I haven't played Metal Gear Solid 2: Substanse yet, but I can say that so far this is the best stealth game out that also contains much action. The gadgets are terrific, and so are the graphics. The plot is simple to comprehend, and I recommend this to ALMOST every age, unless parents find the violence to much... I want to try Metal Gear Solid 2, though, and then find which one is the absolute best. However, people compare this game and MGS2 way too much, and they are totally different. One is more of reality (splinter cell) and one is more of a fantasy (metal gear solid 2)
Pros:
Great graphics, action, and stealth! So many gadgets to make you feel very powerful when playing the game. The sound is also terrific, you hear every movement, gunshot, and voice of every character.
Cons:
Controls may be difficult at first. You must use both control sticks, but the basic training does cover it. Unfortunately, this is only a 1 player game, so this wouldn't be the kind of game to bring to a friend's house. However, I could not see a stealth game like this being 2 player. Also, the first level may be found tedious and you are not able to use the super-cool heat-vision until you have completed a few missions.

This is a great game for people who want a challenge.
The only problem is it doesn't have a multiplayer.

Splinter cell is a superb stealth title with a high replay value. This was the main reason i bought the Xbox, well this and Halo (altough the free games that come with the sytem are excellent). The missions are difficult and areas are very detailed, some jaw dropping. My favorite mission is the no casualties mission, this mission will allow you to use your imagination to get past guards. The only negative thing i could say about the game is that the story isn't as compelling as Metal gear solid, although the gameplay is better, graphics wise id still have to say i was more impressed with Metal Gear. Overall this game was fun and i would highly recommend it to anyone with an Xbox.
Very Good Game

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Is gat to be 1of the top 3 games for xbox. The bad part is though that is some of the levels you can't kill anyone. But one of the best things about the game is all of the different moves compared to some games where all u can do is run and roll. sam can do split jumps, rolls, rapple shooting, jump in and on to things and thats only a few. in the CIA HQ u get you sc20k which has a multiporpose luancher.its not for people who just like ruuning around shooting and killing not worring about the alarms. some missions 1 alarm will result in a failure. This game gets 5 stars.

This is the best game I've ever played! It is smartly designed to let you do a lot of stealthy tricks to get by tough areas. It keeps me playing it for 7 hours each day! Okay let me describe this game in each category. GAMEPLAY: Most of the time it is fun and extremely challenging. You have to have the skills to get through this game and takes some thinking. However, there are some very frustrating parts of the game that keep you stuck on it for about 30 minutes. There will be times where you will be on the same part for about 1 hour. ONly a very hardcore gamer can finish this game with no walkthrough. Overall, this part gets 4 stars. GRAPHICS: Very well designed. There is nothing much I can say about it. Some parts of it is unrealistic but the part I like the most about section is that the shadows move as the characters move. The characters are very well designed and look good. This section gets 4.5/5. SOUND: Although there is rarely any music in the game, I am quite impressed with this section. The voice acting was done well. The person who acted as Sam Fisher could have done a better job, because at times you couldn't hear what he is saying. The guards did an excellent job. Their accents perfectly suit the setting. Example: When in Georgia, they have a russian accent, something like that, and when you go to the U.S. on the 4th level they have american accents. What I don't like is that there aren't that many sound effects. The sound of the pistol shot is quite dull, but the gunshots of other guns are cool. You also have a wide selection of weapons and realistic gadjets. This section gets a 4/5.
Overall, this game gets an 8.5/10

This is the most realistic game I have ever had the chance to play. I'm normally not one to give such enthusiastic reviews, but I honestly believe this is absolutly the best game ever created for any format.

There's not much that can be said about this game that hasnt already. Stunning visual affects, great control, and a very engrousing theme. The only problem I had with this game is that its just too short. Yes short. I just cant get enough of it.

So I just got my Xbox this Christmas... my first newgen system since Dreamcast... that's right I'm behind.... Well I was neandering around whe mall when I reached Gamestop and decided to have a look at some additions for my lovely 'box. I saw Splinter Cell and thought about my friend ranting about it. I decided to give it a shot.
I get it home, I pop it in, and I didn't take my eyes off that screen for the next two hours. (By the way I got a horrible stiffness in my neck afterwards.) I do not read Tom Clancy novels, I have never played an espionague game before, I am not that into military stuff but DUDE this game just swept me away. The training mission lets you get ahold of what you're doing with ease despite the less than super sensitive buttons on the Xbox controller, and there are several checkpoints through each mission to return to if you flub it up which I have done on countless times.... But once you know what to do and how to pull it off, won't you have something to show your friends... you Rapel down a building and through a window from where you grab a guard, knock him out, hide his body, shoot out the camera, steal information from a computer, then shoot a the computer up just for fun (not reccomended if you don't want to run out of bullets like I often do). This game is just... man, I would say sound is 10/10, control is 9.5/10, graphics are 10/10 and overall fun is like 11/10 man.... I don't care how new you are to the genre, I am... GET THIS GAME. [...] AND ORDER IT NOW (just kidding).
Unbelievable!

I thought all the hype was from people who liked medal gear solid 2. I thought MGS2 was way over-rated and altogether cheesy--with that exclamation [stuff]. However, Splinter cell is absolutely incredible and gives one enough play time the 1st time through to justify the cost. Also, this game is one of the few single player games that would still be a blast to play a second time through. Many have said this: Splinter Cell is second only to Halo. If you have an X box, it is a MUST BUY. Overall: excellent gameplay and controls, great story (immersion galore), fun as hell. ENJOY!!!!
