This game is unbelievably great. Finally..finally!!! someone gets a 1st person game right! This game has me so addicted I can barely live a normal life. I must say, I have been let down by these kind of games, game after game after game. I eventually even got bored w/ Halo. I cannot believe how smart this game is. You have to think, sneak around, find creative ways to master a level. The graphics are absolutely wonderful. This is XBOX's finest moment! I love the way little things need to be mastered like picking a lock. Some are easier than others and you have to actually gain skill at using the controller to finess the lock pick. Sams moves are flawless and all of the characters real. Ive become lost in this world and the mission. It is totally realistic and consuming. I hope this sets the standard for future games as creative and smart as this. Im not even that far yet and Im blown away by what I've seen so far. Im 35 by the way.

I agree that the game certainly is visually stunning. The storyline is quite interesting, too. Initially, after hearing all the cool things that the main character could do (e.g. grab a person and use him as a shield, do a split, etc.) I was scared that the commands needed to carry them out would be difficult to remember and do. Surprisingly enuf, the commands were simple to remember and I became confortable with them very early in the game. The only problem I had with the game was that the challenges were comparably easy to figure out. Before I knew it, I was done with game. Definitely a rental.

This game is so much fun to play, you have to be very quiet and use shadows to win at this game. This is not a "killing" type game, you have to be smart and out think your enemies. The controls aren't too hard, but the levels are. Each level will take alot of time and restarts to beat, but that is actually fun. The graphics are so good it's like watching a movie, and you can do so many awesome moves on this game. The game is very tense and the music goes perfectly with the levels. This is a game that is hard but sooooo much fun, this is maybe the best X Box game out. Go buy this game today you won't be able to put the controler down.

This game is great but it has flaws. The graphics are great and so are things like shadows. I really wouldn't classify it as a shooter though. It's more of a strategy game. You really don't kill lots of people. Like in the CIA HQ level you can't kill anybody. Some other flaws are strange checkpoints and computer mess ups. If your a person who likes to run in and blow up everything this is not for you. If you would like to test your paitence this is for you. Thhe trail and error process is frusterating. This game is great depending on the gamer you are.

When I first played this game one word came to mind. WOW!
Firstly the graphics. They are brilliant. The detaail in the characters faces and bodys and the way they move. The way the curtains blow in the wind. Its truly amazing!
Secondly a very important point if you are going to buy it. This is not the sort of game where you run around with a huge machine gun shooting anyone you want (If you want this kind of game I recommend 'HALO'). This game is about stealth, it is about hiding in the shadows and not being seen. Do not by it if you do want to run around with a machine gun! It is probable that if you do carelessly run around in 'Splinter Cell' you will swiftly get taken out.
Thirdly a very important question you must ask yourself before buying this game. Do you want a hard chllenge! This game is definately thee hardest game I have and probably one of the hardest popular games around! I personaly enjoy the challange though I often die, you however may not.
My conclusion is simple. BUY IT for a sensational experiance!

A good game, fun and addictive. However, it can get repetitive and frustrating. There is no room for error - you can make mistakes like crazy in Halo and still progress. In Splinter Cell - one mistake, the alarm goes off, for example, and you need to start again (and again). My favorite game is Max Payne -now I think it's in part because of the "quick save" feature - saving at any point that you choose. So if you get to a hard spot you can quick save right before and you don't have to do the level over and over again from the last checkpoint. If Splinter Cell had a quick save - I'd give it 5 stars - maybe a quick save feature is less challenging - but less frustrating as well.
But, you do get better, and after a while it will become quite addictive.

HUZZAH!!! Finally a tom clancy game thats worth playing!! this game is great in every aspect. It has great lighting effects, graphics, easy controls, hours upon hours of stealth based action. I advise anyone with good common sense to buy this X-box classic.

Glorious, jaw dropping graphics and heart stopping, ultra smooth gameplay make this an unrivalled game playing experience.

Yes, perhaps the missions can become somewhat repetitive but there is no denying that each one is immersive, detailed and tense which results in a highly addictive gaming experience.

The awsome power of the Xbox was made for games like this. The game is at present only available on xbox although it is coming to PS2 at a future date. It is difficult however to see how PS2 can replicate the detail and gameplay afforded by the xbox.

This game is unique. It can be difficult, it can be frustrating but it can also be highly exciting, tense and rewarding.

I would wholehartedly recommend this game to anyone with an Xbox console.

This game is one of the best for x-box for many reasons!

PROS: graphics, plot, items, difficulty, moves

CONS: you can't pick up the peoples weapons, if you find any more write a review and say them
