I got the Demo of this game and it is fun.At first its hard but after a while it becomes easy. After you learn how to douge everything (like me) you could beat 3 levls or more (possibly).Use various moves like Slooooooooow,MACH SPEED and move I don't know how to do ZooM.Sloooooow is to beat enemys that are fast and to dodge bullets that the eye can't see.MACH SPEED is to go really fast to beat enemys that are in a row cause there tons of punching alusins of you.ZooM is if your in the middle of enemys and do moves like a split kick. But you have a limed of time but to have more is to collect V-Movies (What I call them).

One of the best on Gamecube!!!!

I got the Viewtiful Joe demo and I was blown away!! I thought it looked like a stupid game, but it is one of the most fun games on the Nintendo Gamecube that I have played yet! It is awesome how you can dodge moves from the robots and slow down to blow them into oblivion!! My favorite move is with two robots on either side. I have to dodge a high and low move. I go low to dodge the first and high to dodge the second. They are both dazed and I demolish them both with one punch!!! Don't let the graphics of Viewtiful Joe turn you away because the gameplay is some of the most fun you will have in a long time. Even on the demo, I fought (what seemed to be bosses) a Joker from a slot machine, a Bandit with two guns that you can only dodge by slowing down time, and a chopper that shot missiles and bullets at you do dodge as you punch and kick the flying chopper out of the sky. Overall buy Viewtiful Joe NOW. You will be happy about this decision.

Just call me, Viewtiful Joe

' Henshin a go-go, baby!'

' Joe, why don't you show me some off-screen action?'

'How'dj you know this place was called Movie Land. I get it, you's some punk from the real world.'

' HA HA HA!! I WILL TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!'
' Um, hello! Something bad is supposed to happen before the good guy appears to bust out some moves and save the day!'
' Hmm, I not of what this idiot speaks.'

' I am Captain Blue.'
' Really!? Can I have you autograph!?'
' No.'

Remember being a kid, playing Super Nes Beat em ups with your bro? I do, best times of my life, and Viewtiful Joe lets you relive them all. The story is that, Joe, while at the theater, watching a movie with his girl, Silvia, abou his favourite hero, CAPTAIN BLUE!!! Then his ladyfriend tries to make out with him the theater, but seriously, can't she be considerate, I mean, they're not the only ones who are going to sit there. Anyways, something weird happens with the film, and Suddenly, a huge Robot that Captain Blue says ' HA HA HA! The girl is mine!' Then grabs Silvia, and sucks her into the film. Then the robot Captain Blue is using sucks him into the movie as well. Joe then starts fighting these robots, and learns Kung Fu. Then Captain Blue appears and teaches Joe how to use the V-Watch, which unlocks the heroness within him. Some you'll begin to use some, qwhich will; let you see and dodge bullets, do detailed attacks, and gie an even stronger pummelling. After this. chances are, you'll fall hopelessly in love with the game. But that's not where it ends, then you'll get, Mach Speed, which will allow you to: Speed up time, pull fast as @$$ moves, create an aura of flame around yourself. Then just when you thought this ganme was th boss of all boss games, You'll get Zoom in, not only will you see Joe in a pose, but you'l also be able to do cool stuff by mixing powers. For instance, one of the coolest moves exclusive to zoom, is the sideways spin. Doing the Sideays spin in Zoom AND Slow Mo will let you do and totally cool, Slow Mo, even STRONGER Sideways Spin, this will score you BIG points! Then, when the going gets REAL tough, Go Zoom, Mach Speed and Sideways Spin, then, you'll do a move I like to call, The Sideways Helicopter. Let me just say this, the name of the move IS the the move. For those who are wonder, do Zoom and X to do the sideways spin. More Zoom moves include jump in a tornado, CRASHING to the floor, both of which ae the solution to the many of the very difficult puzzles in the game. As for the Sound, man, the sound, is tottally cool, it's got nice tunes, and STUNNING FX, just listen to that robot blow man! The graphics, well, the Cel Shaded may look (***), but trust me man, it makes Viewtiful Joe, a (...) lot more Viewtiful. Overall, just buy the (...) game.

First and foremost, if you don't already own this game, go out and buy it, you won't be sorry.

This game reminds gamers as to why they play videogames- to be blown away visually, audioly, and mentally.

Screenshots for this game give it no justice. At first it may look grainy, but once you're playing the game, you'll just be amazed at how tight the control is, and how beautiful the graphics are; it's as if you're playing a cartoon.

The sound for the game is magnificient! The voice-overs all work wonderfully, and the soundtrack for the game keeps your head noddin'.

