This game is so much fun! You have your own boat and after the beginning level you are free to roam the sea as you please! You also have all the classic Zelda weapons: sword, shield, bow and arrows, boomarang, and bombs. In this game you also have a new tool called the wind waker, hence the name of the game, that lets you control the winds, such as redirceting the directing the wind blows, change day to night and back, and even summon hurricanes to teleport you all over this watery world!
to all you

this game will be awesome. and to all you who say link never had a sister... this is a different link. it is 100 yrs after ocarina of time. ocarina and majora happen first, then with a different guy, wind waker. So he can easily have a sister. a long time after wind waker a link to the past happens, and far after that, the original nes ones. so while he may not have had a sister before... this in does!
Meh.

I've been playing Zelda games since the first one, on the NES. And I like the graphics in "Wind Waker." They are cute, but I don't think that makes them only appropriate for kids.
I found the game itself fairly disappointing. It wasn't *bad* at all, but it wasn't nearly as absorbing as the best Zelda games (to me, the very best was "A Link to the Past," followed by "Ocarina of Time").
Overall, the Gamecube has been a disappointment, and the first Zelda title on this console is no exception, in my opinion. That still puts "Wind Waker" well above most of the games out these days. I don't know why people are calling this the best Zelda game ever ... it's just not.
Couldn't believe it

There was a lot of anticipation for this game in my house. Having the two "64" versions made it so.
I could not have been more disappointed. I was aware of the change in character look but nothing was even remotely as challenging as the "64" versions.
The "hints" booklet left a lot to be desired in terms of actual information, so it DID take longer to do some things. The fact that you must constantly be going from one place in the sea to another for one little thing is a bit annoying. It truly gets you nothing.
I was hoping this game would redeem Nintendo for not being very forthcoming with games....NOT!

What were they thinking when making this game really? It does not even look like Young Links. They made it all rounded. To me it looks really bad and it hurts me to see what they did to it. I am a long time fan from when Link was in regular nintendo. When I first saw this game I was in shock. But being a long time fan I gave it a shot. When I did, I did not even like the way it played. I am glad some people like it so they make at least some money off of it, in hopes of making more Link's games.
But to me the only thing I liked what the game I got with it. It was The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time and I highly enjoyed it. If you get any thing soon get The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time I am shure you'll love it.
Aaarrrrrrggggh!!!!

This is actually, surprisingly, one of the worst games to come off the Nintendo production line for quite some time.Yes,the magazines love it,and loads of gamers love it,but this is only because of a)the hype and b)it's Zelda.Borrowing VERY heavily from Zelda:OOT, it comes off as it's retarded little brother, and though I have nothing against the graphics,I can't help but think how much better this would be with a revised storyline, more inventive and origional dungeons and bosses, and would be more appealing to the wider gaming world with more realistic graphics.
Great

The moment I saw this game, I knew it would be great. You can do so much more with cel animation. Link's facial expressions are the easiest to recognize. Still, not much is known about the game except that Link's sister gets captured by a big bird and it's up to him to save her. Also, I really hope NOA will do the same thing that they doing in Japan, and go with that awesome preorder thing where you get the GCN version of Ocarina of Time and OofT Master Quest, a previously unreleased version that was only available in Japan. Basically, the story is exactly the same but the dungeons are completely redone and items are in different places. If you preorder Windwaker at a participating retailer, you get these games on one disc. The 64 graphics are still used, but they are slightly cleaner. That would really get me to buy it. Like I said, this will be a great game and an instant classic.

Unlike a lot of people, the new look of Link in Wind Waker didn't really bother me. Actually, I thought it was a rather cute idea. The real problem of this game is the fact that Link doesn't stay on solid ground!
There's too much sailing that goes on in the game, and it gets old fast. It takes forever and is just all around tedious. Also, I found the frustration level for this game to be quite high. It's to be expected that you'd have to repeat certain spots of the gameplay in order to get it right and move on. However, there were certain parts where Link had to be angled *just* right. Which sometimes took an hour to accomplish; that is if I didn't just throw the controller at the screen first.
I just gave up and stopped playing it because my anger level was just getting too high. No game is worth that kind of frustration.

This game rocks but where do I start saying all of the beatiful things of this game well you are going tro meet the little sister of Link, Aryll even if this game is 100 years after the Ocarina of time it always be the same hero that does anything to save the people if you played the both N64 Zelda games or 1 you have to buy this one if you are a zelda fan or not this game rocks!!!!!!!!
