Another great Sonic game brought to a Nintendo system

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is a great re-make of Sonic Adventure 2 for the Dreamcast. If you have ever played the Dreamcast version of this game, you know what this game is all about.

Sonic is mistaken for an evil Hedgehog named Shadow who has been spreading danger across the world. The military and all police units are after Sonic and you need to escape Sonic from them and avoid them in many of the levels.

There are many fun modes you can play in: Story Mode, Kart Mode and Chao Raising Mode. Story mode is the main game. You can choose to play as the Hero's (Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles) or the Dark villains (Shadow, Rogue and Dr. Robotnik).

Kart mode is just like Mario Kart games for the Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64. You unlock Kart racing after you complete the first 9 stages. You can play in one player or two player and race as Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Shadow, Rouge, or Dr. Robonik in 3 different courses.

Raising a Chao can be frustrating sometimes, but it is also fun. You teach your Chao to do new things while being nice to it, but trying not to spoil it. This mode gets old after a while though.

The levels in this game are amazing. Each level includes different missions that get more challenging as you get deeper in to the game. The graphics are very realistic and when the spins and jumps Sonic does look very smooth. The gameplay is a lot better than Sonic Adventure.

Sonic also has new abilities to grind on rails, and swing form vines and bars. And there is also a newer helper Chao named OmoChao who gives you hints in each level.

Sonic Adventure 2 is loaded with secrets to unlock. If you get All 'A' rankings in each of the levels many great secrets are unlocked. Also, getting all 180 emblems is very rewarding. There are many other secrets to unlock as well.

There is also an all-new 2 player mode on this game and there are many new characters and environments for the GameCube.

There are only two minor flaws in this game. The camera angles don't always show the direction you want to see and you can't play just as one character like you could in SA1 (on the DC).

Overall this is my favorite Sonic game ever made and a great game for any Sonic fan who has a GameCube. This is probably one of this best games available for the GameCube.

SONIC RULES THE HOUSE!!!!! almost

Sonic 2 is one of my favorite games. It was the first sonic game i've played, so I don't know if fans of Sonic are really going to need this game. I think the characters are awesome, (1P:Sonic, Shadow, Tails, Dr.Eggman, Knuckles, and Rouge. 2P: Amy Rose, Metal sonic, Chao Walker, Dark Chao Walker, Tikal, Chaos Zero, and the aditional 1P characters) and I LOVE CHAO!!!!! And if you treat your Chao a certain way it will mature into a certain type of Choa (secret) out of 2 types. And after a Chao has matered a new Chao Garden will apear. Their are 2 types of gardens (secret) besides the first one you get from getting a Chao Key in 1P mode And The cool things about this game is the story modes. Their are 2 stories, the Hero and the Dark. Their is much more than I wrote but my parents are making me get off the computer, my idvice rent this game and if you like it buy it.

Good Game Missing One Thing

Sonic Adventure 2 was an awesome game, and I'm undoubtively glad I bought it. Levels are fast pace, the graphics kick-ass, and the Chao gardens are the most brilliant thing ever thought of. I was absolutely disappointed with the fact that Amy Rose, my favorite character, didn't have any levels though. That's one thing that could have been changed. Well...and maybe Tails' and Robotnik's levels...they were a tad annoying.

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, a worthy purchase

If you walked up to a Sonic Fan 11 years ago, when Sonic first came out, said you were from the future, and told them that a Sonic game would be on a Nintendo console, they would laugh you out of the room. 10 years later, in 2002, the prophecy game true. Sega has become third party, and a Sonic game did appear on a Nintendo console. Sonic Adventure 2: Battle is a port from the smash hit on the Sega Dreamcast. This game is a blistering hot game that you won't see for a while.

I'm not going to bother you with the story of Sonic Adventure 2, because you most likely know it. Dr. Robonotic, also known as Eggman, is trying to follow in his grandfather's footsteps, and finish creating the ultimate device for taking over the world; Shadow. Shadow stole information from the government, and the government mistakes Sonic for Shadow, and Sonic goes to jail. In this game, you want to find Shadow, and set the record straight.

In every game, there are it's flaws, and this game has them. This game runs at a blistering fast 60 frames per second (fps) and that is just about as fast as the go today. There are very few hiccups when it drops to 30 for about a second or two, but it kicks back to 60. In this game, just like the Dreamcast version, the camera is a little unruly, and sometimes it goes out of control, making it hard to complete your task. That only happens in a few levels so there is nothing to worry about. This game will make you come back for hours. I have over 50 hours in my game, and I'm still playing it. There is an extremely addictive Chao world mode, that lets you raise a Chao, these cute little blue things. It will remind you of the ill-fated Tamagotchi things. But these are so much better. Chao's grow according to foods you give them. They have certain statistics that need to be trained. Their power, swimming, flying, stamina and running. Giving them their favorite foods, and Chao drives that you find in the levels (those little colored capsules). This may attract you for hours. ... In Sonic Adventure 2, the game lets you bring your Chao on the run. You need to have Sonic Advance to carry it around with you. You can also play without a cartridge. The Gamecube will save some information on the Gameboy Advance's RAM and you can still do the same things you can do with the game, but you cannot save your data, until you transfer it back to your Gamecube. Don't worry, you cannot lose you Chao, it will be saved on your Gamecube, but the information of your Chao will be in the GBA.

