Lets get one thing straight, I am not under 13, or a kid, I just dont feel like giving my email and crap to this website, anyway this game is truly amazing. If you are a fan of the series you will absolutely love this. The graphics are awesome and the controls are much easier although you still need to push foward to move forward (you'll know what I'm talking about if you have played the other games or play this one). But the only problem with the controls being easier is that the enemies are MUCH smarter. Instead of coming at you from one direction, they will find a way to get to you. They also have weapons, knives, pitchforks, axes, and other various farming utensils. And the sometimes throw them. But because of the large crowds coming at you, you have new abilities, the ability to kick back one "zombie" (technically this game has no zombies) (and if i'm wrong dont yell at me) any way you can kick them back if you shoot them in the head and become off guard, and then if there are any "zombies" behind the one you kicked, they will also fall back. Also location damage is very important, obviously if you shoot them in the head, the head may explode, but the "zombie" can still attack you for a few seconds like one time a decapitated villager woman jumped on me, in which case i had to shake her off, this also gives you a chance to decapitate them when they are on you. If you shoot them in the leg a couple times, they will fall down, but not necessarily die. They also run at you in this game (not like in the other games where they just lunge at you when they are close enough) they will literally run at you from a distance, but they still walk (fortunately). This game is much more gory though, so if you haven't played any of the other games, and you dont like blood, well this game is not for you, even if you dont like it there is tons (example) when you battle the village chief, he splits himself in half, exposing his spine covered in blood, when you do enough damage, he splits in half again loosing his lower half which starts gushing blood, then after you beat his upper half he coughs up a bunch of blood then his eye falls out, and there are uglier bosses than him). But besides the blood this game is the best game ive ever played.

IN RESIDNET EVIL 4 YOU MUST RESCUE THE PRESIDNET DAUGHTER BECAUSE SHE HAS BEEN CAPTUERD AND IS BEING HELD CAPITAVE IN A VILLAGE IN RUSSIA. THIS GAME IS A FIRST PERSON SHOOTER AND THE GRAPHICS ARE A MASTERPICE!!!!!! IN THE GAME YOU DONT FIGHT ZOMBIES SMARTER. BECAUSE THEY THROUGH DYNIMATE AT YOU AND THEY HIT WITH AXES AND PITCH FORKS. THEY WILL ALSO SHOOT YOU WITH CROSS BOWS AND THEY WILL ALSO TRY TO HIT YOU WITH PITCH FORKS AND THERE ARE ONES THAT ALSO TRY TO KILL YOU WITH CHAINSAWS AS WELL!!!!!! ITS ALSO AWSOME THAT YOU CAN SEE GORY IMAGES OF BLOOD AND GUTS!!!!!!!! AS YOU GO ALONG IN THIS GAME YOU CAN BUY NEW GUNS AND YOU CAN FIND STUFF LIKE A SPINEL AND ITS ONE THING YOU CAN SELL TO MERCHNETS IN THE GAME. THIS GAME ALSO HAS INCEDIBLE VOICE OVERS TO. I LIKE THE STORY LINE OF THE GAME TO ABOUT HOW THE PRESIDNETS DAOUGHTER HAS BEEN CAPTUERD. THAT WRAPS IT UP. IF YOU OWN A GAMECUBE THEN THIS GAME IS A MUST HAVE.

BEST FREAKIN' GAME IN THE WHOLE FREAKIN' WORLD!

This game is without doubt the best game in the whole universe! This beats Halo and Halo 2 combined.

Graphics:10/10! Plants moving, people holding chainsaws, its all real
Sound:10/10! Plants bustling, excellent voice acting and great effects!
Controlls:9/10! The view is great!(Not FP)but the speed on how you turn,is totally unacceptable. But its great overall.
Scary:8/10. This is a lot more intense than it is scary.
Overall:10/10 You will play this for hours...

I like this game a lot because of the fact that you're the one being hunted not the villagers. They're not zombies. These are probably the smartest villians I've versed in the whole Resident
Evil series. There are axes, pitchforks, knives, chainsaws, dynamite, yup you name it. These are all used by the villagers.
The graphics in the cutscenes and the gameplay are both gorgeous and the acting is awesome. If you look on the back of the box you'll notice its rated M for Blood and Gore and Intense violence. There's barley any gore at all. There is an okay amount of blood especially when you blow there heads off but it's okay. The intense violence is true. This game literally grabs you by the throat. Im 12 and I play this game way to much, even if you keep getting game overs, you still can't get it off your hands. The fact that the Gamecube version is $20 and the PS2 and XBOX are $40 is a totall rip of for Sony and Xbox fans. If you have either systems, I don't care how old you are.. Go and buy it!!!!

