Sonic on a Nitendo system? I never thought the day would come.
Anyways, the second in the Sonic Adventure series has been ported to the Gamecube this year, with some improvements. Sega has updated the graphics to look a little bit better than they were on the Dreamcast, and they also put in an updated 2-Player "Battle" mode, hence the title, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle.
Players can choose one of two stories to play on in one player mode; Hero: Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles; Dark: Shadow, Dr. Eggman(or Dr. Robotnik, whichever name you prefer)and Rouge. In Hero mode you are striving to save the world from Dr. Eggman destroying it with the Eclipse Cannnon, and in Dark you are strinving to, well, destroy the world without Sonic being in your way.
Each character's levels play differently. For example, Sonic and Shadow's levels are high-speed action levels, which is the way the games were in the old days of Sonic. These are the most fun levels to play. Tails and Eggman's levels are levels where you go around levels like in the Sonic/Shadow ones, but you are shooting things constantly along the way. I find these levels moderately fun, but it aches me that Tails has to be in that Tornado the whole game, for I think he does his best work alone, without any gadgets. Getting back, the Knuckles and Rouge levels. These are treasure-hunting levels where you look for three pieces of the Master Emerald, which was shattered by Dr. Eggman. These levels aren't very fun and VERY TEDIOUS. I try to stay away from these levels, but you have to play them to get through the game.
Another feature about this game is that you can raise the cute and lovable Chao. You can raise these in the "Chao Garden" and feed them with small animals and Chao Drives that you find in the stages. I don't find much wrong with the Chao or the Chao Gardens. You can use a Gamecube/Gameboy Advance Connector Link to upload Chao fruit, eggs, toys, or even Chao from Sonic Advance, which I have done before. I hope you find the Chao Garden feature nice, as I did.
Don't be fooled, this game has it's drawbacks. For one thing, this game has a very annoying camera which you can rotate, but only at certain times. And to make it even more frustrating, the camera automatically switches to where you are supposed to go, but if you want to discover the other directions, you can't see anything. Another drawback is the Knuckles/Rouge levels, which probably won't fit to most peoples' tastes, but if you like running around finding jewels with a radar detector than this is for you.
Overall, I say this game is pretty well, standing up to Sonic's legacy in great games. But the annoying camera and the Knuckles/Rouge levels earn this game 4 stars.

In the game Sonic Adventure 2 battle you can play 2 player, and go to different levels to play againest eachother. I got this game on Christmas, and I thought it would be boring. But when I opened my present that had this game inside, I bounced off the walls! I was was so happy because I wanted to play this game that had action, different people you can play as, and the game lets me beat my friends. Ok... I'll shut up, I'm going to make this short and sweet: I like this game, and I think you will to!
Perfect for my 4 yr. old!

We bought my 4 year old a GameCube for Christmas. He loves to play Super Smash Bros. and Monkey Ball. He also has Tarzan and Luigi's Mansion. I thought he would be too young, but he picked up on everything without even being shown how to play. When he got this game, he fell in love with it. He has played it for 3 days straight. Even though it is really fast, he seems to do just fine. We were having trouble finding games for the younger audiences, but this one is great. Although, your child needs to pick up on things quickly. My husband and I had trouble at first, but my son seemed to know how to play after just a few times. I recommed this to anyone with younger kids. Two thumbs up from us.

Ever since the Sega Genesis came out in 1991, I've loved Sonic games. But I could never get them because they were only for Sega consoles, and I had Nintendo systems. Plus, Sonic and Mario were supposed to be mortal enemies. I would have expected this game to be on PS2 or Xbox, but never Gamecube. But since its on GC, party on! This game is gonna be great!

This game will be the best when it comes out. Nintendo is adding new features like Being able to make your chao go from the Gamecube to the GBA. I would really like to get this game. My friend has the Sonic Adventure for Dreamcast and it is really cool. I know this one is going to be better. I want to be on the dark side when I play. I wish this game would come sooner.

Finally I don't have to buy a sega console to play a sonic game. This game is the first game to utilize using GBA for file swapping.
Sonic's trip to a different system has finally taken place!

Have we slipped into a paraell universere or what? It may seem this way when you see Sonic the Hedgehog speeding at the speed of light on the Gamecube. This is may seem like a rehash of the Dreamcast game, Sonic Adventure 2. The "battle" is the strong part of this game because the multiplayer games are fantastic! Go-carts, racing, and Chao Karate?!? This is an A-plus to my standars. But yet, for excellent games, there comes a price. This...horrible, infuriating camera chooses which way to go and you can't fix it!!! I hate that! But, thank God, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle has 12 players that have their own stroyline! That puts the replay value higher. Plus, there is the little extra that seperates the Dreamcast version from the Gamecube version. The Chao Garden which you can transfer your Chaos to your Game Boy Advance from your Gamecube. In conclusion, this game will be the start of so many Sonic Adventure games. Hopefully, in the near future, will be seeing Sonic Adventure 3.
