When a friend suggested to me to buy this game, I frowned in disbelief mainly becasue Episode I and II had just come out I was very disappionted with the overall quality of these movies and swore to myself that I would never buy a Star Wars product ever again. Bad mistake becasue after my friend had convinced me to go out and buy it, I found that i was addicted to it.
Now I'm not a big fan of RPGs, but I found this game's engine to be very easy to both learn and to master. The character's are fully custimizable and range from a psycho droid to a lumbering wookie to a Jedi hermit. You can change everything from armor to weapons to headgear on your characters while they are with you.
The cutscenes are absolutly beautiful are almost make me beleive that I am in a movie theatre for a few seconds.
The two things that really make this game though are the dark/light choices and the story line. Everything that you do in the game affects your dark/light alignment, which in turn dictates your appearence and how costly some dark or light side force moves will be. The story is amazing and compelled me to play the game all the way to the end just to find out the final of many plot twists at the end.
Overall, this game was amazing and I would suggest it to anyone who wants to play either a deep story driven game or someone who just wants to crack some heads after watching Episode I.
Damn Good Game

This game is awsome. It is hard but not very hard and hell you can duel weild lightsabers. Just as long as you have someone else with you that uses a blaster or a ranged weapon you will be fine. All I can say is damn is this game good.
This game is fun but sort of confusing

Though I like this game a lot I found that it is much better on the computer. Because of the keyboard the computer version has more freedom and doesn't have to fit all the controls on a xbox controller. So if you have a computer and xbox and want this game go for the pc version.
This Game Takes Place a Really, Really Long Time Ago.

I grew up on the original Star Wars movies. I've been a fan of the universe that Lucas built for most of my life. However, when I first heard about KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC, I was hesitant about playing it. I like the original universe that Lucas created and the world of KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC seemed a bit unnecessary to me. I mean, the original movies and books made Lucas a fortune and I just couldn't understand why well enough couldn't be left alone. Granted the age of the Old Republic is the perfect place to spawn new Star Wars tales without damaging the content or history of the classic series. My curiosity about the game became further piqued when the game won several video game awards. I eventually gave in and played the game and I'm glad that I did.
Like many other Star War games, in KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC you create a character that seems to be tapped into the Force. You're able to use a lightsaber (or better yet, a double-bladed lightsaber when you find them), become trained in the Force, and eventually gain many different Force powers. There are other skills that can be acquired throughout the game and during your quest, you can be joined by several different characters that you can choose to play as throughout the game, including a Han Solo-kind-of-guy named Carth and a droid that reminds one C-3PO if he was more masculine and was an assassin instead of a protocol droid.
The gameplay of KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC isn't really anything spectacular and the graphics are just a tad better than standard. What separates the game from other similar games is the storyline. KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC boasts an original story that makes a player want to continue playing just to see how the story will end. Throughout the game your actions determine the nature of your character and ultimately there are four different ways the game can end. I played the game so that I could see the four different endings.
The game isn't as open-ended as the marketers have made it out to be. Everyone who plays the game gets the general same experience, the major differences being in if characters join your group and how they behave. The overall scenario is virtually the same with little variation. Also, as noted before the graphics aren't that great--you would think that with an original Star Wars game, the creators would be able to come up with something more impressive.
Overall, KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC is a great video game. Star War fans are sure to enjoy it (if they are willing to put aside their initial reluctance), but people who aren't fans will enjoy playing the game as well.

I didn't expect much from this game, since I didn't really play many Star Wars games, and I had no idea who BioWare was. This game amazed me with its epic storyline. You can choose where you want your character to end up and how. Great Star Wars feel and very amazing storyline.
Great Game but a little bit wierd

So basically I bought this game 3 days ago and basically I just realized that this game is an MMORPG Game because you have to connect to XBOX Live in order to play this game. If you are playing it on the XBOX 360 you have to update it and basically you also need to connect to XBOX live in order to update it and you start playing immediately and I am not kidding I'm dead serious! So anyway I still think it's a good game but for those of you who have an XBOX 360 you got to make sure you are connected to XBOX Live and get some updates and everything. So anyway if anyone who has this game to play on the XBOX 360 you'll understand soon enough what I mean alright! I give this game a 3 out of 5!
succeeds on many levels

This is one of my favorite XBOX games, second only to Morrowind. The story is very entertaining -- not nearly as rediculous and predictable as most games. In fact, it's better than a lot of movies I've seen.
The gameplay is also very solid, rarely annoying. I had only one crash and encountered almost no glitches. A minor complaint is that you eventually acquire a long list of items, making inventory navigation sluggish (even though you can sort items into categories). Another minor complaint is that you can't name the saved games.
This is a "can't miss" game. It's appropriate for all ages (although it will be difficult for anyone under 13 to finish without help). Took me about 50 hours to complete, though you could do it faster with help, or if you skip some of the side quests.

I got this game for my birthday and I love it! It is one of the best games I've ever played. If you are planninng on getting this game then please do. It is really fun. The downsides sre that you don't start out with a lightsaber and you have to use blasters near the beggining of the game. Anyway you get to travel to around 8 planets in your starship. You can choose the path of the light or dark depending on your actions and you can choose from 60 force powers and feats. Well that's all, bye.
Best Game I have ever played

Being a die-hard fan of Star Wars, I found it no surprise when I ended up buying this game. And I must say from gameplay, that it is probably one of, if not, the best Star Wars games out there. That doesn't neccesarily mean that it is perfect, but it comes close.
What people should know is that this is a strict RPG style system using rules from Dungeons and Dragons. Some might be turned of by this, but having multiple endings and choices between Light Side and Dark Side adds high replay value and the story will hook you even if you aren't a fan of RPG's. Combat is a bit of real time mixed with turn based. You can pause and give actions to your character. It might not please some that you don't have complete control over the character, but this is easily overlooked.
PROS
Interesting story and multiple choices for it make it very interesting.
Story and Voice Acting are pretty good.
Gameplay easy to learn
Customization of Characters a fun plus.
CONS
Glitches do occur, I have had this happen once before and it made my game freeze. This sometimes happens during movies and character conversations as well.
There is now downloadable content for this game, but if you don't have the internet connection, your SOL.
RPG style might not appeal to some.
LOTS to do, if you want to complete everything, you might want a guide, but overall, not too challenging.
Despite a few minor problems here and there, KOTOR is a definate must have for the X-box, and any Star Wars Fan. The story and gameplay will get you loving Star Wars again.
