Greatest game in years!

There's a reason this game won awards and acclaim from every video-gaming site, magazine, and show out there: because it's that damn good.

It's a superhero beat'em-up with style, and substance. The VFX powers (zoom, slow, mach) are more than just gimmicks; they make the game what it is--insanely cool and fun. This game is like "the Matrix" (the movie) meets "Max Payne", in terms of presentation and innovation, respectively. In terms of pure fun, this game has no equal. The graphics are great if you're into cel-shaded animation. If you're not a fan of cel-shading, you can still enjoy this game. The gameplay is f'n sweet.

Aside from the superb style and gameplay, what sets this game apart from most games these days is the challenge. It's challenging without being (overly) frustrating, and when you defeat a boss, or pass a level, you really feel a great sense of satisfaction for having done so.

All in all, a fantastic game.

Awesome Game!!!!! Instant Classic

This game rocks. the graphics are great, as is the sound. But the most amazing part of this game is the gameplay. It is unreal, the moves are awesome, the action fierce, bosses fun and challenging. Overall a classic.

Viewtiful Joe is a fresh experience that gives a major overhaul on the 2d side-scrolling fighting/platformer genre - one that many gamers have craved for since the bombardment of generic titles with bucket-loads of blood and neon-underlights.

The game runs a movie motif, and this theme is carried out consistently throughout the game. It's also the backbone of Joe's 3 VFX abilities (slow, mach speed, zoom) which are used throughout the game for puzzles, platforming and fighting. Amazingly none of these areas feel half-baked; Capcom have worked hard to provide a cool experience in all genres. While the fighting scenes seem extremely stylish and complex, it is actually simple to pull off; a testament of VJ's tight, intuitive and responsive controls.

VJ features an excellent graphical style reminiscent of a full-motion comic, catchy music and most importantly - rewarding game play concepts that encourages the player to be creative.

Viewtiful Joe is a must-have for your cube collection. Henshin-a-go-go!

This game is one of the greatest i ever played. The graphics are amazing and the fighting is so cool. you even get to go in slow motion. The only doubt about this game is that the game is hard. If you have a gamecube or a ps2 and your searching for a game get Viewtiful joe.

trust the master, buy this game

Viewtiful Joe is awesome. I don't even know what else I can say, it's a great game, even though its a side scroller, which I thought I gave up on after I outgrew the old mario games for gameboy. But anyway, in this game you can slow down or speed up time, so you can kill the bad guys really fast or watch it all in slow motion. Its like the wwf. anyway, buy it.

this game is viewtiful!

Like everyone has said, this is a return to the 2D games, and what better way to usher in the revival of the 2D side-scrollers than to also introduce a really cool character. That character would be Viewtiful Joe, a nerd who worships his favorite super hero, only to be sucked into one of the hero's movies and becomes part of it. This game is great and shows that 3D is awesome, but 2D can still hold up to the best of them. This game has all of what you want and need in a game, and an over abundance of challenges. This game is really challenging, so amateur gamers beware! If you love games with an edge and challenging missions, then this is your game!

Just when you worry that game developers no longer are going to make great 2D games, along comes Capwith Viewtiful Joe. One of the most stylish, great looking, exciting, pure fun games in a long long time. From the visuals looking like a live action comic book to the ability to slow down (your moves become more powerful) and speed up time (you appear to be multiple people and attack everyone on screen) or even zoom in to get a nicer view of the action (do extra damage and hit both of your enemies if they try to gang up on you on both sides). It's just a great new take on the sidescrolling 2D (or as this game is 2.5D (backgrounds are 3D) action genre. NnyCW for CapCity
