I recently had a chance to play Viewtiful Joe for the Nintendo GameCube, and I must say, I'm very Impressed. Anyways, In the game you play as Joe, who is sucked into the "Movie World", and must battle enemy robot/skull/bat/joker things(trust me, they're cool)using Kung-Fu. After a ways through, you are granted a "henshin"(transform) ability. When your meter fills up, you transform in to Viewtiful Joe, a Power-Ranger like superhero with cool abilities. VJ can slow down time, Matrix-style, and dodge bullets and all of that great stuff. Or, VJ can go "Mach-Speed" and bash enemies at blazing, Sonic the Hedgehog speeds. If you get a chance, buy the demo...

Hard or Easy?

I got the Demo of this game and it is fun.At first its hard but after a while it becomes easy.After you learn how to douge everything (like me) you could beat 3 levls or more (possibly).Use various moves like Slooooooooow,MACH SPEED and move I don't know how to do ZooM.Sloooooow is to beat enemys that are fast and to dodge bullets that the eye can't see.MACH SPEED is to go really fast to beat enemys that are in a row cause there tons of punching alusins of you.ZooM is if your in the middle of enemys and do moves like a split kick.But you have a limed of time but to have more is to collect V-Movies (What I call them).

first thing, i own the Jap version (i used the freeloader which i bought for this game).
in the game you play joe which he and his girlfriend went to see a movie and suddenly he and his girl friend are sucked into the movie.
some bad guys kidnaped joe's girl and he goes to rescue her.
then joes favorite super hero and role model captain blue appears and gives joe his powers and the V-watch which helps you go viewtiful!
in the start you get cool powers like SLOW which slows everything Mach speed which speeds you up and zoom does a zoomlike feature and you can kill some bad guys, as you collect the coins in the game you got more credits to buy more cool abilitys which means you can kill alot and like super cool while doing it.
the game also judges you by how cool you were cause remember your in a movie.
you will need to use your powers to solve puzzels in the game.
when its out dont wait a second go out and buy it!

I got the import version of Viewtiful Joe when it came out in Japan and all I can say about this game is it is VIEWTIFUL. Not only does it bring back wonderful memories of classic 2D side scroller games but it adds so much more to the basic 2D formula that it will make your jaw drop. This game has the style, substance, and all the right things that make games what they should be...FUN! With multiple difficulties and plenty of worth while unlockables you will easily get more then 50 hours of gameplay out of Viewtiful Joe. Everything from controls, to graphics are perfect and even though the game might seem difficult to the more casual gamer it is so much fun you probably won't even care that you can't beat some parts first try. So do yourselves all a favor and buy Viewtiful Joe when it comes out Stateside because games like this need the support. I know I will be buying another copy to support VJ in the USA.

I got the Viewtiful Joe demo and I was blown away!! I thought it looked like a stupid game, but it is one of the most fun games on the Nintendo Gamecube that I have played yet! It is awesome how you can dodge moves from the robots and slow down to blow them into oblivion!! My favorite move is with two robots on either side. I have to dodge a high and low move. I go low to dodge the first and high to dodge the second. They are both dazed and I demolish them both with one punch!!! Don't let the graphics of Viewtiful Joe turn you away because the gameplay is some of the most fun you will have in a long time. Even on the demo, I fought (what seemed to be bosses) a Joker from a slot machine, a Bandit with two guns that you can only dodge by slowing down time, and a chopper that shot missiles and bullets at you do dodge as you punch and kick the flying chopper out of the sky. Overall buy Viewtiful Joe NOW. You will be happy about this decision.

Viewtiful Joe is a great game with stylish graphics. If you like side scrolling action games with good braincracking puzzles then you must buy (or pre-order) this game.

Joe has some special moves that can help him to beat his enemies much better but the special moves are also the key to unlock the puzzles. The screenshots that you find on the net are cool but in real life the game is a little bitter nicer and beter.

Also a good import game because every character speaks English and there are only subtitles in the language of the land of the rising sun.

The kind of games are very good but also rare. You will fall in love when you see this game and i can recommend the game to almost everybody. There are also different difficult levels for Adults and Childeren.

"Henshin-a-go-go baby!"

This game is fantastic, such a breath of fresh air from the usual stuff that's being fed to us ever since video games went 'main stream.'

The game offers a great cel-shading look to it that you would expect of a Japanese cartoon and adds to the atmosphere of the game. One of the first things I thought when I played the game was how much it looked like a comic book style and the entire game is very vivid and unique. Unlike most games these days, this is pure 2D beat-em' up goodness done right.

You play as Joe, who gets sucked into 'movie-land' where he must save his girlfriend Silvia. But before he can, he learns how to use his 'hero' powers to transform himself into Viewtiful Joe! Gaining powers such as "Slow", "Mach Speed", and "Zoom", Joe must learn to use his new abilities to overthrow the evil Jadow and rescue MovieLand!

From the makers of Devil May Cry comes a new action hit that's a must have for any gamer who's looking for a challenge!

Having played the demo and levels of the import version of Viewtiful Joe, I can comfortably say it is one of the better, (maybe more like the best?) games on the Gamecube. Many will shrug this off as outdated because of the two dimensional side scroller "old school"(I hate that term) gameplay but the style of the graphics and gameworld combined with deep, replayable gameplay make VJ great.

i just import the japanese ver. and it really is a great game

it's so cool .. it have many new things like the the Matrix-style actoin that presnted in a very good way not like any other games .. and the graphics are very good cell-shaded and surrounded by black lines, making screenshots look like they're pictures in a comic book rather than gameplay footage ...

every thing in this game is so great and fresh .. all of you should get this game .. and i promise you will have alot of fun .

I have the demo and the import version of Viewtiful Joe, and I've just gotta say that I'm amazed at how fun and surprisingly deep this game is. at first I thought it was just going to be the typical beat 'em up, but once you get to using the viewtiful powers like Slow and Mach Speed and Zoom In, you can see how much variety this game offers. and if you think this game just gets repetitive after 2 levels, think again...you can constantly buy newer and better moves to kick even more variety into the mix. After reaching the end of the levels and seeing your overall rating, it becomes incredibly addicting trying to replay the level and perform more "viewtifully". It's also important to note that this game, unlike most beat 'em ups, has a nice challenge to it...it's not likely that the player will fly through the game in one day, let alone one week. I also think it's worth noting that nothing gets you quite as pumped to K.O. some baddies as joe saying, "henshin-a-go-go-baby!" I love it! I don't know what else to say except BUY THIS GAME!!!
