Sonic and Shadow=Fun Everyone Else=Not Fun

SA2B is moderately fun. However, only a bit of it is. The Sonic and Shadow levels are extremely fun. Run through levels at fast speeds, killing enemies and collecting rings as you go. That is incredibly fun. So let's say you're in story mode and you just beat Sonic's first level. You're thinking:Wow! This game is the best! The next level you use Knuckles. You're thinking:Wow! This is so hard and boring. The next level you use Tails. You're thinking:I've always loved using Tails' flying ability! Then you see him in a crappy robot. His levels: Hold B. Rotate the analog stick once to lock on to the enemies. Release B and fire. Fun? No. Knuckles' levels are just trying to find emeralds (by the way, when he digs, for some reason they used his Japanese voice) and Tails' levels are just running around shooting things in a robot (if it sounds fun, trust me, it's not). This game also says: play as 6 different characters. That's partly true. The characters are different. But it's really just 3 characters on different sides: Hero and Dark. But, at least it's only $30. This game has an excellent story and some excellent music. I give it 3 stars!

Impossible to hate everything about the game.

Its impossible to hate the entire game because it has elements of gameplay that everybody will like. The game has shooting, racing, and treasure hunting levels. You're bound to enjoy at least one of those styles of gameplay.

Ultimate Sonic Game

SA2B is the ultimate Sonic game! Explore the mystery of what happened 50 years ago on the Space Colony Ark, find the pieces of the Master Emerald, choose to be good or evil, watch Chao in the Chao World mode, and listen to each level's unique songs! So much can be done on this game! Each level has it's own unique song, I prefer the one from City Escape. The Chao World mode lets you interact with your Chao more than ever, and unlocks more gardens once a Chao has evolved (EX: Hero Chao=Hero Garden). Once the entire good story and entire dark story is completed, you can finish the game in the ultimate Final Story. Work together a Tails, Eggman, Rouge, Knuckles, and Sonic to reach Space Colony Ark's core, fight the Bio-Lisard, the Proto Type of the Ultimate Lifeform as Shadow, then stop the Ark from crashing into the Earth as Super Sonic and Hyper Shadow! Overall 5 stars, 10/10

One of GameCube's best Sonic games ever!

This game ROCKS!!! My brother and I have played it sooo many times, over and over! This game can be VERY challenging, especially the timed missions (the 4th missions), so I suggest you buy the Action Relay MAX for GameCube from CodeJunkis. This game also has a few glitches in it, but don't bother them. The Chao are sooo cute, especially when they sing in the Chao Kindergarten. And the Chao races can be hard, but not as hard as the origional gaming mode. I rather buy the Action Replay MAX for GameCube first, then buy this great game, so you don't get too frustrated!

I for a 2 month period loved Chao,Sonic and friends. The 2 player mode is awesome. Eventually, I was sick of cute chaos,shadow and Sonic. Now I feel like it was a waste of money. It's sitting on my shelf all dusty. Rent it for a while and then you will be sick of it. I recomend Sonic Mega Collection by far over this game.

More fun than a human being should be allowed to have!

Our speedy blue hedgehog hero's Nintendo debut has gotten some pretty lackluster reviews on the `net, and one game critic on TV only gave it a 4.5 out of 10! I (along with a million or so other Sonic fans) couldn't disagree more. I contend that "Sonic Adventure 2: Battle" is one of the greatest video games ever created. I just CANNOT stop playing this game! It is true that the camera angles are troublesome -- occasionally blocking your view completely -- but that is the only flaw in an otherwise perfect presentation. SA2:B features splendid graphics, a rockin' soundtrack (buy the official soundtrack CD here at Amazon.com), entertaining animated sequences, an engaging story, and a TON of variety. You can play through both the HERO side's story and the DARK side's story -- so you're essentially getting TWO games for the price of one. You play as six different characters: explore exotic environments with Knuckles the echidna and Rouge the bat...blast your way through military bases aboard the powerful mechs of Tails the two-tailed fox and the diabolical Dr. Eggman/Robotnik...and zip through busy streets, over ramps, and through dizzying hoops at insane speeds with the legendary Sonic and his look-alike nemesis, Shadow. When you complete a level, you get a letter grade based on how many golden rings you collected and how many enemies you destroyed. If you get a bad grade the first time, you can always go back and try the level again. You can also collect small animals along the way to help you raise your Chao. What's a Chao? I'm still not exactly sure; but Chao raising, Chao racing, and Chao battling are all included on this amazing little GameCube disc. And if you own a Game Boy Advance, you can even download your Chao and take them on the road with you! Sonic Adventure 2 is all this and a whole lot MORE! You just have to love it! I give it a 9.5 out of 10.

Okay,I gotta admit,this game is great. The music,graphics,gameplay,everything is great. The chao mode is really cool as well. What's really neat is that you can play as Sonic (of course),tails,knuckles,shadow,rouge and even Dr. Eggman! If you are doing 2 player,you cam play as even more characters. Now people were annoyed by doing one character 33.33% of the time. Sega found out and made Sonic Heroes. That game is not well made. You play as all three,but it still is'nt fun. I'd reccomend Sonic Adventure 2 Battle more then Sonic Hereoes. Buy it!

Bored Stiff!

I saw all the rave reviews, so I decided to pick this one up. Talk about a dissapointment. 75% of the time you follow a set path which can mostly be traversed by simply holding up on the control stick. If you want to blow stuff up...well...ok, but you don't really need to half the time. The levels which have a greater degree of freedom have no order, so you basically wander around until your crystal indicator starts beeping. I'm bored of the game already. When are the real games going to start comming out for the GameCube?

this game is fun but it makes your thumb hurt very much if u know you are a game addict please do not play this game i played it and it took me 3 weeks to beat it and imagine that i beat luigis mansion in 4 days so u know this game is hard plus u need a cup of cold and hot water to keep dipping ur finger in...Tales is the best..And the chaos

Sonic finally on Nintendo

This is a historic event-a sonic game on a nintendo system! I remember the old days, when nintendo and sega were rivals. Now I'm just glad to be able to have a new sonic game on the best system ever (or so far). I gave this five stars also because Shadow rules. Go NINTENDO!
