Battlefront: Real Life Senario in Futuristic times!

Guys, This game is the best! I have friends who HATED star wars stuff that were playing this game! This and Halo 2 will/ have topped the charts! What makes this game so unique to other star wars games is it's battlefield senario- (thus the name). It is almost exactly like 'Medal of Honor' or anyother battle game made for modern systems to a MUCH MUCH greater scale! You can chose from, as said, the rebels or the empire and even the clones! You can be clones or AI as in the movies Episode II and III of Star Wars. The action NEVER stops in this game!

I give it 5 out of 5 stars!

Highly Overated and Disappointing

I am reviewing the XBox version of Star Wars Battlefront, so therefore that could have something to do with my negative experience with the game and perhaps the other versions of this game were better. I cannot say for sure. It also seems that this game is geared more toward multiplayer gaming, which doesn't do me much good since I don't have XBox Live nor any other means of playing with anyone else at the moment.

Nevertheless, let me say that based upon my exeriences with this game, I can safely say that I have flushed $50 down the toilet in my purchase. The only positive outcome is that I was able to get most of that money back by selling this game on Ebay very easily, which attests to just how overrated this game truly is.

Never in all my years of gaming have I ever played a game with a more awkward and horrible control scheme. The real challange here is not to get your character through the environments, but rather it is in the struggle to properly control your character, which presents a huge challange in and of itself; just not the kind I am looking for. Instead, I ended up getting myself killed because killing enemy troops seems impossible, because the controls were so messed up; I ended up getting killed every two seconds because I could not control my character, period. Let's not even get into trying to fly one of the ships; I spent the entire time while attempting that feat trying to get back into the battle because the ship seemed to have a mind of its own, and I eventually just gave up and crashed it.

But dying again and again isn't really a problem, because eventually the level just winds up beating itself, and you win out nowhere. Where's the fun in that, you ask? Well, I can't find any either. I'd much rather beat the level myself, rather than just have the game decide its time to move onto the next battle. But instead of actually interacting with the game and participating in the battle, I am instead forced to struggle with the controls all the while getting killed every five seconds.

The one redeeming aspect this game has is its environments, which are beautifully rendered and stay true to the movies. I'll give credit where credit is due, but no matter now great the environments (the ones I saw anyway, in the short time I could actually endure this game before the frustration became too much), it doesn't save it if the gameplay is absolutely horrible.

Such a great concept, such a sore disappointment.

Hopefully one of the best star wars games ever!!

Well, i haven't had a chance to play this since it has not come out yet, but from what i know, you will get to play as the rebels, imperials, republics, or seperatists on worlds spread across the galaxy, inculding tatoonine, kamino, yavin IV, naboo, geonosis, endor, etc. this won't be any normal battle game either, you will get to play as, for example (repubic forces) a clone trooper, at-te, speeder bike, (rebel forces) rebel trooper, x-wing, air speeder, rebel sniper, rebel rocket launcher trooper, etc. (seperatist forces) battle droid, droideka, super battle droid, tank, hailfire droid, etc. (imperial forces) storm trooper, at-st, tie-fighter, etc. this game looks very promising and i am looking forward to it. deffinately a buy-not-rent game.

This game is POOR. Chalk me up as a mark ... a victim of the hype. I'm not a hardcore gamer but the concept sounded interesting. Hook, line, sinker. (...). All you do in this game is run around shooting things up for NO GOOD REASON at all. If you hop in one of the vehicles, good luck trying to figure out who's on your side. There's NO STORY, very little correlation with the movies & really no reason to waste your time with this game because bottom line, it's BORING.

This is the best star wars game i've played so far.The multiplayer is really fun.I play my dad all the time.There is only one thing wrong with it though.The single-player mode is just too short.I love the weapons.My favorite people are the arc troopers,wookies,droidikas,and storm troopers.My faveorite vehicles are the jedi star fighters,the at-te,droid star fighters,staps,spider walkers,x-wings,tie bombers,and the at-st.Overall it's a great game.I recomend it to anyome who can play the xbox.

First off this game is so cool, the places where you fight are amazing and the weapons are cool such as the rocket launcher. This game you play as the republic,droids,and then empire and rebals. The armys have different types of people and the graphics are cool. You also can fly alot of the spacships in the game. Multiplayer is cool in coop and I want to try xbox live but by this game it's worth it.

This game Is very cool. If you were a Battlefield fan, you will love this game. This game has explosions, many vehicles, a lot of different soldiers, and starship flights. There are two different types of eras, Clone Wars and Galactic Civil war. When I played this game, I didn't put the controller down for about two hours! You should play this game on the medium difficulty, because if you play it on easy, it's a snap and not fun. So go with my opinion. This is a must have game!

this game is one of the best shooters i've ever played. no story, thats ok don't need it its a star wars copy of battlefield 1942. its a fun shooter vehicles for me easy to control..... but could be better,like maybe more vehicles &hope there is an expansion

This game may not be the most creative game ever made, but for the young at heart starwars fan, it hits the spot. You run around and shoot things... but it's really fun running around and shooting; and it looks and feels like you always hoped a starwars game would but never did, and that's huge.

Don't listen to the disappointments. Multi-player (online mode) makes the game what it is..............A+. This game is one I will be playing over and over for a long while. Definitely a buy (if you rent you will be charged for late fees b/c you will want to continue playing or you will miss playing once you have returned it and it is checked out for a year).
