically unbelievable, intense, innovative, and incredibly dynamic. It's not a shoot-em-up, so don't expect that kind of atmosphere - it's all about covert operations where thinking fast and not being seen are the objectives. Of course, there are still plenty of opportunities to shoot when the situation calls for it. Buy it!

I cannot beleive what this person put( see below) BLAND? BAD GRAPHICS? This game got a 10.0 on graphics from IGN! I mean come on, how can you think that these are bad graphics. The shadows are amazing. So dude, maybe you should try playing the game with your eyes open. Easiley a 5.0-no my mistake\, a 6.0 game
Bland visuals make for a difficult and boring game., November 24, 2002

I love Tomy Clancy books as well as games. I was disappointed with Splinter Cell. There are defintely some cool features in this game like the use of shadows but it's been done before in other games. The game is very difficult but that's not what turned me off. I just got tired of it quickly, the graphics were not what I expected. The Xbox is supposed to great graphics but it's obviously not the case here. I'll be interested in seeing what happens with the PC version as well as the GC and PS2 versions that come out next year. I'd suggest waiting because it's possible they'll make revisions to the game based on the flaws in this version. This game does not live up to my standard and I don't think it will to any hard core fan. This game is a rental for sure but not worth a buy.
The best Stealth game I have ever played..

This is without question the best game out on X-Box. The graphics and attention to detail is out of this world. The developers did not miss a trick on this game. If you are looking for a fast shoot-em up game (ie Halo), then this is not the game for you. But if you want a slick, state of the art stealth undercover agent game, then BUY THIS GAME! Plus if you have surround sound, the game is even better. Like I said, they do not miss a thing.
I saw one comment that the graphics were sub standard and the lighting and shadowing had been done before. Well, I want to hear what game that is bc I have never seen anything this good on a console game.

i got this game for my birthday. i popped it in and played. you do alot of steathy type things such as: interogate people, human sheild, hide, climb buildings, you get what i mean. the "second world" is so damn hard. guards ar every where, meda packs a sacrse, and bullets can't be found. it got so hard i just quit. i may not have the patients, but you may. i recommed this game to the 11+ age.
A Must-Buy game!

This game is absolutly amazing. It is a lot more stealthy then the MGS series and the game is more realistic. The graphics show how powerful the Xbox can be. Gameplay is fun, yet tricky. This game has a great lasting appeal as well, even though it is 1 player. It has been confirmed that this will support downloads, such as new levels, via Xbox LIVE and Official Xbox Magazine game disks. This game is a great game, and I suggest you add it to your Must-Buys this holiday season.
Awsome Game!!!

This game is amazing. The graphics are unbelievable! I haven't seen many games with graphics as good as this one. The detail is great on everything. On some missions at night there are bugs flying around street lights. You can even hold people hostage and use them as a human shield!
When people talk about this game being based on stealth, they mean it. Some missions take quite a while trying to get through them without getting caught; especially the missions where you can't kill anyone.
So, if you are thinking about getting this game, I highly recommend it.
Two Games. Both Different. Both Awesome.

I have read so many reviews bashing Metal Gear Solid 2 and Splinter Cell, that it is driving me crazy. I LOVE both games. I think if you like one you should like the other, even though they are different. I would put Metal Gear into the Science Fiction category. Because of the advanced Technology and weird experiences (like vampires). Metal Gear is story driven. Most of the time it is just like watching a movie. The cool part is playing those movie quality experiences. Control is one of the best for 3rd person action games, and the graphics are nothing short of amazing. The sound is great too. Especially in Dolby 5.1. The Story is deep and rich. Actually, it can be confusing at times also. I had to play through it twice to understand it all. Now comes along Splinter Cell. It is every bit as good as Metal Gear, if not a little better. This game also has a deep plot, but most of the story unfolds during gameplay. Cut scenes are much shorter than in Metal Gear, but there is way more gameplay in Splinter Cell. Control is really cool once you learn how to use it. It has a little bit of a learning curve. When I first started playing it was frustrating for me, but once I caught on it was great. There are so many cool moves you can do, that you can play missions over and over using different styles. You can shoot every thing, or you can do a split jump and drop on them from above. Graphics are some of the BEST out there. Every shadow you see is rendered in real-time. Sound is awesome too. This game has realism that only Tom Clancy can provide. This is pure stealth action. Not science fiction. Both games are a blast to experience. If you are trying to decide on one or the other, pick Metal Gear if you are looking for story driven game or Splinter Cell for more of the gameplay side. Simply put, that is really the only difference between them. You should add both Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid: Substance, to your Xbox library.
Sweet Jebus this game is amazing!

Wow, I just played the demo. I got the XBOX Mag. from the bookstoer and I couldn't stop playing, right up until I had to run off to class. Good LORD, the graphics are outragiously awesome! I mean, the demo is just one short mission, and I kept playing it over and over again, each time completing it in a different way and it never got boring, I want to go play it again, right after Seinfeld is over. Anyway, if I can play the DEMO over and over again and have fun with each part of it, the full game HAS to be the best XBOX game so far. Halo 2 will probably beat it, but that's not until sometime 2003!
Wonderful Stealth mode game
