GO Sonic

In this game you can play as good or evil. In good mode you switch being Sonic tails and knuckles. When your sonic you battle evil robots and race to the finish. When tails you walk in a machine beat bad guys and get to the finish in one piece. When Knuckles you try to find three pieces of the master emerald. To get the pieces of the master emerald you have to dig, bounce, look, find and much more. In Chao land (Chao's are cute little animals) you can pet Chaos, raise them, feed them, race them, have adventures with them, go to Chao Kindergarten, do Chao karate and more. There's even more fun when in evil mode when you are Shadow, Robotnik, and Rouge.

Great Game!!!

This game has a little bit for everyone. Those who enjoy treasure hunting will love the Rouge/Knuckles games, while those who like to shoot things up and dodge obstacles will enjoy playing Tails/Dr. Eggman. Like to race? No problem because Sonic/Shadow is a plast to play!

If none of this is quiet for you and you like quieter games then give your friends a blast on the technical stuff and just play in Chao world! This little oasis makes a perfect break time and the games set up of race-hunt-shoot assures that you won't get bored quickly. Also iff you don't enjoy Chao World, then just ignore it and don't get the key!

Another feature is that you can switch from Story mode into the map mode (forgive me if I can't recall what its called at this moment) and, if your at level 10 in Story mode, then you can go to any level below that and replay it! Want to race that Limosine again? Then just switch back and presto! one of the better Tails racing games.

Of course if you like a bit more competition you can always fight your best friend on 2player, doing whatever you wish: hunt, shoot, or race!

I give the fun a five because, well, it is, but overall the game is at max a four. This is mostly due to the camera angle for it can mess you up quiet a bit and you have no control over how your seeing your character. In the end I highly recommend this game and plan on buying it myself in the future (much to my friends relief I'm sure ^^)

the best game Sonic Team, SEGA and the vide game industry ever has produced. This game has everything. An excellent saving the world story. Good variation of:
-Characters
-Landscapes
-Music
-movements; both running, flying, driving cars, grinding, shooting
And of course there is a multiplayer option. If you liked the earlier versions of Sonic, then you gonna love this even more. A tough challenge for upcoming Wii, PS3 and XBOX 360 sonic games to beat this masterpiece.

I LIKE This! :-)

This was my second Sonic game. And I must say, I LOVE it! I don't care what anyone says. I see other points of veiw, but to me, this game is just fun. First, we've got our usual characters, as well as some new ones: Sonic, the superfast hedgehog. Tails, the multi-tailed genius fox. Knuckles, the echidna who guards the Master Emerald. They make up the "good side". Then theirs Eggman/Dr. Robotnik, Sonic's enemy, who has an I.Q. of 300. Rouge, a bat who loves jewels (>:K) And Shadow, a hedgehog who looks like Sonic.

GAMEPLAY: 4.0/5.0
The above characters make up the two sides you have a choice of playing: Hero Side and Dark Side. They're both the same basic story, but with different points of view, and different characters. I like this, and it can work for two people wanting to play. You just have to do it at different times.
Sonic and Shadow's levels are pretty similar, running through levels at top speed, gather rings. These levels are fun, and vary in design and scenery. Excellent. Tails and Eggman's levels have you just sit in a big robot and shoot stuff. It can get kinda annoying, but it's still fun in a way. However, I didn't like how they didn't have Tails fly around. Knuckles and Rouge's levels were another story. They're scavanger hunt type and you have to search for emerald pieces. They're my LEAST favorite. They get boring, and can take 20 minutes (sometimes) to finish.

STORY: ?/5.0
I'm not sure how to rate it. The story, in my opinion, was good. For those who disagree, this doesn't make me stupid or unimaginative because I have a different story preferance. Shadow's story was interesting enough, and it's all pretty OK. But there's not much of it. It's no masterpiece, but theres just enough story for it to work. More that 3 points.

SOUND: 4.5/5.0
I personally LOVE the music. I like the game's main theme song, the music for Sonic's, Shadow's, some of Rouge's, and some of Tail's levels, as well as the character themes. (except Amy and Eggman...) Sonic/Shadow with the rock-type music, Tails with it's upbeat-ness (what I can remember) Rouge with the unique, vaguely jazzy "la la la" type stuff...Overall, the music is great--with one exception.
Knuckles.
Oh, man. What were they thinking?! All sorts of genres for Knux and they pick...Rap. Rap music. And it's AWFUL! I got a headache from listening to "Aquatic Mine" and I'm not even kidding. It hurt! Terrible, terrible.
As for the voice acting, I've heard some bashes against it. I sort of liked it. They could have done a better job, but it wasn't horrible. All the voice actors are good. Especially Tails, before they replaced his VA with a girl. *shudder* Oh Tails, what happened?!

GRAPHICS: 4.5/5.0
I don't know much about graphics, but it looked pretty nice. Sometimes the lips don't match up, but at least Sonic's face isn't trying to come off. It's all good.

OVERALL: 5.0/5.0
You know the rest. A likeable game in my eyes, and hopefully others, too. If you're still unsure rent. Another cool feature to the game is the Chao Garden--Even when you're done, the Chao keep you entertained. Their so much to do with them!
That about wraps up my review here. Great game! Newcomers and longtime fans should enjoy it! (with a few exceptions, but whatever)

I had bought the Japanese version but it has a multi-lingual feature, you could switch between Japanese/English/French and Spanish. Game is addictive, music is bouncy and the graphics are something else. You could also connect your Gameboy Advance to your Gamecube.