Resident Evil will not leave you empty-handed. It rules!!!!!
By the way, my mom lets me play...

Okay, to start things off, I would like to note the graphics of this game. They are, by far, the best that I have seen, next to Gran Turismo 4, if not better. I would sit and watch the surroundings of the game, the hair waves, the jacket, gun strap, and the character himself, making the graphics awsome. Gameplay, I just cannot stop playing the game, when you aim, the camera moves in over the right shoulder and a red sight comes on, plus the character moves the gun around slightly, a very nice effect. Landscaping, very true to life, spooky, bloody, and you almost never know when you will be attacked, but like all video games, it can never be completely true to life, a very good effort none the less. Artificial Intelligiance, remarkable, but not perfect, the infected humans are very smart, but when they run at you they will slow down right before they reach you and take about 3 to 4 seconds to attack while slowly walking ever closer, they do and will attack in swarms as well so stock up on weapons and ammo because you WILL need it. Over all, a great, fun, spooky game filled with grousome horrors and demented villiagers, that will keep you coming back for more. Happy Hunting.

I agree with every single thing that everyone wrote about this awesome game. All the graphics and controls were more than fantastic. The only thing I warn people about would be that Leon was WAY too dorky(was he suppose to beat Chris from Code Veronica?).And ,to me, it didn't seem much like resident evil.Just some shoot em up game, even though Leon was in it.(although i will say that a certain point of the game toward the end, the un resident evil feeling went away). But I will stress................
A TOTALLY AWESOME GAME BY FAR

Possibly one of the best games of all time *in my top ten of all time*

I did write a review of this game before on another website , but now i can't find it..too lazy to write it again...once i find it i will re write a more detailed review. *mostly just copying what i said before....* anway....One of the best games of all time...heh....Well, I'm off to look for that review i wrote a while back. Once i find you you'll see why it's the best game of all time....those people giving this game 1 star didn't have any good reason at all, most fo them said it sucked all because it wa son the GCN! HA.....*laughs for serval minutes*! GCN has probably some of the most enjoyable games around. X-box has hardly any of it's own fun and unqie games and most PS2 games are a rushed production that suck for the most part , except for the maybe 5 games that are good on it. Theen GCN has tons of titles...seriosuly people! LOOK PASS THE STEROTYPE! Anyway, i'll actually be writing the review as soon as i find that old review i wrote a while back. Expect reason why from me soon

A great game.

This is a great game that fixes many of the problems in the first Resident Evil games. Unlike in the others, the controls are much easier to get used to.
The game takes place in a village in Europe. Through part of the game you have to excort the presiden'ts daughter. While this could be annoying, for the most part it is well-done and does not feel like a bad excort mission. You can buy weapon using money you find in the areas you visit.

Like the previous Resident Evil games, this game is scary.

The main problems in Resident Evil Four is the fact that certain weapons, such as the knife, are not that useful and ammo can be a problem if you run out of it and have no way of getting anymore.

Other than these minor problems, this game is perfect and anybody should be able to enjoy it.

a whole new direction for RE

This game is without a dougt a complete 180 degree change for the series. This becomes apparent after playing for 10 seconds. Gone is the awquard camera angle and with it, the auto aim. Now you have to do your own dirty work, but this allows you to do it right :). Overall, the biggest changes are....
-Smart enemies
-over the shoulder aiming
-a wierdo who sells you guns (where would I be without him)
-kill everything rather than run like hell (although sometimes both are present)
the upside is an elevated sense of involvement and control, but a very bad side of the changes is that you don't really get the same fear of opening doors as with the other games. The graphics are amazing, although there are glitches where you can cause characters to overlap and you can also tell when something is interactable or not, but hey, no biggie. the combat is a big side of this game, and it happens in a blink of an eye. You don't ever really have time to think, so you kinda stumble around until you get a feel for when you need a shotgun and when is a good time to whip out your trusty knife and carve up some *not* zombies. The greatest excitement comes from when the enemy has you cornered and you're sure that you're going down, but not without a fight, and also when you're being overwhelmed and have to move your ass with a psych not far behind trying to claim that very ass with with his chainsaw blaring (you just wait until one those guys is right behind you screaming for blood and you jump out of your seat, those [...] are scary). Moving right along, the replay value is plenty high with a myriad of weapons just begging to be tested, and a slew of mini games waiting to be played. The only down-side is that at some point, you get good enough weapons that the combat stops being intriguing, but the weapons are still plenty fun, and the mini-games themselves will keep you busy for hours (not to mention unlockables for those ocd gamers out there). That's the only reason that it got 4 stars for fun. But the plot is intrigung enough and leaves you satisfied but wanting the sequel, although like most games, the dialogue has moments that have you begining to make a noose out of the power cord, but it moves right along before you have time to actually decide on suicide, so it's forgiveable. It took me 14 hours to beat, and then it has a counter for your deaths just taunting you to do better, and it's more than enough fun the second time because you can try out all the weapons you never touched or abandoned for the "higher-up." This one's a keeper!!!