As in the adventure part of the game, the story is tied in with six different characters, classified by being heroes or dark. The game is based on Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Rouge the Bat, and Dr. Robotnik. The game has 30 different action levels, and 150 different missions within the levels. This will take you a long time, if you want to collect all the 180 emblems. A little inside secret, if you collect 180 emblems, there is a secret level, so start collecting! I'm not going to spoil it for you. If you have the Dreamcast version, you are going to miss out on the excellent multiplayer modes. There are even more games than the Dreamcast. If you also have the Dreamcast, and the modem you can go to a website, and download a complete file, and check out the level. Have a good time playing Sonic!

Sonic takes Gamecube by force!

When I first heard that good ol' Sonic was comin' to Cube, I just couldn't wait, and although I don't own the game, yet, I rented it for 2 days and lets me tell you, I needed A LOT longer! The single player experience is head-spinning edge-of-your-seat excitement that lasts for a good while in two modes: Hero and Evil. The multiplayer is emense; with treasure hunts, races, battles, kart races and Chao stuff, you'll be occupied with your friends for a while. The graphics are nothing less than Gamecube style; extremely attractive, yet simply beautiful. This is a FOR SURE rent, and a very good buy. While it is not pure classic Sonic, it is the next generation of the Supersonic blue hedgehog!

I bought this game with my Gamecube and it is by far one of the best games I have ever played. I love the plot and missions. Bring on Sonic Adventure 3.

OK, I will admit right now that I am a huge Sonic fan and that is why I gave this gave 5 stars. It is great to see Sonic on a Nintendo system, the graphics on this game are beautiful. There is also so much to the game that it almost loses it's Sonic the Hedgehog feel. Basically, what I am saying is that it isn't worth all the hype that it is given. It's really not any better than any other Sonic game. I wish that I had bought the Dreamcast version and saved about 30 dollars because it is identical to this version. However, if you do not own a Dreamcast or you are new to the Sonic series, I would highly recommend this game because I really have had fun with it.

A Perfect Blend Of Gameplay and Level Design

Sonic was always Sega's answere to Nintendo's Mario.Only this time around Mario and Sonic are both on the same consol the Nintendo Gamecube.Sonic games requiring little thinking and lots of speed.

I like this game alot, little kids will enjoy it as it is easy and almost mindless at time so they don't get lost.Adults can enjoy since it's just a simple and fun game. The characters aren't original, but the game is to fun to to give up on it for that. The graphics are and better then many may of thought as it was orignally from the Sega Dreamcast. For each good character there's bassically a baddy to follow it.So if you play as Sonic and choose a Heros path expect the same gameplay as a Dark path with Shadow.Speedy and fun.
Tails and the evil Dr.Robotnick have mechanical robots that you control wich have lazers and hovering abilities. These levels are slower and take a bit more time.I'm sure a kid still get through this no problem.
Knuckles and Rougue levels are frusrtating and may leave little kids wondering whats thier objective and leaving us adults furiated looking for little gems.YOu use little signals like hot and cold to navigate through a small set themed world for little crystal like structures.

Another giant featrure is the ability to raise a little creature (a Chao)and nurture it to become big and strong and good or evil. You can decide depending on how and who you nurtured it by.You can do little races and areana battles and so on.You can even connect a Gome Boy Advance up to add more fun.

In the music department it sounds alot like boy band rock, cheasy rap,and the Offspring on a bad day.

A top notch game Sega did a really good job at this title and i would reccamend this as a must have purchase as it is very cheap at the moment.(also kinda hard to find offline)

Addictive, fast, replayable game

This game is very, very, very fast. It features a hero story and a dark story. This is the first game I played where you could play as the bad guy. The graphics in my opinion are extremely good, there was no level fog but there was object fog (That's when you can't see an object until you come within a ceartian distance of it). This game features a " Chao garden" where you can raise these creatures called chao's, then you can enter them in events against the computer or your freinds. The game features many multi-payer options like kart-racing, treasure hunt, and the classic "get to the finish first" scenarios.
This game is excellent, addictive, and a grea thing to have when your freinds ring the door bell. It received an E from ESRB and has warnings for "Suggestive lyrics", and "comic mishief". This game earned the 5 stars.

A Sonicboom of a great game!

This game really exceeded my expectations. You get high speed action, adventurous treasure hunting, and projectile battle all in classic sonic style. The graphics really bring out the great potential of the gamecube. Plus the chao garden and the abilty to connect with GBA make for great replay value. This game has everything you need and if you have a gamecube this is a definent must have.
