This game is the dumbest game i have ever played in my life. It is worse than aqua man wich really sucked. He run around and does splits like a dumb ass and the fighting is retarded

I heard good reviews about this game and decided to buy it. At first I thought it was pretty fun, but after the third boss or so, I became tired of it. I don't know what it was that finally made me realized that this game sucks, but it did it well. Here is what I think it might have been:

-The fighting (became trite)
-Special effects (weren't good)
-Story line (cliched)
-Voices (horrendously inane)
-Graphics (nice, but the comic-book drawings were kind of dumb)

Methinks that what I hate about the game is excatly what people love about it. I lost the game so I didn't try finishing it, which doesn't really bother me. I suggest renting the game before buying. That will save you money--or it would have for me anyway.

ok but graphics ruin it

WAY WAY too difficult. Don't bother taking time to look at the scenery on this game, you'll be back to look at it again soon. When you get killed (and this will happen a LOT) you start at the way way beginning of a level, so you'll get plenty of opportunities to see the same scenes again and again. I'm a fairly sophisticated gamer, and I regret chosing the "adult" difficulty setting. I don't know who they think they're selling these games to. If you do risk buying it, chose the easy setting. There are very very few save points. The only reason you make progress, if you tough it out, is because you make "money" when you beat up bad guys and eventually you can buy power ups that get you through tough areas.

I judge a game's success by how I feel after playing it. If I feel amused and entertained, and I can't wait to find out what happens next then it's a good purchase. With Viewtiful Joe, it's like a angry grudge. I played about half way through it and I've been irritated and angry at Capcom the whole time. What a horrble way to spend a night.

I will never pay retail for a Capcom game again. Buy it from a second-hand seller.

I'm glad to see that a "2dish" game is around for us that miss the 16-bit days when "Final Fight" and "Streets of Rage" ruled consoles. I bought this game for $20 (not worth more) and played it enough but simply stopped after a while. It's not that the game is difficult, it just doesn't "keep" grabbing my interest. I'm sure I'll play the game again but if I had to compare its replayability against a game such as the Wind Waker, Viewtiful Joe would lose. If I had to compare it to Luigi's Mansion, Viewtiful Joe would win.

Cool

I recently had a chance to play Viewtiful Joe for the Nintendo GameCube, and I must say, I'm very Impressed. Anyways, In the game you play as Joe, who is sucked into the "Movie World", and must battle enemy robot/skull/bat/joker things(trust me, they're cool)using Kung-Fu. After a ways through, you are granted a "henshin"(transform) ability. When your meter fills up, you transform in to Viewtiful Joe, a Power-Ranger like superhero with cool abilities. VJ can slow down time, Matrix-style, and dodge bullets and all of that great stuff. Or, VJ can go "Mach-Speed" and bash enemies at blazing, Sonic the Hedgehog speeds. If you get a chance, buy the demo...

First of all, try finding this game on a shelf in any game store. It's HOT and it is THAT GOOD! Besides all the great comments that are already posted, this game gives you the option to HANDICAP the difficulty level for a child to play. My three year old son is hooked and it's just a trip to hear him shout out "Henshin A Go-Go Baby!" and "You Want some!?" as he plays along. For the big kids, it's just as fun (and challenging) as it gets. This one's a keeper.

Actually a nice linear game for the "higher" systems.

Much like nostalgia with cars and music, linear makes a comeback. Ok, not a comeback, but atleast a noteworthy title that we can breathe a breath of recognition and sit down and just have alittle fun and remember games of those simplier times. Like anything mass produced 3D games have become ho hum and nothing seems on the horizon of originallity. What does one do to create a decent game? Go to the past. They are doing it with fashion and about everything else with a society with an extreme case of writer's block, but you have to admit that Viewtiful Joe is fun. The graphics are fun and cartoony the voice acting is funny (at times anyway) despite poor dialogue and an even worse plot. That isn't what makes Joe tick. Joe is just fun. Stupid fun. Fun of the purest form. My only compliant is darn is this thing hard. "Hard" meaning difficult. I found myself wanting to launch the Gamecube out of the nearest window when encountering certain bosses and the game is filled with difficult little tasks that success is determined by as much luck as it is skill. It's like that one difficult jump on the original Super Mario Brothers (level 8 you know which one I'm talking about) muliplied like 100 times. You will always find yourself returning to play though after you've taken a break to cool down. This game is 4 stars in my book and it's all because of fun factor. I recommend this title completely.