A MUST have game for survival horror fans

Ok doing a complete rewrite of my review to get rid of any sort of bias I had from hype or my initial impressions upon first playing the game.

Resident Evil 4, in my opinion is the best edition to the RE series period.

Graphics: The graphics in RE4 are the easiest to rate. Solid A- for everything.
Landscapes, people, and monsters are all done beautifully. The one thing that keeps it from being an A+ is the fact that the characters don't have real time facial expressions. They smirk when they are happy, giddy, over joyed, or relieved, or they remain straight faced or develop a subtle frown when they are depressed, angered, irritated, or annoyed. It's very similar to the facial expressions in Final Fantasy X in which they really don't exist.

Story: C-
The storyline is it's been 6 years since the virus outbreak in Raccoon City. Leon S. Kennedy now works as a governement agent for the President of the United States.
The president's daughter Ashley has been kidnapped by a religious cult and is being held hostage in Spain. Leon's mission is to find her and bring her home. Simple, easy and horribly generic. The cutscenes are also peppered with political rehtoric which has no place in the video game. When Sadler says: "No longer will the United States think that they can police the world forever."
or how about Leon: "It's not a ritual, it's terrorism"
Slazaar: "My my , isn't that a popular word these days."
You get the impression that the characters say those things for the sake of saying them, not because they further the plot in anyway. Almost as if the developers put that into the game in a pathetic attempt to make it more marketable because politics are a "hot topic."

Character problems: Leon is your average ex-cop turned government agent who was a former member of an elite military group of some kind. He totally doesn't fit the part. Any of us who have played RE2 remember him as the young, inexperience rookie cop. Go six years into the future to RE4 and he looks about 26 or 27. We find out that he was some kind of "solid snake" a long time ago, which would make him 20 when he joined the R.P.D and what, 18 or 19 when he was with Krauser?? Come on!
Another thing that RE4 has in common with FFX is the acting...the horrible horrible acting. Don't get me wrong it's up to par or even a little better than FFX, and a hell of a lot better than RE1. But the dialogue in many parts is crap and the cutscenes are drawn on for far too long.

Gameplay and controls:
This is where she excels. You no long rely on auto targeting to line up a shot. Everything is done manually and in a 3 person view with a laser sight. You can target different body parts of your victim and get differing results. Some shots can set you up for physical attacks like a kick or a "suplex" this enables you to deal damage and conserve ammo, or clear a path through the freaks, and unlike your typical RE zombies, the parasited villagers feel pain.

180 degree turn is still in the game, you can dodge and counter attack some enemies when prompted by and "A" "B" or double "R" button combo.

Items are lit up and easy to see and include a simple "to take press A" command that appears on the screen. No longer do you have in inch your character around a pre-rendered room, mindlessly mashing the action button in the hopes that you find some treasure or ammunition.

The game is extremely linear and streamlined. There is no running around, finding a puzzle, realizing you're missing a piece and then backtracking all the way back to find that one obscure thing that you forgot in order to progress.

Your character unfortunately still mantains his clunky movements and while they are much improved from previous titles, it's still annoying when you're fighting an enemy or boss that completely outclasses you in the agility department.

Now after all the pros and cons the one and only thing you should ask is, "Is the game fun to play?" The answer is yes definitely.
Resident Evil 4 is completely worth owning, or at the very least a must rent.
The mini games and pursuit of cheat weapons will ensure replay value for months to come.

I am happy to see Capcom finally trying a new approach to one of their most beloved titles and hopefully we can expect more innovations in future RE games.
