Over the years you have had such people say: "This game is cartoon like", "I hate this game", and "I hate cel-shade". This game however is one of the best looking games i've ever seen. It's Easy on the eyes and amazing to watch. If you have kids this is a must have. If you have teenagers this is a must have. If you have grandparents this is a must have.

This is a must have game, how do I know? Well I can speak Japanese, and I already beat it and loved it. Its graphics aren't like the original, but the game looks amazing. It has many of the older tunes from Ocarina of time plus new tunes you will love. It has easy controls and plenty of game play and dialogue. The landscape and water is amazing, and the story is even more thrilling. If you are a true Zelda fan you'll love this game, and yes although it is a whole new game, it is the same old Link.

Lots of fun, but SO very big!

If you liked "Ocarina" you will very likely enjoy this one, too. It's a lot of fun and maintains the same spirit as it's forerunners. There's tons of interaction between the characters (and they say different things to you at different stages in the game). The "levels" are challenging and it really does feel like a quest, as you are zooming all over the ocean to different islands, talking to different people and animals, buying essential items and beating mini challenges to get prizes and information. My only complaint is that it is SOO big and there is SO much to do, it can become a bit overwhelming. I have to admit that I had to use many hints and cheats on-line to get through some of it. If I didn't, there was NO way I could have figured everything out (not that I've completed it yet). Also, if you take a break from playing it and come back to it, you can easily forget where you've been, where you're going and all the crap you're suppose to be doing in between. I started keeping a notebook full of hints and notes on the different islands, etc. This has helped, but I still feel a little lost everytime I go back to it.

Great Game

I have found that every Zelda game is great, ive had this game for awile and i just beat it! this game packes loads of fun in just one tiny disk. The fact that you dont have to do the missions and you can just sail around and go treasure hunting and get maps and visit islands that youve never been to before is great.
The battle sequences are fun because as you get better and go back to the old islands from previous missions and you kill the monsters from before your like "i can't beileve it's this easy." getting the master sword is pretty cool because after you've got all the stone things your get more missions. the bosses can be sorta frustrating but i find you beat them afteer aither the first or the second time.
The graphics are excelent they couldn't be any better. there sorta cartoonish but i like that sorta look. if you could upgrade your ship that would be really cool too, i guess the one person ship will have to do (by one person i mean one kid). the game play is fun but the fact the only reason your hunting gandolf and his bird is because your stupid little sister got stolen cuz she's got pointy ears.
overall i say if you like zelda games buy this one it provides hours of game play and fun. i stoped playig because i had to formate my memory card.

The best series in history.

What can you really say about the Legend of Zelda? I have been playing the Zelda series since I was 8 years old, and I've never gotten tired of it. Ocarina of Time is, without a doubt, the greatest game ever created.

I LOVED Ocarina of Time. I'm a true blue fan of that game, and I didn't think I'd like the new graphics and style of WW, but I love it. It's the little details like when Link gets out of water, his footsteps are wet. Things like that. The detail is superb. Dungeons and bosses are as challenging and fun as ever, and the graphics are just incredible. In fact, I love the "cartoon-ish" feel to it. It's a little more ubeat and fun, and not as dark as others.

5 stars out of 5. I played this game instead of writing a 15 page research paper, forcing myself to have to write it in 4 days, but it was all worth it. This game is amazing and addictive.

My only complaint (and one that other people seem to note as well) is that the world is huge and it takes quite a bit of time to travel(via boat) from area to area. It gets a little tedious and sometimes a wee bit frustrating. That said, the game is hugely entertaining and I absolutely adore it. I'm playing it again for a second run through(and, when you play the game again after beating it once, there are little differences and changes in your second game! fun!).

If you loved OoT, you'll love this one too, trust me.

At first glance The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker might look like it was made for 4:20. It took some time for my eyes and feelings to get adjusted to the graphics. I was never a great fan of cell-shading, but hey! It's Zelda. Putting the visuals aside. The Legend Of Zelda:WW is a game that can be fun but very frustrating. You will travel by by foot and boat while you traverse the lands once in order to stop the dark hoards of none other than, who else? For more go get the game it's worst it =P

-CON
Zelda is a great game and I love everything but there is one thing that gets on my nerves. **??MIGHT BE SPOILER???**Don't Read On.

