cool game

I love this game because theres soo much stuff to do.. its a bit repetitive but if so you can take a brake of doing the same thing and go fish or go and visite other places two!

Examples of things to do :
Feed the animals ,
Brush the animals ,
Plant flowers,
Plant vegtebles,
Water the Plants and much more ... but if i said it all it would take to long!!

this game is the best.in harvest moon your sappose to make a farm.you can plant seeds on your farm.in the begining you start out with a cow.after a while your neighbor will order a horse for you.you can also order stuff and ship stuff.theres 6 chapters.after one year you will get married and get a baby.you can marry three people celia muffy and nami.your hoase will get bigger once you get married.when you have time you can go look around.you can give flowers to people that you can marry and they could get heart in her diary.in the 2 chapter you can by stuff from vans shop.your baby can inherit your farm or do something else.

This game is the anti-thesis of all those old, tired, formulaic video games out there. I think most people are perfectly sick of going through the same type of level in first/third person, fight small aliens/monsters/demons along the level, and be frustrated with the major boss at the end of it. We've all seen this a thousand times? Where's the originality? There is nothing more frustrating than investing so much time in a game just to stop because a particular puzzle/monster/boss is too hard or the AI is too cheap. This game is the answer to those who feel this way.

When I first got this game, I was a bit skeptical because it's a farming RPG. How fun could that be? Well, guess what, it is pretty fun. You start off as a young man who was left a farm. You're job is to feed yourself, know you neighbors, make money, marry someone, and raise a kid. It sounds boring yes, but the enjoyment comes in learning how to accomplish everything. You explore, make friends, experiment, etc. There is no need to worry about dying or messing up. All you have to do is live your life.

In terms of friends and family, you meet certain individuals and try to make friends with them. You also have your choice of three eligible bachelorettes to marry. In the first year, you must pursue the particular girl you want by talking to them, giving them appropriate gifts, etc. The next year, you have a kid. During the later years, your kid will grow up and pursue a certain career, depending on your wife, friends and own actions.

In terms of money, there are numerous ways to make a living. You can milk cows, sell animals, plant crops, plant trees, sell vegetables, fruits, wool, eggs. You can fish, produce seeds, butter, or other food products as well. The possibilities are numerous. In the beginning, you hardly have any information. As time progresses and wealth improves, you can start doing more and more.

There are a few bad parts to this game. You live in one small town and after a few days, there is not much to explore any more. The town could have been more lively, with more buildings and people. The monotony is also apparent, especially while farming. In Harvest Moon time, there are 40 days in a year, and each day takes about a half hour to complete. Much of that time will be doing the same routine over and over again. The worst example is watering the plants. You need to water each sapling/tree/root individually, making it very, very dull at times.

In the end though, it's a neat, relaxing video game that sure is a nice break from all the other crud produced out there.

Pros:
Exploring and learning is fun.
No set-backs (backtracking, dying, etc.).
No set way to do anything.

Cons:
The monotony is truly boring at some points.
The town in quite small.

Frustration Level: Low/Medium

Difficulty Level: Low

Time: 20 hours to play a year (8 years max)

I LOVE this game!! It is so much fun. It is cool because you dont have to have a lot of skill with the controller to play it. It is fun because it is like you are living your own life, but different!

This game is very fun me and my cousin played it from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am. When you start this game you are given a old run down farm but it gets better from there you can make friends get married go fishing buy anaimals and alot more. It has good graphics great sound and alot of other things to. I love this game but I recomened renting it before buying it. now I have some tips for it. if you buy a tree plant it 15 squares away from all your crops. and this is how you win over the girls in this game. muffy youhave to give her any type of flower or a ore or coin. nami give her a skull fosile or a stute (excuse the spelling) and also when you get the blue feather go to either muffy or ceila and show them the blue fether and say no I don't mean it. lastly ceila give her a flower or a peace of fruit and after awhile she will like you. for those people who say there are no festival there are simaler things in the game. this is awsome game. also you can only be a boy but you probley alredy know thatbut i don't mind because i am a boy. this is awsome i recomend it.

Harvest Moon has come a long way from it's 1997 release Harvest Moon on the Super Nintendo. In this addition of the game you move into a town were villagers come and go. The game's story is divided into chapters. So here's my review

Concept- Take Natsume's farm-pg and make it lenthy

Graphics-Impressive for Gamecube but some is Recycled from Save the Homeland

Sound- nothing really impressive and no voiceovers

Playbility- The Controller icon at the top of the screen makes me feel like i'm playing Zelda

Entertainment- If your looking for a conflict-free game this game's for you

This game is very fun, but it can get pretty boring doing the same thing over and over but I still think it's an awsome game. either you'll love this game or you'll hate it I like it because you can have cows, chickens, a goat, a horse and alot of pets. Only thing I don't like is that I can't find any festivales but there are alot of cut scenes.

This game has it all. Here are a few examples of what you can do: own your own farm, own tools, own animals, go fishing, give gifts, sell items under a tree, go to a bar, get married, have a child, have friends, grow vegetables and much more. This game is very fun to play and once you hit the button on the Gamecube you will not turn it off. You play only as a boy in this game. If you are a girl then you might want to wait for the game harvest moon another wonderful life. In another wonderful life you will play as a girl and be able to marry a boy. If you love the harvest moon wonderful life series but don't have a Gamecube then you might want to wait for the PS2 version coming out. The new version is called harvest moon a wonderful life special edition and will have lots of new features. Thanks

A fun game that teaches you the difficulty of farm life

My dad bought me this game after I had my wisdom teeth pulled so I would have something to do when I was in bed for a few days. This game certainly made the time pass a lot quicker, because I was eager to be able to find my mate and get married by the end of the year.
In the game, you get to plant crops like tomatoes, sweet potatoes, melons, peaches, and turnips. You can, along with eggs from your chickens, milk from your cows, and wool from you sheep, sell them to people in your town for a profit. With your fortune, you can buy more seeds, animals, and tools that you need to get your farm up to it's full potential.
You start out with a cow, a bit of money, and a few tools that are too heavy for you, but they work. Once you sell milk for a couple of days, you can afford to buy things that you need like lighter tools, and some chickens! Later you get a horse that lets you travel around town much quicker.
Overall, for the price, and for the playability, this game is definately a must-have. Pick up a copy, I dare you to not have fun. :)

Well, I haven't actually bought the game, but from some of the screenshot I can tell the graphics are better than all the Harvest Moon games so far. This game has a lifespan of 30 years and the characters age as well as you. You can also get married which was sadly left out of the Harvest Moon Save the Homeland. Also you can choose to have a baby, which can later help you on your farm.And last but not least the hookup to GBA game Mineral Town lets characters travel between towns and explore each town. Overall this game seems to be better than the rest. And I am greatly looking forward to it.
