The best Sonic game of all time

For anyone who wants to play or has played SA2:

Out of the gate, you can play as the Heroes, (Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails,) or the villans, (Dr. Eggman, Shadow, and Rouge.) If you complete the 16 Hero stages and 14 Dark stages, you will unlock the 31st stage and 2 extra bosses. Besides the Story mode, there are the modes Stage Select, Kart Race and Boss Attack.

The 2P battle mode is simply awesome! It is a huge improvement over SA2. If you complete both stories, you and a friend can battle it out in 24 shorter stages plus 6 bonuses as 12 different characters like Metal Sonic, Chaos Zero, Tikal, Amy Rose and mechwalkers piloted by the appropriate Chao. You can also Kart Race. If you raised a Chao, you can also challenge a friend to a Chao Race or exclusive Chao Karate.

Speaking of Chao, (Chow-oh) you can raise a hero, dark, or neutral Chao. If you raise a hero or dark Chao, exclusive Hero or Dark Gardens will appear. Also exclusive to the game is the Black Market. You can buy 7 different types of fruits, 6 types of seeds, masks and other acsessories. There are app. 20 different small animals hidden in the action stages or in certain stages, enemies. There are also 4 different colors of Chaos Drives. Your Chao has five attributes: Swim, Run, Power, Fly, and Stamina. Fruits increase its stamina (especially Chao Fruits which add on to everything), while the Drives increase a certain attribute depending on the color, and the animals increase or decrease or do both of the first 4 attributes.

The game has unlockable Karts and Costumes once you get all of a characters emblems. The hidden stage, the Green Hill Zone is in 3-d, (Sonic veterans since Genesis know it was 2-d) and to unlock it, you must collect all 180 emblems.

Last but not least, if you have Sonic Advance, you can use a special link to connect the GBA to the GC to transport your Chao to the Tiny Chao Garden in the Game Boy Advance!

This game is so freaken fun, its got everything 2 different story modes with new kind of weapons or moves you can get, great graphics,2 player games,u get to train up little chaos and race or fight with them, and the movies they have during the story mode levels are sweet. Out of the 4 games(pikmin,super smash bro. melee,luigi's mansion,and sonic 2) I got, this is my 2nd favorite, #1 is pikmin cause I just plain love this game. So yes I recommend this game to everyone even those people who just play sports games. The only downfall is the cheap camera angles thats what I hate about it thats why i brought it down to 4 stars but everything else about is awesome. And I think its great that nintendo and sega are allies if they just had squaresoft they would be perfect.

Listen even if your not a Sonic fan you will still love this game!I basically like the chao part but it's still fun!This is my favorite Sonic game so far!So you should buy it right now!!! P.S get of the computer right now.Go to your Mom/Dad and BEG them to get you this game! You'll LOVE it!!!!

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle can be described in only one word: intriguing. The game has so many levels/functions/games all in one. You can even play the game for the evil side or for the good side, which I think is a brand new idea and is genious. The game provides non-stop fun and excitment which is sure to last you forever! I purchased the game yesterday, and it is surely worth every penny. I hope you enjoy this game as much as I did. Compared to so Pikmin and Super Smash Brothers, this game is just as good if not better!...

In SA2:B, you can play as the good guys: Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. Or the bad guys: Robotnik (AKA, Eggman), Shadow, and Rouge. There are three types of levels for each side. You can play through a traditional Sonic-type level(with springs and flippers and stuff) as Sonic or Shadow. A shooter level as Tails or Robotnik in their mech walkers. You can go digging for treasure as Knuckles or Rouge. In the Hero and Dark sides there is a levels where you control a car. As Tails you chase the president, as Rouge you chase Tails's plane. Once you complete both sides you get a final "Last? Stage" where all sides work together to stop a space colony from falling to Earth. In the final level you can play as Super Sonic and Super Shadow to destroy a monster from taking the space colony to Earth. This game has great graphics. It even has some cinema scenes between levels. I don't have a second controller yet and I don't have the GBA link cable yet either so I can't do some of the special features like battle and Chao transporter.

Not a bad game for once!

I have read some of the reviews for this game... Someone complained about the voices (which aren't really that bad). The game is a typical sonic game, lots of action and speed. It focuses on three major stages: Fast and action paced(Sonic/Shadow), Shooter(Tails/Eggman), and treasure hunting --These levels have kind of a love/hate thing--(Knuckles/Rouge). It also has emblems which you collect through the 31 stages (5 missions a stage) and minigames. if you collect all the emblems for a character you unlock a second car for the kart race minigame. if you get all rank A on the missions for that character (which takes a long time) you unlock a second costume for battle mode. If you collect all 180 emblems you will unlock the GREEN HILL ZONE HIDDEN STAGE. This was sonics first stage ever, but it's rendered in 3-D. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is the camera. The camera bites. much. you can rotate the camera, but in certain instances you are not allowed and sometimes the camera get stuck in or behind the wall and you can't rotate it. Overall it is an excellent action/adventure game. Oh yeah! THE MUSIC FOR THIS GAME ROCKS!