This game amazes me every time I play it. This is as close to video game perfectin that you can get, and that's an understatement.

Who says side scrolling video games are dead?

The action packed side scroller genre has made a triumphant return on a next generation gaming system. 'Viewtiful Joe' is everything one can remember from the prime of the old side scroller days plus a lot more. This game is an example of genre evolution at its very best.
The hero of this game is Joe; a regular guy who acquires superhero powers after being sucked in to the world of the movies. Joe can punch and kick his way through the game's many well designed levels, but the real gem of his powers lies in his ability to upgrade them. By completing levels or by spending earned V-Points (the game's currency), Joe can ammend his cadre of supermoves.
The most useful of Joe's abilities are his three VFX powers. These powers give Joe the ability to slow down, speed up, or zoom in on the game's action. The VFX powers are also used to solve puzzles contained within the levels. The powers lend themselves nicely to the game's easy to learn, fluid controls.
'Viewtiful Joe' uses cel shading for both its characters and graphic environments, which adds to both the intuitive atmosphere and overall feel of the game -- the game has a very well designed look that faithfully serves to enhance the gameplay experience.
If there is a flaw in the game, it would be that it's too short. However, the game itself makes a valiant attempt at remedying this problem by offering replay value in the form of unlockable characters and higher difficulty levels. (The game's default difficulty is set at just the right level so that, for new players, it remains challenging while not being frustrating.)
If you've been waiting for a good side scroller or are just looking for the next great action game, don't hesitate to pick up Viewtiful Joe -- it's one of GameCube's best!

Joe makes you use your head, but it's a ton of fun!

I just got a Wii and was searching around for cheap Gamecube games that I could plan on it and found this title.

This is one of the funnest games I've played in a long time.

The 2D to "3D" switch when Joe transforms is really amazing.

They put some serious thought into this game.

It's like I've been transported into a cool 80s cartoon or something.

I don't see how anybody could not love Viewtiful Joe!

I can't stand Viewtiful Joe right now.

Ok, I admit this game can be really fun, and it could have been 5 stars, but the super annoying parts detract three whole stars. It's a one hit wonder, and I don't much like it right now. Frankly the boss characters are WAY too hard. I mean really way way too hard, at least in adult mode. I haven't tried the kids mode yet. You can breeze through the fun levels, and you get to a boss, and you sit around for literally two hours trying to figure out the weak points of the boss. I like to think I'm pretty good at games, but this game can be really irritating. When a game is so tedious that you want to kick your console into orbit. Wellll that is just too stupid for words. Also the sound track while good at times... has really annoying parts. Like the underwater level. It repeats "Warning a bomb has been armed" the whole time you are playing it until you disarm the bomb. Lets say an hour or two of this annoying voice. My fingers hurt, and it's not worth it at all. I wonder how many people who reviewed this game with 5 stars finished it. This is one of those games where I think there isn't much content in the game in terms of chapters or what have you, so to make it last longer the game designers made it too hard. Designer guys, if you are reading this; make the game longer, not harder. Harder games just get annoying after awhile, and then I don't buy from that company again. I think I should have realized this because it is a typical capcom tactic. If you had Viewtiful Joe in one hand and Ratchet & Clank in the other. You would throw Viewtiful Joe away in the trash and hold Ratchet close to your heart.

"Henshin-a-go-go baby!"

This game is fantastic, such a breath of fresh air from the usual stuff that's being fed to us ever since video games went 'main stream.'

The game offers a great cel-shading look to it that you would expect of a Japanese cartoon and adds to the atmosphere of the game. One of the first things I thought when I played the game was how much it looked like a comic book style and the entire game is very vivid and unique. Unlike most games these days, this is pure 2D beat-em' up goodness done right.

You play as Joe, who gets sucked into 'movie-land' where he must save his girlfriend Silvia. But before he can, he learns how to use his 'hero' powers to transform himself into Viewtiful Joe! Gaining powers such as "Slow", "Mach Speed", and "Zoom", Joe must learn to use his new abilities to overthrow the evil Jadow and rescue MovieLand!

From the makers of Devil May Cry comes a new action hit that's a must have for any gamer who's looking for a challenge!

Viewtiful Joe is by far one of the best games for Nintendo Gamecube. The Graphics are amazing, I am also a sucker for sidescrollers. The storyline is simple, yet great. I really am looking forward to October 7th when the game is finally released. I bought the Gamecube demo disc and play the same Viewtiful level at least once a day.

A must buy!!!

Oh man! This game is one of the best I have played! I love this game. I played the demo and I played it over and over. I don't have a Gamecube, but when this game finally comes out I will get one that's for sure. If you play games you must try this game!
