firstly, let me state that my actual rating for this is 4.5 out of 5 stars. let me also state that i have played(and beaten completely) the original dreamcast version of the game. now, many are asking themselves the question: is it worth it to buy this game if i have the dreamcast version? the answer is the following: it depends. if you're the type of person who likes multiplayer games as well as single, then this game is a major step up. the battle modes, while not up to the level that is super smash bros melee, is worth in itself several hours of entertainment, and a vast improvement on the original. however, if you're looking for some drastic changes from the dreamcast version in terms of the single player mode, then you're going to be dissapointed. true, i'm only halfway through the single-payer mode at this point(in other words, i'm not even through both storylines yet, let alone the joint storyline that comes later), but there is little difference between the two. the camera angles can be just as annoying as before, the voice-acting still buggy at times, and there really aren't any new levels that i know of yet. the chao garden is amped nicely(u can view the stats of your chao anytime, and no more accidentally hitting them when trying to pet or feed them!!!), and the chao minigame for gameboy advance actually no longer grates on your nerves. the graphics are tweaked only slightly, as is the music in some cases. still, the first-player is just as fun as ever(aside from those damned emerald-hunting stages), and if you don't mind playing the same game twice, it's worth your money. as for those of you who have not played the original: there is no reason i can see why you shouldn't buy this game. it is the best platform currently available on the cube, and it's the first mixture of two rival dynasties. it's worth it for the historical value alone.^_^

Another great Sonic titles with the same old issues.

Sonic games are now and have always been great, and I'm glad to have them on the cube. I just wish the Sonic team would resolve the same old camera issues. At times the camera angle is horrible. But the game is still a ton of fun, definately on my list of games every cube owner should get.

FUN

This game is a great game and you should give it a try. You go through many stages, like city escape for example. You can play as a hero like Sonic and a bad guy like Shadow. After you beat the story mode stages you will still have 4 more missions too complete on each stage. During the game you will raise playfull creatures called chao. They can compete in races and karate. 2 player mode is fun too. You need a memory card to play this game. If you are not sure if it's the game for you try renting it.

Fast-Paced Fun...

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle for gamecube is great. It's fun, but let me get on to the reviewing part:

Good Things:
-Good graphics
-Fun to play
-Not a game you win to 5-10 hours
-Play as Dark and Hero sides.
-Has a secret suprise when you win Hero and Dark
-Fun raising Chao
-Has a GBA cable feature

Bad Things:
-Music sometimes is annoying, depending on which level you're on.
-Scenes can get corny, sometimes
-Chao are sometimes hard to raise.
-Controls can get hard sometimes

That's the end of my review. I suggest you buy it, becuase it's fun and you'd win it in 2-3 days. Unlike Luigi's Mansion(Fun but easy game) or Universal Studios.

Depends How You Look At It.

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is in no way a bad game. It has awesome graphics, an amazingly well done soundtrack, exactly what you would expect from the Sonic Team.

As far as the Gamecube goes, it's the best game out right now, second only to SSB: Melee. But, in comparison to Sonic for the Dreamcast, which I consider the best Sonic to date, it's far inferior. My main qualm with it is that there is a lack on freedom to roam around. Sonic for the DC had a much better implemented way of having "levels" where there were areas that were just run, run, run, and times where you could take your time walking about, enjoying the scenery. Another concern was the control. The buttons are excellent, no complaining here, but it's ill suited for the gamecube's analog controller, so alot of the time you'll find yourself getting annoyed when you suddenly end up stopping when you don't want to stop, or running smack into an enemy.

Still, I'm not one to complain much, I think it was defintely worth the money, and the next installment would only need a bit of tweaking.

FUN FUN FUN!!!!!!!

I say that this game is great! Its graphics aren't so round, but rather that that it's great! Lots of fun for everyone. But... I do believe it should be more violent. A great 3-D High-Speed Action Game for almost anyone! Lots of secrets, like on thing there's a kart race that you have to get. And Chaos, the most adorable pets in the universe! And there's no saving needed! It saves by itself so i definetly reccomend you buying this. As long as your 7 and older! But there are a few cons. Like the Knuckles and rouge's levels, they should be more exciting. All the do is find Master Emeralds. And there are a few misspellings in the game.
So, that's all I have to say! Because I'm done with this game! Visit http://communities.msn.com/shadowsdomain

A wonderful game with a great story. It is very challenging to get A ranks on the levels compared to the dreamcast I probably have only 10 but it's fun to try. The game is very short you can finish in probably a little under a week but trying to get all 180 emblems is a challenge. The knuckles and Rouge levels drag on forever you can speed them up a little if you can find the sunglasses for knuckels in knuckles last level but i dont know if you can do that for rouge. make sure you beat both hero and dark because there is another story where they team up. you'll need to because if you don't you'll fell pretty confused about the story. if you can collect all 180 emblems which means you must get A rank on every single mission you get a 3-D version of Emerald hill zone the first level of the first sonic game. This game is worth the buy just don't belive the rumors of a super mega ultimate chao that are on some sonic websites.

A story of love, hatred, betrayal, mystery, and action. The next WB movie? No, even better: Sonic adventure 2: Battle. In SA2:BSB, you'll play as Sonic, Tails & Knuckles (Hero side), or Dr. Eggman and newcomers Shadow the Hedgehog & Rouge the Bat. I'm going to give you sneaky story previews right now:

*HERO SIDE STORY*

Sonic has been framed for stealing none other than the Chaos Emerald! The military team G.U.N. won't believe him though, and Sonic is captured and taken to Prison Island. Tails and Amy come to rescue him, though, but before he leaves, he battles a strange black hedgehog. Who is he, and what does he want with -- the Chaos Emerald?

*DARK SIDE STORY*
Eggman has received traces of a project called Project Shadow, an attempt to create the World's Ultimate Lifeform, a.k.a. Shadow. Eggman finds Shadow, and sets him free of his 50-year prison in an attempt to take over the world. THey team up with the sneaky Rouge the Bat. But what is Shadow's past, and true purpose?

You didn't really think I'd give you the rest, did you? Nope! You'll have to play it yourself to find out what happens. I'll give you a hint though: Both sides will join forces in the final battle against evil! Nothing more.

P.S. I heard the original SA for Dreamcast had a much better storyline. How Sonic Team could cook up a plot better than this one is beyond me.....

One of the best games on the market!

Sonic is finally on GameCube! This game's addictiveness level is very, very, very high. The fact that it's 4 different catagories makes it better. Here are the catagories. 1: Sonic/Shadow Action levels. Run through ring-filled levels, avoiding traps. 2: Tails/Eggman Shooter levels. Run through enemy-infested worlds, blowing up junk. 3: Knuckles/Rouge Treasure Hunt levels. Run through large worlds, finding keys or Master Emerald Shards. 4: Chao Virtual Pet World. Raise cute, little babies, feeding them, petting them, mating them (yuk!), and taking them to Kindergarten. The 2-Player mode adds even more fun to the game. The most fun levels I've played would have to be Iron Gate (Eggman), Dry Lagoon (Rouge), and Chao World (All).
