I was hearing sooooo much about this game and all my friends were saying how great it was so foolishly I just went out and bought it...bad idea. Don't get me wrong i do realize why many people like this game, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. I like games like halo where you can go rampaging , but in this game you barey get to shott its all about stealth and sometimes you have to cross a like ten foot room but it takes you like 20 minutes because you can't have sensores see you, im just not that patient. Although I absolutely hate the gameplay, the graphics are amazing.

I Bought This Game for a while Now and i am still playing it , it is one of the best xbox games and it is really hard for me.
in the game you play as Sam Fisher, he has been on the front lines of espionage in several defining con-flicts throughout the past decades. he has not only survived, but also excelled in the field of covert operations through hard work, insatiable curiosity and brutal honesty. He has little time for polite and even less for lies.
This is the man you are goin to play in the game,it's not goin to be easy Believe me you will stick in a level for days, you are Sam Fisher you have the right to spy, steal, Destroy, and assassinate to ensure that american freedoms are protected. If captured The U.S. government will disavow any knowledge of your existence.
Experience the best in Xbox graphics: a world of Cinematic protions.
in the game you can Force enemies to coperate or use them as human Shields when the enemy is opening Fire at you, also you can stalk from the shadows and then strike with precision.
there is 9 pulse-pounding stealth missions from the world of Tom Clancy.
Utilize prototype weapons and equipment.
You can Download new levels on xbox live.
it Features music by The Crystal Method.
This Game is a must have for an xbox Owner, Sure it is out on other systems But it is Better on Xbox with Better gameplay and Graphics.

I bought this game not knowing anything about Tom Clancey, and not owning any other first person shooter games. And I'm not the type to play Xbox all day. In fact I rarely play Xbox by myself, but now that I own Splinter Cell, I can't get enough.
Ubi Soft has really put a lot of effort into this game, and it shows. This game is extremly detailed in every aspect including graphics, sound effects, level design, and game play. It has everything from a laser microphone to spy on your enemy's conversations, to remote controled cameras that you can stick to walls, to soda cans found in trash cans that can be thrown across a room to destract your enemies. Ubi Soft really juiced every last drop of power out of the Xbox for this game.
If you are looking for a fast paced shoot em' up game, then this is not the game for you. Splinter Cell is a game of stealth, so you can't just jump around the corner and pop a couple of rounds in each enemy's head while the others wait for you to finish him off before they atack. You only use your gun in this game as a last resort. You may think that not being able to shoot every person you see wouldn't be fun, but Ubi Soft came up with many creative and non-leathal ways to immobilize you're enemies.
So if you're looking for a high quality game, that you won't be able to stop playing, Splinter Cell is the game for you.
Awesome!!! A Must Have!

If you are a fan of action games, or stealth games, this one puts them both togeather perfectly. You sneak around in the shadows (with great graphic by the way), and try to accomplish one of nine missions. After the tutorial, you are thrown into the first level. The levels are well designed, fun to play, and are scriped. Scriped means that the enemies do the same thing until they see you. That is the only minor flaw. Other than that, if you like action or stealth games, or neither, this is a definite must have for all Xbox gamers.

Splinter Cell is one of the most amazing games I have ever played, and will probably always be a close favorite of mine. No game has ever reeled me in as much as this one, and I think I can speak for everyone when I say that this game throws you into international warfare and makes you feel like you are in a Mission; Impossible movie.
You play as Sam Fisher, a retired war veteran pulled back into the field to assist the U.S. government in resolving a tremendous conflict with the country of Georgia. You will have to sneak, shoot, and distract your way through 10 grueling missions spanning the globe. You will use shadows, closets and anything else you can imagine to hide from enemies, which by the way, have to be the most amazing A.I. I have ever seen in a video game. Combining unbeleivable lighting effects (when I say unbelievable, I mean it; a light will be shone from one side of a mesh fence and through onto the main character in incredible detail) and a new visual effect known as "bright blur" which causes lit up areas to create a blur to the viewer, this game is visually polished. Millions of polygons, tons of detail on all surfaces, this is the prettiest Xbox game this side of Halo, and even gives its lighting effects a run for their money.
I guarantee that anyone who is a fan of the Medal Gear Solid Series, Tenchu series or any other stealth action game will absolutely adore Splinter Cell. They call it "Stealth Action; Redefined" for a reason. You can shoot out virtually any light (and actually change the light source of the surrounding when you do so) you can climb onto any ledge, climb any pole, break any window, back up and shoot around any corner, and basically do anything you could need to do to sneak past those nasty Georgians. (You can even shoot a small camera across the room with your gun that makes a whistling noise that attracts the enemy, whom you gas once he has approached.) This game outdoes the gadgets of the James Bond series.
If you are a hardcore sneak-game fan or just someone who plays hide-and-seek a lot, Splinter Cell will soon become a proud addition to your gaming collection. Don't miss it.
Am I playing a game or living a movie? THIS GAME RULES!

First of all, I would like to congradulate UBi Soft for their great game. Now I will explain why it is such a great game. First, I have never seen a game with graphics like it. The graphics are amazing. And the missions (though long) are intense and fun. It has a great storyline and extreemly fun gameplay. The only problems are there is no blood, no multiplayer, and only two guns. I would highly suggest that you purchase this game. You will love it.
Good honest review.

Simply put, outstanding graphics,a realistic story, realistic characters(unlike the Metal Gear boss characters, who seem to resemble cartoon supervillians instead of real humans) a plethora of gadgets and strategies at your disposal. A true paradise for the gamer who appreciates a deep story and the military/spy genre.
The bar by which all other games are measured!

Splinter Cell is not just another first-person shooter game. While I am a huge fan of Halo, Splinter Cell takes a more stealth-like approach to combat and covert ops. Controlling NSA agent Sam Fisher is a refreshing change to the full-frontal assault of most shooter games.
The programming of this game is unparalleled. The movements and fluidity of Splinter Cell have yet to be repeated. While other games (such as Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb and even Enter the Matrix) have jerky motion while climbing, the flowing movements in Splinter Cell are the best I have ever seen.
Splinter Cell also allows interaction with the environment, especially lights. The entire aspect of stealth requires the use of shadows and Sam can shoot out lights to provide cover of darkness. The movement of curtains as Sam brushes past are also a subtle, yet difficult-to-attain detail that Ubi Soft made sure to include, adding to the realism of the game.
The AI is excellent, however some failures are noted. Enemy units react rather stupidly, such as stating that a guard dog "lost the scent" of Sam, when in reality the pooch fell victim to a sniper bullet to the head. Additionally, when a fellow guard simply disappears, the other soldier fails to notice.
A fun, challenging aspect to Splinter Cell is the requirement for non-lethal force. Perhaps my favorite part of the game is the ability to sneak up behind an enemy, grabbing them around the neck, and holding a gun to their head, interrogating them before pistol whipping them unconscious. Also amusing is throwing a well-aimed glass bottle at the head of an enemy, knocking them out.
Splinter Cell is a game you can play over and over. To add a challenge the second time through, I tried to minimize killing my enemies, no easy task when you're given the Fifth Freedom.
Sound is great, the music well suited. Additionally, the casting of Michael Ironside as the voice of Sam adds an element of cool confidence to the character.
Simply put: This game is AWESOME! It might just spoil every other game you play until Ubi Soft comes out with another of the same caliber.