This game is absolutly great for those who have been waiting eagarly for the blue blur to appear again and is not a dispointment.this game lets you choose which side you want to support, hero or dark (i finished dark side story first, and in my opinion it is more interesting).of course, on hero side there is the well-known hero and do-gooder Sonic the hedgehog,his sidekick and buddy Miles "Tails" Prower the two-tailed fox and mechinical whiz kid, and Knuckles the Echidna...the expert treasue hunter, guardian of the master emerald, and martial artist(Amy Rose, the pink girly-girl hedgehog with a crush on sonic, is on the hero side but you cannot play as her)the Dark side, (haha...'Beware the Dark Side of the Force') however, consists of the everpresent vilian Dr. Eggman (a.k.a Dr.Robotnik), the untrustworthy lady treasure hunter Rouge the bat, and the mysterious black hedgehog Shadow who is Sonics match in speed, ablities and claims himself to be the ultimate life-form.
Now that you met the charaters, here's what i think of the game: it's amazing. the graphics are gamecube ones, enough said. so what if it looks like a cartoon, it still has great graphics, espcially compared to some of the games that are coming out (like the incredibly disapointing Legend of Zelda graphics). the stages are pretty good. Shadow and Sonics levels give you a rush. it is totally cool to run straight down a building, then have to outrun a semi truck. Knuckles and Rouge's levels are treasure hunting ones and can be incredibly frustrationg,but they can be done. Dr. Eggman's and Tail's stages are okay, they are kinda medium difficulty. the storyline, in my opinion, is very good. as for the music, Shadow and Sonic's themes capture the attitude of the charater and their stage music is fast-paced. the music for dr. eggman and tail's stages could be better, but it's okay. knuckles stages have rap music, and it does capture his straightforward attitude, and rouge's music is so-so. The Chao feature is a good addition. the Chao are so cute that it's disgusting, but i love them anyway.
time for my opinion. I LOVE THIS GAME (NBA....no, wait). My fave char. is Shadow.I give two thumbs up to the person who did his voice. too bad that he....oh, wait..i won't give it away.

anyhow, that's my piece. don't listen to the people who say this game is stupid, and that you should get Halo, or someother game instead. or to the people that call it the 'Lamecube' or something along those lines(incredibly stupid and unoriginal)...they are obviously X-Box fanatics....oh, and to you people who are X-box fans and diss this game and the gamecube: there is a rumor that Japan is not making many X-box games, and you know all the best games come from Japan....you do the math...
ANYWAY, that's the end and i will say no more......except for this........SHADOW RUlES

THIS Game RULES!!! The Only Reason I gave this Game 4 out of 5 is because of its So-So Character Graphics and Compatability. Dont get me wrong I love Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, and yes even that annoying Amy. You are assigned a character to each level, unlike the GBA version where you get to choose. The Plot of the game is split into TWO STORIES, HERO and DARK sides. Both sides are pretty much like each other, but with different characters and levels. It has LONG COMPLEX levels but each are beatable. The 2P version is actually a helper on your skills for the 1P version, like racing and speed, treasure hunting, and yes even full scale armed body machines with advanced weapons. Choas are cute little things that are sort of like Pokemon: you feed them, give them boost ups, love them, and they eventually evolve. But they do die eventually but if you take good care of them, they will be reborn from an egg. This game is definately for the Begginer or Advanced player like I am. But you may want to buy the Guide so you can find all the little animal and chao drives boost ups. Definately for the Sonic Fans out there.

My brother and I rented this game a few years back, and adored it. While at the game store today we bought it again and played it right when we got home. It was just as I remembered! The two player mode is really fun, I think personally, and it's an overall great game. Of course, I've seen better games (but not in this genere) with better graphics (the graphics are STILL really nice, though), but this is somthing really cute. Overall, a nice peice of work that will be fun for, as the rating says, everyone!

I was in the US for three years, for all of that time, ecepte the last couple of months, this game was almost the only one I played. With twelve carecters, and 12 levels 9(they allways say over one hundred fifty missions, wich are fun too, but there allways the same missions on a differant level. But the riesin I kept playing even though I had already beat the game for two years was the chao (little creaturs that you raise) garden, wich they sadly did not put on sonic heros, riders or even shadow the hedgehog, but they did put it on sonic dx.ANYWAY back to sonis adventure 2 battle, the chao garden is fun cause when you destroy a robot, a floating glowing thing appears and when you walk on the glowing thing (which are called robot drives) when you finish the level can feed it to your chaos which will increase their skills and the rings you collect in the level you can use to buy fruits and supplies for your chao. when your chaos have enough skills, you can enter them in contests by walking through this waterfall in the chao garden. the last reason is because when your chaos have at least 100 in a skill, then they might evolve dark or hero type, depending on what fruits you give them.