Unlike any of the other Zelda games you actually have to save up a ton of rupees in order to progress.

The graphics in Wind Waker are superb; the game development team actually used a graphical style that is very much in the spirit of the game. Every character has been made in a very cartoony fashion which sadly has put off some "cool dudes" that don't want to play such a "childish" game. These people are missing out on a wonderfully looking game, from start to finish.

Sadly, the gameplay doesn't achieve the high quality the graphics have. Everything in this game, with the exception of the Deku leaf, gives the feeling of "been there, done that". Sure, there are new items like the boat and grapling hook, but in what substancial way are they different from Epona and the hookshot in Ocarina of Time? Or from the Pegasus boots and hookshot in Link to the Past? The answer is sadly that they are not.

Don't get me wrong, Wind Waker is in no way a bad game; it is just not a good game. An amazingly average game, Wind Waker will be loved because of its brand - The Legend of Zelda.

The best game of all time. And I wouldn't say that about any other game.

When this game first came out, I thought I had lost Nintendo. I found myself doing such things as getting an XBox instead of a Gamecube, making fun of my friend who DID get a Gamecube, and writing an angry letter to GameInformer for giving it a perfect 10.
I thought the cel-shading was ridiculous. It was when I finally ended up getting a Gamecube, and my friend made me borrow it, that I was blown away.
The first thing I came to realize is how deep and emotional connection I really had to the Zelda series. I had constant chills running down my spines as the storybook-like intro unfolded and the original zelda theme chimed in. It was after playing this game that I realized that this is the best series of games to ever be played by mortals, and I really need to stick with it no matter what.
Then came the graphics. It looked like a pre-animated move, but it really was the actual game graphics. Seeing adorable characters such as Aryll gave me an amazing warm sensation, and, along with the music, this immersed me so deeply in the game I would get irritable and grumpy when it was time to put the controller down. These graphics are amazing.
The controls are really good and responsive, and very easy to use. And rotating the camera is something the series really benefits from. the targeting system still works great, and some of the actions are mapped to the r button, which makes some things less akward than in previous zelda games
The gameplay itself never lacked in fun, even long sailing boat trips could be fun with so many things to do out there, such as collecting items, sunken treasures, and fighting off marine enemies. Even spinning the camera around can provide good entertainment, with such great graphics.
There are so many sidequests and collectible items, that this game can last you a very long time. When I beat it, I felt satisfied, victorious, and eager to play it again. Especially eager when I learned of the second quest. While not much different, the second quest let you continue your nintendo gallery exploits by starting you with the pictograph box and lets you keep the original pajama outfit throughout the game. You can also now read the hylian language, and new humorous dialogue is added in.
I have played this game thrice now that I have bought it for myself, and I plan to play it again on my Wii. This game still hasn't lost any of it's charm. The difficulty level obviously decreases as you play it again and again, but the story, the music, the graphics and the characters alone are enough to play it several times over without yearning for something more. That is a quality I look for in my games.

Pros:
+Amazing graphics, beautiful animations.
+Perfect puzzle solving expected of Zelda has come to the next console generation with flying colors, and is just the right level of difficulty.
+Great epic storyline, with imaginative characters and unique plot twists.
+Amazing soundtrack, and nostalgic for Zelda veterans.
+High replay value (for people like me who like to get more for their money)

Cons:
-All other games seem a little dull after playing this.
-It's hard to think of cons for it :).

Interesting:
?It takes place after Twilight Princess, and is (believed to be) one of the later games in the Zelda timeline. Nobody knows for sure though.
?There is no equipment subscreen this time, as with Majora's Mask. I wonder why they never let you switch back to your family's shield...
?Strange how the parts of this game that recieved critcism are the parts that made it so great.

I reccomend you buy this game right now if you don't already have it. It's better than Twilight princess, in my opinion, if you're looking for a solid Gamecube Zelda. It is a masterpiece and you will be fondly remembering it 20 years from now.

Its the best