For Those who Have Never Played a Sonic Game.

Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are DEFINATELY some of the best video game characters of all time. And now they're with Mario and Luigi!! But I know some of you have never played a Sonic game before because you didn't have enough money to get a Sega Console AND a Nintendo console. Well, probably you watched the TV shows and/or comic books and/or movie. Well, the real Sonic story is extreamly different than the story in those things. Sonic doesn't live on "Mobius" or "The Land of the Sky." I'm pretty sure he lives on Earth. He doesn't have a group called "The Freedom Fighters." And he doesn't have any brothers or sisters.

Next is their personalities. Sonic has the same personality from all the TV shows and stuff and the same goes for Tails (except on the Disney TV show). But Knuckles is a different story entirely. Knuckles is NOT Sonic's best friend. They ARE uneasy friends, though (Sonic still has a grudge from Sonic 3 and Knuckles still doesn't entirely trust Sonic, although that may change in this game). Knuckles is not a treasure hunter, the only way I can think the people who made the Movie came to THAT conclusion was because Knuckles fought Dr. Robotnic after he stole the huge emerald in Sonic 3. Actually that emerald is the Master Emerald which contains Chaos, a water monster who grows in power as he collects the Chaos Emeralds and who tried to destroy the world 2 times (the 2nd time was stopped by Super Sonic).

Last is Dr. Robotnic. Dr. Robotnic's nick name is not Robuttnic, it's Dr. Eggman. He is not a robot himself. And there are no Swat Bots.

Knowing this get this game, Sonic fans of the near future!

A gorgeous addition to the Sonic collection

I have played almost all of the Sonic games, and I thought I was happy then. But when this came, I was ecstatic! I never would have imagined Sonic on a Nintendo platform, but he seems to fit right in to the collection.

There are two different modes you can play in- 1P and 2P. From there, you can go to other places. In 1P, you can play the Hero story or the Dark story, depending on your preference. Each story has its own collection of cut scenes (which are hilarious, by the way) and more than 20 detailed, vivid levels. In the Hero story, you can play as Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles (big surprise). But in the Dark story, you can play as Shadow, Dr. Eggman (Robotnik), or Rouge. Shadow and Rouge are new to the series. (Oh yeah, and if you beat both stories, something cool will happen, but I won't tell you what! You gotta find out for yourself!)

In 2P mode, you can play as 12 different characters, depending on which level you choose. There are three levels you can play when you start the game: racing, treasure hunting, and shooting. In racing, you can be Sonic, Shadow, Metal Sonic, and Amy Rose. In treasure hunting, you can be Knuckles, Rouge, Tikal, and Chaos Zero. In shooting, you can be Chao walker, Dark Chao Walker, Dr. Eggman, and Tails. Then there are other levels that you have to unlock.

The Chao world is one of my favorite places to go. I have two Chaos, and they are both doing very well. Chaos are little creatures that you take care of and raise into adult Chaos. They are adorable! The items are very unique, too!

There were a few bad things about it, but not bad enough to lower the rating. The BGM is very good, but just too loud in the cut scenes! Sometimes, you couldn't hear the character or could just barely hear them. The other thing was the camera angles. When you press the L or R button, sure it changes the angle, but it just goes back to the angle it was at before once you move. If I could have changed one thing, I would have added Amy Rose as one of the main playable characters. Sure, she's seen in the Hero and Dark stories, but I just wish you could actually be her in the levels. Why not? It wouldn't damage the storyline at all. And why did they change Dr. Robotnik's name? Oh well. It's a good game anyway, even with these little flaws.

Overall, I recommend you buy this game. It's every Sonic fan's dream come true!

I've been a huge fan of sonic ever since i played it on my grandmothers ancient Genesis (it was genesis, right?) once we got a dreamcast, we immediatly got SA1 and sonic shuffle (biiiig mistake). after beating SA1, i started incessently playing this game and rented it practically evry week. now that we own it, i still haven't beaten it, but i'm trying. overall, though, this is one of the best games of all of the sonic games i've played, although sonic heroes may give it a run for it's money.

Pros:
-brings back your favorite sonic characters, and some new ones
-shadow/sonic levels are extremely fun
-graphics look great
-music is wonderful
-(japanese) voice acting is done well
-it presents a challenge, although not an extremely frustrating one
-fun overall

Cons:
-not enough Shadow!
-crazy gadget/security hall can be frustrating if you don't know how to beat them.
-music during the battle with biolizard makes you think Shadow is high ;) (joking)
-camera angles still extremely annoying
-tails, sadly is just getting annoying (yes I know I've said that word too mny times)
-some parts might leave you thinking "why a hedgehog?"

as you can see, the pros outweight the cons, but rent the game first and see if you like it

another great performance

Nintendo have done it again. They have taken full advantage of another developers crises. It isn't even a bad thing because Nintendo win because Sega can make games for them and Sega win because they have somewhere to work. This game blends sleek visuals with aresome gameplay to create a truley magnificant game. Nintendo have got many powerful allies and they can now add Sega to the list. If this is just a first generation game then think of what the future games will be like. Just like on any console I think they will keep getting better. The only exception to this was Shingeru miyamoto's brilliant Super Mario 64 but that was just a freak, no offence Shigsy.
